Andy Whitfield (Spartacus) for the young Jamie, after all he is supposed

to be 23 years old to Clare's 27 years.

Gerald Butler for the older Jamie, when Clare comes back 20 years later.

@melanieanastos Well...rachel Weisz is 40...and Andy Whitfield is 37. Would make the movie lose a lot of credibility to cast actors who are about 15 years older than the characters. I really like Andy Whitfield and I think that he has jamie qualities, but due to his age and also his height he wouldn't be the right choice for Jamie, I believe. And Rachel Weisz might fit the visual description - but somehow I just cant see her as Claire (but that's just me ;)). She also is way too old.

These are GREAT calls in casting! I am LOVING the idea of C-Hens, and there's no other choice than Kate Winslet for EVERY role, really—she's the only actress capable of portraying a real, full-feeling woman. She'd be a terrific Claire.

I will gladly line up to see this version.

How about Paul Bettany as Jamie? Pretty tall and already a redhead. Looks more closely like the Jamie I imagined, just needs to bulk up. He could also pull off the young and older Jamies well.

@Ridin4The2Ganja0Bus I totally love Paul Bettany :) He seems to have a lot of Jamie qualities though for me personally he is on the other side of the Jamie spectrum, if that makes sense. He wouldn't even have to bulk up too much, IMO. Though for me Paul Bettany is and always will be Geoffrey Chaucer ;) But thanks for the suggestion (and finally a suggestion that can be taken seriously ;))

@jlzazzy most people say jude law for grey ... i think that this is not that bad actually though jude law is way too old for the young grey and even too old for the grey in ardsmuir. But generally I would go for the slender, soft-eyed and gentleman-like type of guy. I have no actors in mind, though. I wouldn't necassarily go for a blond guy .. if they find a guy with dark hair whose charisma and acting fits perfectly -- no problem for me.

@LarsUlrichFan1988 actually, i found someone... Ewan MacGregor (pardon the Scot, he would have to do an upper class english accent). Jude law does a fabulous flammer (in Wilde!), but Lord Grey is a military man, tough, stocky and understated.

I do like Gerard Butler and Kevin McKidd as well, but I agree on that they're too old to play the part... Maybe I could see Kevin McKidd as the older version of Jamie (Voyager and later), but I'm not so sure... I really don't know who this Chris Hemsworth is, but in my opinion he certainly fits the character :)

I sure hope there will be a movie real soon.... cause I adore the series!

I think Gerald Butler would have been a much better match to play Jamie. Shouldn't Brianna be a fiery red head? The guy from Grey's Anatomy that is red headed who also plays an irish man would be a good Jamie too. This guy in this video for Jamie is too thin and not muscular enough. Not sure I would want to see the movie if this is who will play one of main roles.

@angela28716 No. Remember that Gerry Butler and Kevin McKidd are both 40 or older. And they are to small as well, by the way.

Don't forget that this video covers only the first book (I added Brianna and Roger) and Jamie is about 23! Gerry and Kevin definatley look like 40.

Chris Hemsworth has it all to play Jamie. Jamie is not built like a footballplayer, much more like basketballplayer - Dianas own words.

And who says that the actress I chose for Brianna has to have red hair in real life?

Tony Curran or Simon Woods look good for Jamie but idk their strength of character.Jamie needs to be physically attractive and strong ,a bit dashing and charming but a man of convictions.I think Craig Fergusson needs a part in the movie also.He has a strong personality as one would expect of highlanders.

Claire seems more of an average looks woman but intelligent,strong and determined.So plz no typical t & a Hollywood starlets.

@goldensassenach neither woods or curran match Jamie's description at all. Curran is too old and too ugly and woods doesn't have the physical appearance and the charisma.

I love my choices , and I don't consider them to be typical Hollywood - great and honored actors, but not typical Hollywood (btw, I'm not one of them who want a miniseries - i'm in for a blockbuster on th big screen)

If you don't agree with my choices - fine . Why don't you make you'r own video? Might be interesting.

@TheLindan84 sorry, don't agree at all. I can't see Kingston as Claire, just b/c she's got curls and has played a doctor before. And Lewis is WAY too old. It's young Jamie we're talking about here! Lewis looks as if he's at least 40. Yes, he does have red hair and blue eyes. But that alone doesn't make a good Jamie.

And the other male actors - they ARE indeed described as attractive in the book. And I wouldn't call ANY of my choices "pretty".

I suggest casting Chris Hemsworth as young Jamie Fraser and David Wenham as an older Jamie Fraser. Or how about Trond Espen Seim as an older Jamie Fraser? How about Gísli Örn Garðarsson as Frank/Black Jack?

Still trying to find more young male actors for the role of young Jamie Fraser.

@DanusiaZach yeah. Basically, the actors you see in this clip are those who I think would be spot-on for the roles. I just don't like the looks or/and the acting skills of all of the people you've suggested.

The only one I agree about would be Kate, but only b/c I chose her for "young" Claire myself. See, it took me a very long time to make this video and choose the actors, and I took so much more into consideration than just looks.

Btw, the looks of the ators ins wy secondary to their acting

Jamie Fraser has to be a real man, no pretty boys. Ive read all these great books, in my mind I know what Jamie looks like as Im sure many other women who have fallen in love with the character do. You've got to get this one right otherwise it just wont work. Like so many other attempts at turning brilliant stories into movies it could bomb miserably with the wrong casting.

@annieneil obviously you don't know much about Chris Hemsworth apart from some pictures. Please check him out before you judge him. He's definately not just a pretty face. Trust me.

@annieneil n I totally agree with you. Although I love Gerard Butler, his features are not right for Jamie Fraser; David Wenham has all the right facial features but he is not a huge box office actor like Gerard. I also think Liam Neeson would be excellent in the role of Colum MacKenzie.

I LOVE your choice for Claire, nobody ever uses Kate Winslet and I think she would be great. I see why you chose such a young Jamie but I'm on the Gerard Butler bandwagon lol I really enjoyed this though, makes me want a movie to come out soooo bad!

@shelleybelly75 thanks. Yeah, think that Kate would do awesome as Claire and though Rachel Weisz would be quite nice as well, I was kinda sick of seeing her in almost every video.

I think that Chris Hemsworth would be the perfect one to play the young Jamie, but if they ever make the movies and they make movies out of all the books, Gerard would definately have to take over from the 3rd movie on. It's a shame that he's already 40 :( But he needs to be in these movies ;)
