  • This ist TFSI and not a normaly FSI

  • still ...60% of the energy goes to waste as heat .... Driving cars on piston engines is like heating up your home with light bulbs .... simply stupid ! and yet they keep building them :)

  • @klauzes But its still the best way to do it!

  • @klauzes true said, was thinking the same thing. but its still cheap to make. and still bet 50percent of the people dont know how there car works......

  • @klauzes Most of the energy in light bulbs goes to waste as heat as well

  • The B-52 Stratofortress had stratified injection. At that altitude, you are near the stratosphere, ha, ha, ...The B-52 was axed due to bumpers that didn't meet stringent specifications. So, now, people are basically pissed and heartbroken. Must hire 50 000 psychiatrists to deal with the emotional aftershocks.

  • stratified means cut off or lessened in effect the engine runs on less fuel when it is good to do o

this saves fuel, direct fuel injection also means les fuel is wasted to supply the engine with fuel

all over mean big savings on fuel

  • the ottoman cycle is unchanged

in a fuel injection engine you have

conventional or old injection also known as SPI (single point injection) - similar to a carburetor in that fuel and air is mixed prior to combustion outide of the combustion chamber

this has diadvantages namely economy of the engine

with MPI - multi point injection fuell is injected much nearer to the combustion chamber

with FSI, fuel injected directly in to the chamber howver when conditions allow the fuel is stratified

  • @retetikker not usually because you want the fuel and air to mix properly before its compressed. I'm sure some engines do though.

  • Comment removed

  • @retetikker no its not a diesel

  • FSI means fuel stratified injection. It's a gas direct injection system.

  • What makes FSI any different from DI? Is it the air vortex?

  • @banstaman Fuel is inyected directly in the combustion chamber

  • @banstaman higher injector pressure. FSI is the German translation for forced cylinder injection (DI).
