  • THANK YOU!!

I showed my grandma , we had fun making them thanks to you!

  • @daniellestoker Aww! I'm so glad I could make it fun for you guys!! I'd love to see them!

  • Amazing video tutorial! Thank you for sharing! :D

  • @rnbwbrt4eva Thank you. I hope you have good luck with these instructions = ]

  • we made ALL our baby's lil panties for $43 it DOES save money, though we used non waterproof fabric as the store didn't have any PUL so we just use covers

  • @IFriedDaRice Check out Jo'Ann's Fabric. They are now selling PUL, believe it or not. If you still can't find it there, check out verybaby.com. They have everything for making diapers and more and they are super fast and safe to shop from.

  • Ty Your video was very helpful.I was confused on several aspects of diaper making thanks for the clear concise instructions.

  • @lovemy04babies Thanks. I'm very happy I could help you. I remember when I was trying to sew my first cloth diaper and I would search on youtube for a good tutorial and nothing really helped.

  • job very well done ! WOW.....!

  • @aakyviky Why thank you!

  • good job the diaper looks great!!!

  • Awesome!!! My niece just had a baby and she is using cloth diapers. I am not much of a sewer but if need be I could make a few for her son?.. Where did you get the pattern? Do you think they would sell this pattern type at say Jo-Ann fabrics? Thanks and again good job!!!

  • @sassylassy01 you can get a free pattern in this site, al you have to do is print them!

    3 times w(.)thenappynetwork(.)org(.)nz/images/WeeWeka_SMGussetFOE(.)pdf

  • why would you make the patterned part of the fabric the inside?

  • @zaysgurl89 Well, it's cotton flannel. If I made it the outside, it would wick moisture from the inside of the diaper out onto the legs, waist, etc. Cotton will continue to absorb liquid until it's no longer dry. It's better to just have the waterproof PUL on the outside and whatever soft fabric for the inside for softness and "seeping" abilities, meaning the inside fabric must be able to draw moisture through and into the cloth insert.

  • I like your tutorial but I don't see how it saves money to make them. I bought a pattern at my local Joann's and it says I need 5/8" of PUL and 5/8" of flannel to make 1 diaper. That's pretty pricey. Is that more than what your pattern calls for?

  • @TalebsMommy I'm not sure. I used 3 yards of PUL and 3 yards of cotton velour which made 6 diapers total. With the velcro, it only cost about $5-6 per diaper. I bought my fabric from verybaby.com. Plus, always look for fabric sales to save money. Sewing cloth diapers is not for everyone. I have some of my own as well as some name brand ones = ]

  • @ArmindaHeart Whoops! I just looked at my reply. I meant to say that I bought 3 yards of PUL fabric and 3 yards of cotton velour and made 9 diapers total for about $5.00 each. The only thing that's a pain is the time that goes into it = ]

  • how many of each size can you get from a yard? I have a 16 month old who will need mediums and a newborn on the way so I can mix it up and use the same yard for both sizes in combination with each other. Just wondering how much fabric to order! :)

  • @fallinguphill7 I think with 3 yards I was able to make 6 medium sized diapers if I planned it out properly. Don't fold the pattern/fabric in half to cut. Just cut out the entire pattern and lay it down to use the least amount of fabric. If you are using this pattern for your newborn, I would suggest using the small size because my babies didn't start fitting in this diaper until at least 3 to 4 months, and it was a little gappy at the legs, so maybe you'll get 8 diapers in 3 yards at size small

  • @ArmindaHeart Oh wow thanks. That's not a whole lot considering the cost of the material. I just figured out that it would cost me just as much money to make them as it would to just buy them. That's a big bummer.

  • @fallinguphill7 It shouldn't. I made mine for about $5.50 a piece. Where are you getting your supplies from? If you're trying to get your material super cheap, go to your local fabric store and find PUL on sale. Fleece is more expensive than PUL. I bought my material on very baby.com and never spent more to make them than to buy.

  • I want to thank you for this clip. I have watched quite a lot of the videos on the applications of sewing the diapers, but yours I found much more visual. I am a visual learner. Thank you for making it look like the diaper making at home is actually achiveable for me and you make it look easy...... :)

  • @taylormike100 Thank you so much! I am also a visual learner and need detailed examples of how to get something done. So I am very happy it came across this way. Please use me as a resource if you have any questions about how to sew cloth diapers.

  • whats the name of the water proof material?

  • @reiters1 It's called PUL material. You can find it on verybaby.com.

  • Thank you!

  • what the name of the water proof material?

  • Just wondering if you had used a micro fiber towel? and if you have to sew it does it have problems with fraying after being washed. So do you sew and turn or just sew a zig zag around outer edge. Im doing a newborn diaper so it needs to be altered.

  • @camillechildress Yes, for these diapers, I used microfiber material. You could also just pick up some cheap microfiber towels at a store that are on sale. I once made some diapers with cheap microfiber towels that I sewed together into 6 layers (it was very thin) and it works great. Just sew and turn, unless you have a serging machine, and then top stitch so it lays nice and flat. I just do a straight stitch, not a zig zag, but you can zig zag if you like. Good luck!!! : D

  • this is a great video! Thank YOU>

  • @vinyliz2u thank you! If you have any questions, just ask : D

  • hey is this diaper a one size ?

  • @shangita1988 No, it is size medium, fits babies from about 15 to 25 pounds, depending on the baby. Fit mine from 3 months until around 18 months.

  • where can i buy the pattern you are using

  • Is the soaker pad just a face towel?

  • @RetroSoulSista No, it's micro terry, but you can use towel material if you like. You can even use old towels. It'll soak up stuff all the same ; }

  • This is THE BEST diaper tute I've watched and I've watched so many! I had almost given up hope of being able to make one but you have explained it so clearly that I feel motivated to tackle this TODAY! THANK YOU!!!

  • @lusiaustin Oh my gosh, thank you! I hoped that I came across clear to my viewers, and I'm glad that I have. Let me know if you have any more questions, and I will definitely help : ]

  • hello, i love these, but i have a question - how well do they fit bubba, what was the total cost and how many did you make, and what pattern did you use. :)

  • What kind of diaper are you making here? This is the exact one im wanting but i dont know if its called an all in one or what??

  • is this a rainy day cloth diaper pattern

  • Hi, Which kind of fabric do you use to do the outside and which kind for the inside? All the best*^_^*

  • @dandradelima1978 hello! I use PUL as the waterproof outside and either cotton flannel or cotton velour as the lining. You can use a variety of different fabrics tho, like anti-pill fleece for the outside and any sort of soft cotton for the inside, then just stuff it with terry cloth towels sewn together or just folded into thirds. Check out verybaby.com - they sell EVERYTHING you'll need and recommend certain fabrics for your diapers in the product descriptions. Hope that helps : ]

  • @ArmindaHeart Thank you so much!!! This helps a lot. All the best *^_^*

  • If I wanted to make this and use snaps as the closure, how do those go on?

  • @mariajlamarche You're going to need a button press, which costs a chunk of money. I bought mine at verybaby.com. I love it!!

  • @mariajlamarche Kamsnaps.com sells snaps, a snap press, or hand snap press that is similar to pliers. I bought mine useed on ebay but Kamsnaps areon Ebay as well and a very good price. I like the size 16 snaps, 20 seems too big. Verybaby.com is a great supplier but sold out of presses right now. They have great patterns too.

  • I purchased this pattern because of your video. I'm really happy with how simple it is, even with the rolled elastic leg holes =) Just waiting on my fabric to make some of these up. Might post a video IDK yet

  • @Amandandoug YAY!! This pattern has many different options to choose from, which is why I like it! You should definitely do a tutorial : D

  • @ArmindaHeart

I'm still waiting on my Micro fleece for the inner part of my diapers I'm going to make. It's been a week from Wazoodle and they are STILL saying in process on my order even though I've already paid through Paypal -.-

At least everything else has came in, so I'm working on going ahead and cutting out all of my PUL layers =) I'm only making Smalls and Larges so I'm easily going to get about 6 diapers per yard of PUL =D

  • My sister is expecting in 6 months I may pull out my sewing macine and make her a load of these and surprise her with them. Thanks for sharing dear.

  • thank you for the tutorial i was soooo confused about elastic

  • @ksaldivar89 You can also use foldover elastic if turning and topstiching is not prefered. Verybaby.com has it in white but I have found it online in colors from other companies.

  • can you get the pattern for free love the video

  • Thank you SO much for making this video. I appreciate you taping ALL of it instead of just basic info. I'm more of a Visual person....and this video put things i've been reading into perspective. Thanks again. My newborn will appreciate you teaching me, and my husband will as well as I won't be draining the bank account on diapers this time LOL

  • @SvetlanaKoscova oh, you are so welcome, honey! I'm glad I was helpful to you, and not confusing : ]

  • Great tutorial! I can't believe I didn't see this one before! I am so tempted to buy a pattern, I just started drafting my own from the Rita's Rump Pattern. Yep, I definitely want to try out the PUL diaper again! LOL Thank you for pointing that out, I would have ended up wasting some more! But, the diaper I have actually works, what can happen if I have it on the outside like I do? Ahhh, I could scream when it comes to all of the different types of diapers and combination's you can use!

  • where did youget the cloth diaper pattern?

  • where u get your pul material?

  • super impressed!! I have avoided clothe diapers only because of the cost! Does it cost about the same to make them as to buy them? i know material can get expensive! If it is cheaper i will consider switching to them and using your video for reference on how to make them!! Thank you so much for the video!

  • @sugercube12000 it cost me about $45 to make 6 diapers, so that's just over $7 per diaper. I bought some cloth diapers on e-bay, and they are very nice, but it cost me $20+ per diaper. if it's not worth the trouble of making them, just buy them. sewing them was a fun project for me. it was my first time, even though i got a little help from my mom lol.

  • Was able to watch it all today! Great tutorial! I can sew but was a little intimidated to try making cloth diapers. I'm actually considering it now if I end up needing any more.

  • @JessC00k if you can already sew, you'll be fine. i learned how to sew by making these lol!! so i think you'll be just fine.

  • super cute. great tutorial. ty

  • @pinkpengi78 i'm glad you liked it!

  • Hmm... YouTube isn't letting me watch past :57 ! I was really excited to watch this video too! How cool that you are making them yourself!

  • @JessC00k just give it some more time and you should be golden. i just uploaded it so it's probably just processing still : )
