This started happening to me right after upgrading to Win 7 64bit. Not sure if its related, but the timing seems to point to yes. Firewall setting, permissions, who knows. The list shows up for me after about 2-3 minutes of hitting refresh.

@Box545x39 Omg same, I installed tf2 on windows 7, but i was having issues with it so i went on my other hard drive (this one) and I installed it on here and it's not showing any servers, I haven't had this issue with the game before and I've played it for almost 200 hours. And yes, it was working fine on the windows 7 drive.

Search TF2 servers on google. Find a server that you like. Copy it and then go into game. when in the game click this button: ~ ` (its eight below the escape key and above the tab key) if the console comes on then type this: connect and then after you type connect press Ctrl v then it should lpok like this: Connect 67.228.59.146:27015 if no console watch my video that i will upload in a minute :D Like this so everyone can see it.

I have somewhat same problem now. It seems not to load any servers, but then suddenly about 10 servers come up and those servers have all the same random map and are full. I had the problem last night too.

Really irritating. Maybe you should find the server IP addresses from Google and connect via console (-console to launch options).

PART 3:

So I uninstalled the **** out of it, and a PC-restart later, I startet TF2. BUt during the start the (now sovereign) firewall asked me, if I should block hl2.exe no longer (of course). And when I looked at the server list, there were servers listed. Also I could surf in-game again.

Problems are probably Anti-Virus progs, which you have to pay for and which test-abonnements run out.

Well I was looking around for tipps to avoid it. And there was something about firewall, which doesn't let pass hl2.exe.

Well I was at the firewall central and it said, I couldn't do anything, it's run by an extern anti-virus program (let's say McAfee).

Well I checked there and I realised, I ahdn't access to any configs. Why? because the test-abbonement run out and I had to pay (it was a new laptop).

what I did was uninstall my anti virus and install another anti virus guard. previously i had McAfee and it was trial so it just stopped working, so I installed avast latest one and walla, all the servers worked again.

If you use Bigfoot's Killer Network Card, make sure it's set to app mode not game mode. I had the same problem and once I set app mode, it went away.

I fixed my issue, this works for ANY steam game. If you can't get ANY servers, right click your steam icon in the bottom right corner and click Settings. Then go to whatever tab asks what Location you are in and gives you a tab full of locations to choose. Mine was on US - Los Angeles but I wasn't getting servers so I switched it to US - San Diego and walla, all my servers came back again. Problem solved. Comment me if you need help cause I know how frustrating this can be!

@Wexin09 You need to go to your Router Setup page, contact your router company to figure out what the URL is. On your router setup page you will be able to open your NAT and forward your ports for steam and whatever game on steam you are trying to play << my router company Belkin has an online chat assistance 24/7 that walked me through all of it pretty easily, see if you can do the same. Also, if this doesn't work then disable all your firewalls including your Windows firewall in control panel

@kaboooma12 Then you're problem wasn't the Master Server Location, you need to disable your Firewalls and open your NATS on your router and forward your ports on your router as well. Good luck.

@icemaster168 Here's a few ideas to help, utilize them all if you want a reliable fix to your issues: 1- Open your Steam folder and delete "ClientRegistry.Blob" so it'll update your Steam along with the Master Server next time you start Steam. 2- Change to any/every city/location you can until servers finally show up. 3- Reinstall Steam. 4- Check all firewall settings, virus protection prog's, and Windows Firewall setting to see if your Nat is restricted and to forward ports on your router.

I also just purchased a new laptop 2 weeks ago, and my desktop always gives me problems with my server list, sometimes i'll get 1400+ servers and sometimes I'll get 400, but on my laptop I always get 1400+ servers so I don't know... If you are on a wireless USB adapter for internet that MAY be the problem cause my desktop is.

Im having the same frikkin' problem, and last night it was working perfectly, the only problem last night was that the server list wasnt showing up, so I just used the Quick play button to jump into a random game, that worked fine. @tony99killer i found out why, go to control panel, type in Mouse, go to Change Mouse Settings, go to Pointer Options, and UNtick the Display Pointer Trails, this worked for me, But if that wont work i dont know how to help you

ok i had the same problem and fixed it this way:

go to steam folder in C:/program files

than find a file clientregistry.blob

delete that file

than go back and press right click on a steam folder and uncheck the Read Only check box and apply to all files and subfolders

now ruzn steram again let it update again and create a new clientregistry.blob and go to tf2 and play...

(it seams the problem is in not beig able to create again that file since it was set to read only)
