Besides a lack of civic knowledge being disturbing, there are a few issues I take with this video. One, the ISI claims to be non-partisan but their website looks like a list of conservative ideals (the thing about a lack of faith in god furthers my skepticism on this). Second, as a law student currently taking Con Law, we did read the Constitution, but mostly Con Law is about interpreting the Constitution. Unless you're Scalia, you aren't going to just study the literal words of the document.
Great video. I see ignorance everyday in the public schools. Student behavior and the lack of discipline is the number one cause students aren't learning. Unfortunately, many parents do not give one ounce of effort towards teaching their children. Children's minds are polluted with mainstream media filth. They know who won American Idol, how to freak a Black & Mild, lyrics to all the sexually-explicit-drug-and-violence-glorifying lyrics, but they can't do elementary tasks in high school. :'(
Hey - Glad that you found this... hope you find it helpful.... High School or College ? Did you find the video yourself or did teacher or prof point you to it?
Well, frankly, I don't see what believing in god has to do with citizenship. I go by the first amendment, which clearly states that congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. I find the lack of civic understanding to be dangerous, but this is not a country founded on religion; it was founded on individual liberty and self-determination, and that includes the right not to believe in a deity.
excellent. I have been a large supporter of awareness of our national and global problems and solutions therein. this is a point of view I have neglected, thank you.
I have found all your videos very informative. Thank you for posting them they have really sparked my interest in how we the people need to be responsible for the future of our country.

I took the ISI Civics Literacy Exam. OMG! It was so simple. It scares me that so many people did so poorly on it.

Of course keeping us dumbed down about the most basic and fundamental principles isn't on purpose right?
