i bought one for my wasr-10, 200 rounds no problems with it whatsoever, feels smother while im firing too. you people bitching about it must have put it on wrong or got a cheap one.
I just installed it in my yugo, its a cheap upgrade and if it gives me problems I'll just remove it...do you still have your buffer? does it give you any problems? thanks.
i installed a buffer on a yugo m70 ak & on a bulgarian akm74. Fired 100to150 rounds thru each just to break in the buffer-trouble from the get go-short stroking & stovepies. After the break in period, i still had the same problems in both rifles. So i removed them from my weapons & my reliabilty was back to 100%. Their are some Great upgrades for AKs, but that is not one.
I've been using buffers for years, first in my 1911, then in my AK . I also have them in both of my SKS rifles. They're good insurance against hot loads fatigueing the receiver. Never experienced any negative effects. The idea is to get polyurethane buffers (not low grade plastic or rubber) they are resilient and nearly indestructible. My choice has been Buffer Technologies....Good video Miller.
The thing about recoil buffers is, there's no way to know they really even work to reduce wear. I've never seen any army who fields an AK use recoil buffers. I bet Kalashnikov would scoff at the idea of a having a recoil buffer in an AK.
@esh325 Ok. I saw in other comments someone said they saw soldiers in Eastern Europe with pieces of truck tire they used for buffers, because they keep the bolt from sticking open. A buffer fixed that problem on my AK, but I'm not sure if it helps soften recoil or prevent wear on the weapon.
@willbond By the bolting sticking open, you mean sometimes when charge the rifle on an empty chamber the bolt gets stuck? It's not really an issue. I wonder how long a piece of tire will hold up?
@esh325 The bolt was sticking when it was all the way back. It was coming up out of the rails a little. Apparently it is a common problem, and apparently the buffer is a common fix. The buffer keeps the bolt from coming all the way back.
The buffer is supposed to stop the metal on metal contact. If you are having issues with your bolt slamming against that rear trunion you will probably need a new recoil spring, these are also good if your bolts are sticking. The designer of the AK was aware of buffers being available, and there is a reason why he chose to not put one in. Some rifles have no rear contact with trunion adding this can make contact 100% and it may or may not loosen the rivets in your trunion.
i have had very bad experience with those, in every gun i used them in it caused it to short stroke which caused FTFs.........If the AK needed anything else bolted on it Mikhail Kalashnikov would have done it.
i mowed down an entire 300 zombies today while runnin and gunnin in the west desert. but alas my gun's eotech quite working so i stopped shooting and cried until mommy came and fixd my gun soz i could play moar
@TMHonfire102 niggas shooo i been rapin around no body ever get on skype anymoar =( lol but i be you faggots been gettin on at like 3 am and shit....i be sleepin then
i have similar buffer on my "AK", its all good, had it since i got the rifle really, has no ill effect on reliability of the firearm but does make the recoil feel less intense. :)
kinda makes you wonder how old these rifles are and havent really had any problems why you would you install the buffer? why fix whats not broke. i understand trying to improve a system but it doesnt need it just my thought again good vid
After watching a few slow mo videos, I noticed a few times that the bolt carrier doesn't even touch the receiver. However, I imagine that recoil springs vary greatly and this is more likely than not a good investment, especially if they're good for 5k rounds.
Get a hand select p6 and you pay a little for the selection but you can get one that is practically new, they have a lot of history to them, read about them, very interesting and great firearms they are

WHAT IF YOU PUT TWO IN ONE AK-47
josmeach 9 months ago
a friend told me adding this buffer also reduces recoil on his saiga .308. have you had similar results?

I bought an SKS recoil buffer from Blackjack Buffers. Fitment was perfect, price was very affordable, and functions well.
SergeantZippo 1 year ago
those plastic buffer pads for AKs are not recomended they will cause your gun to misfeed when you get rockin and rollin.
the slap of the bolt against the rear of the receiver helps jolt the magazine to better the bullet feed when the gun is hot and dirty.
retarding the bolt fly back with a buffer is ok for controlled rifle range use but not for a life or death confrontation.
that's why all AKs in the Russian arsenal. police and military do not use them.
goober0000 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
100 million AK 47s manufactured and distributed for tactical use but not one of them left the factory with a plastic buffer pad.
The stats speak for themselves.
I'll keep my AKs hitting on metal, those buffer pads will cause a mis-feed under fire and that could be fatal.
If you used your AK47 in real field conditions you would know this.

@millerusaf
i got one on my io.to be honest it dont help with recoil.all it did was help from metal not hitting metal plus it kinda shorten the action.

@willbond Most of time I see a Russian field strip his AK, there's no buffer. The buffer isn't mentioned in the field manuals.

My buffer lasted 13,000 round then it felt apart, if using this on a full auto AK rifle it increases the rate for fire a little.
