@artmutt26 black metal was never supposed to be any certain way, saying something like that forces unoriginality and repitition. You can't really lay fault to the new american wave of "black metal" bands who incorporate post rock etc.. Those bands are expanding the tired template of early 90's black metal and taking it in new directions which I, for one, quite enjoy. And then again you have bands like Diocletian who douse this template in black/death filth, which I also love. Be open to it all.
