The not-so-great news: It’s going right back into 8 p.m. against CBS’ Big Bang Theory.

So anyways they're almost done filming the 3rd season, last I checked they had four episodes to go. Dan Harmon said he thinks the chances of it getting renewed are 50/50. I imagine that means the last episode of season 3 will act as a series finale if need be since they won't announce if they're renewing it before filming ends. Just so everyone who doesn't follow the news like I do knows what going on, hope is not lost and even if it is we'll still probably at least get some closure.

As much as I would like to believe that it's just not true... with ratings at an all time low and it being "temporarily" benched from the mid-season line up (HUGE SIGN OF CANCELLATION) it's time for you caringtype1 to be the fucking caring type and help the show that you claim to "LOVE" by putting on your big boy pants and signing the petition! yeah I see your side, but the haitus was announced by in May, so the fact that NBc put the show on the air in the fall is a good sign. Id be trying to save community when its in danger of not being renewed or if (god forbid) it gets canceled. I just don't get why this is all happening at such a random time.

@caringtype1 The hiatus was announced in November, not in May. Community is very much in danger of getting cancelled. What kind of fan are you when you'd rather petition to bring a show back instead of petitioning for it not to get cancelled in the first place??

No the hiatus was on NBC.com since may. And i guess renewing it, and putting it on the air is a good sign that its going to be canceled. I am the BIGGEST fan of this show, but the ratings don't justify a free pass.

@caringtype1 Renewing it for one season (this season) does not guarantee that it will be a season 4. Even one of the writers of the show admitted that she has no idea whether or not the show will get another season. NBC completely left out Community in its report in November, which shows a lack of interest or a move away from it. The reason NBC is the last place cable network is because of its failure to realize the good shows it has as opposed to the shitty ones.

@caringtype1 Also, community is much too cerebral of a show than the average American viewer cares for. It'll be next to impossible to convince people that a show that pokes fun at the metaculture of television will be better viewing than a fart joke.

I love it more than you do, but nothing has changed since may that would give someone the impression that community would be canceled. I think that we should the network do its job and come back with these campaigns if the show gets canceled. Also you are very rude, obnoxious, and stupid.

@caringtype1 It's a million times harder to get a show to come back after it's cancelled. The smart thing to do is campaign when there are signs that it will be cancelled like right now. We have to make sure they get the message before the infrastructure of the show is taken down, look how long it took for Family Guy and Futurama to come back. And it's a lot easier with Animated shows. It would be nearly impossible to bring back Community once it's cancelled.
