Yeah, probably because there is still so much singing still going on, and not much in the way of guitar or bass going on.. In other words, it's not technically a 'Big Rock Ending', just a ridiculously beastly drum ending. I can't wait to kill myself just trying to play it on Hard.

The had a BRE for Run To The Hills, and the singer was still... well, singing.

Not really, actually. He's basically just holding a note from the previous word once the BRE begins. In Painkiller, he's clearly still singing entirely different words, meaning the vocalist would still have phrases that needed to be charted before the drum solo began. Also, as I stated earlier, there's no real impressive guitar or bass charting once the drum solo begins. They could have probably managed to make it a BRE, but it wouldn't have matched the original track properly.

GAh.. I mean 'charted once the drum solo began'. I just watched it again, though, and it looks like they could have worked out the vocalist/drummer dynamic, but again there really isn't much guitar/bass until the final note, so it wouldn't have sounded right.
