  • Bravo.

  • Man i want this as a ring tone. i would be so greatful if you could make it availlable for download or maybe for sale? :D

  • I wish this would play at epic moments in my life

  • Have you done Eastenders Paul?

  • Any chance of Goosebumps??? :)

  • Yet another request PLEEEEEZE!

Please put Yellow Brick Road on your maybe-to-do list.

Elton John plays such wonderful melodies I KNOW you would do them justice.

  • CS80 for the bass would be a dream come true for this theme

  • thats great !!! well done

  • Tune of the faggot.

  • You might enjoy playing at a "Cult TV" convention! There's also a group called "305 alive" for early TV and the "Test card Circle" for fans of this music.

  • Love all your videos. Thx a lot.

  • FLOATING HANDS :O

  • Hey Paul panorama looks pretty easy, as it is just a repetition any chance of a tutorial please

  • @computersolutions164 I'm not sure how well it would would on 'clean' piano without the strings. What do you think?

  • @paulwwells I see what you mean, I think but the melody looks quite simple, so you could "tut" that bit, I have a strings setting on my keyboard so I can mimic the sound you are creating Paul. This piece was designed more for violins than piano's but I know what you mean. You could just tell us the melody notes please - lol

  • Nicely Done. Any chance of you doing world in action?

  • @MrBritUSA world in action is only a few seconds long - but I have thought about doing it. I'll do some more tv themes including world in action soon.

  • Thanks Paul. The intro is short, The outro is much longer and more intricate to play.

But I believe you could pull it off.

  • @paulwwells I think "World In Action" is a song by Mountain called Nantucket Sleigh Ride

  • @paulwwells I see you already did World in Action:

    ?v=0ss-ZO4cBlw

  • I just can't stop playing this - amazing !!!

  • I suppose you have seen Bill Baileys version of the BBC news theme, on his 'Part Troll' tour?

  • Yes. Very funny too.

  • I hate to ask but do u think you may get round to the 1998 Londons Burning theme??

  • That's some brilliant improv there. Reminds me of Bill Bailey's take on the BBC News 24 theme! With a bit more production that could be a club hit, which would be somewhat ironic

  • Oh, and I'd love to see jeremy vine body popping or raving to this, that would be hilarious

  • Excellent any chance of doing the queation time request.. Nice playing fella

  • It's up there

    watch?v=TIyHZ5UQ6KI

  • Wow!

  • I got a good one for you, the theme tune to Question Time, it's probably my favourite, it's in A minor if that helps, I can play it on guitar but I reckon you could do it much better

  • Funny you should say that because I had been thinking about it recently

  • Amazingly played, this is as good as the current theme of Panorama. Soooo Good

  • The current version is very short. I know that viewer attention span is short these days but they have pruned it too much.

  • I've done it now. Thanks again for the suggestion. It had better be in A - I didn't check :)

  • Could you do the BBC "Casualty" Theme? Sorry if you have done it

  • You're not the first to ask for Casualty. It's a tough one because it relies on several tunes with different sounds playing at the same time.

  • yes but the core of the song, or the foundation is held together by the piano, the rest are back beats. Im sure you are more than capable of coming up with something?

  • Your base-work at :46 is AWSOME!!! I'm sure you'd make just as good of a basist as you do pianist!!!

  • Thanks SyINYC - thanks for commenting on this bass line part, I don't know why most pianists seem to give weak attention to the bass line.

  • Paul, you seriously have a gem of an ear. I myself play by ear... and something's telling me that you also tap into that world a little... especially based on your exquisite arrangements!!!!

  • Absolutly fantastic! Would be nice to have some of these tracks as MP3's

  • Aujourd'hui C'est Toi excellent!!!!!!!!!

  • Seriously mate, you need to remix this with some serious textured layers and release it as a single, and trust me you will make a fortune. Remember, u heard it here first

  • Thank you; I know what you mean, the only stumbling block would be getting the BBC to allow me to use their tune.

  • It doesn't belong to the BBC

  • A shocking decline in the quality of TV theme tunes over the last 25 years has been uncovered by our team of investigators. Some in the industry are now calling for t...

lolll - do you remember Alas smith & Jones late eighties version ?

  • I just did a quick search but cannot find it. It sounds like the sort of thing they would do.

  • Now uploaded! - A link seems impossible so search: 'Aujourd'hui C'est Toi' - 'Panorama' theme

  • cont....However this version doesn't have the famous melody running through it, neither do the chord changes correspond exactly to the Panorama theme. Perhaps these were changed to accommodate the melody was added. I could upload it to youtube if anyone is interested.

  • I'm certainly very interested in where this music came from.

  • Yes good work! I'm interested in the relationship between the Panorama theme as we know it, and the French tune which seems to have inspired it, the non-vocal version of , 'Aujord- hui C'est Toi'. This featured on the soundtrack of the film 'Une Homme et un Femme' (A Man and a Woman) in 1966, composed by Francis Lai, and the soundtrack album became something of a an easy listening bestseller...cont

  • You might think this is a good theme for Panorama-and it is-but for those a bit longer in the tooth, many moons ago in the 1960's Panorama used the opening of Rachmaniniov's Symphony No.1, Movement 4, Allegro Con Fuoco-listen to that and ask yorself which is better.

They have it here on Youtube

  • A search for 'Rachmaninioff Allegro Con Fuoco' throws up some options. I'm not familiar with this piece. On the one hand, the 15 second slot as a theme wouldn't do it justice, but would raise awareness to people like me.

  • You haven't spelled Rachmaninov properly-I noticed too I added an extra "i" on a previous post-confirm it's SERGEI RACHMANINOV

  • Alternatively you can go onto the Panorama website on the BBC and search for "Impact On Earth" from 1969 which Robin Day presented and watch the intro-its Rachmaninov.Even the current Panaorama team who list the various theme tunes were unaware of Rachmaninov being used in the distant past-but I remembered it as a boy -so they will update the theme tune history of the programme in due time.

  • Okay, that is simply brilliant. 5 stars.

  • nice the way he drops the drums in, this fucker is shit hot

  • GOD SCREW MY CASIO Privia-110 I want what u got, i will take 10 !

  • EXCELLENT!!! I have watched all your clips I would buy a cd if all these where on it! Are you uploading any more? my kids love the cbeebies, I would like to hear a few more british comedy themes. the Hammer house of horror would be a cool tune to hear, I look forward seeing MORE!!

  • I've added Hammer House to the list. I remember the programme but cannot remember the tune without checking.

  • Thanks for your reply. I will look forward to hearing them many thanks and keep up the good work. All the best.

  • I'd LOVE to hear the Hammer House of Horror theme tune as it would sound brilliant on your keyboard!!

  • Ha! That is officially brilliant. where the drum kicks in u shud do a panorama rap. wud be jokes! Well done

  • I can't believe you are not a pro you must be you are too good to just keep this talent locked up at home. I played your generation game rendition on my radio show this afternoon i was so impressed by it. I hope you didn't mind but you are good have you ever thought of doing a bit of Bruce Forythe type jazz piano? A touch of the Jamie Cullem? Keep it up.

  • Kenny Kirkland and Tomorrows World are as near as I get to Jazz (so far) - Bruce is good in his own way :)

  • Gosh this is really well done. It would give me the chills when I was younger! Too bad the program isn't as good as it once was!

  • I suddenly developed the urge half way through the opening stanza to say "tonight on Panoroma". Seriously though, this is amazing. (lots of rating stars)

  • It's quite a chilling tune, used to scare me when I was young. It must be the augmented 4ths which do it.

  • Verdraaid goede compositie inderdaad.

  • Absolutely brilliant! *****

  • Thanks :)

  • Amazing.Paul do you work at the BBC.?

  • Sorry - I'm not a professional musician

  • Well done once again hehe. You're right! What has happened to TV themes? What happened to the Crimewatch theme? It's gone awful!

  • I hope it's just a phase and as television comes under more pressure from rival media it will have to invest in real music again.

  • I love these News dramatic themes. Could you play any of the ITV themes World in Action? Or Tales of the Unexpected, Danger UXB? Thanks again for some great entertainment.

  • I really like this one! Just wondering, how old were you when you started learning?

  • Thanks. Well I had my first toy piano when I was 3; but there have been long periods when I stopped playing. I've really only taken it up again in the last two years.

  • lol i like the beats :)

and it really feels like im watching panorama

  • Give it time and the BBC will revamp Panorama and it will end up sounding something like this :)

  • :) Lol That Would Be Cool

  • I am listerning to your new work

  • LMAO at the info section!
