Beagles are the best, mine is 17 months old and I couldn't imagine my life without him. He does crazy, random stuff that makes me laugh all day and oh boy is he naughty, if there's a shoe on offer he's off in a flash down to the end of the garden with it so he can have a chew.

one thing i read, however. they need a companion. it doesn't have to be another beagle, just another dog. if they can't have one, then they need a lot of attention by their owner and lots of exercise. in other words, a high maintainance dog. they have very few ailments, just lots of company. overall, a wonderful breed of dog.

Once they are adults and trained, they will hold it all day, rather than mess in their home. Be warned though, they are very stubborn, but will learn quickly if food is involved, as they will do anything for a treat
