what a great movie "Jaws" was. I have watched it over 5 times over the years-never tire of it. Definitely one of Spielberg's best. And yes , indeed, Robert Shaw was the best.. the very essence of an old salt., played beautifully. Without him "Jaws" would have just been a scary movie about a man eating shark.

I thought I knew everything there was to know about this movie..like the one that Robert Shaw was really drinking whiskey when he was talking about the Indianapolis and the first take he was so drunk that they had to wait till the next day to shoot it.. But he was still the best sea capt bar none..
