I have a Walthers Viewliner car. Do you notice that these cars have a curve over the top as if the car was being bend down on both ends. Is this a defect???
what decoder is in the p42? good sound in a loco that definately needs it,, great vid. also, i adore the 610 ac csx loco, absolutely beautiful weatherin job. thnx man.
Hey thanks for the comment, it was a while ago, so I don't remember which one exactly, but it was an MRC drop-in decoder. It worked great right out of the package. It comes with a boat load of engines and horns so you should be able to find the one you need. I think mine said GP-45 on it? Not sure though, like I said, was a while back.
Lights are out because they aren't wired yet. I need to figure out how to get the bulbs to work right with the decoder. It put too much power to the first set and blew them. I need to step down the decoders function power, or get different bulbs, or something. Any suggestions?
Well if the P42 was originally a DC model, I'm thinking the bulbs need to be changed to LED or a DCC friendly bulb as I know some DC loco bulbs can't handle the voltage change. At least that's how it was with my DC Proto 2000 GP 38-2.
Your welcome. As you search for cars you'll find that the Viewliner is hard to come by. I recomend looking on ebay for it. keep checking once or twice a week. One will show up. Also, remember to use Amfleet II, not Amfleet I.
One thing that's not in the list is the sound system that I used. It was an MRC "drop in" Sound decoder and speaker set, and then added a larger speaker, also from MRC. There is PLEANTY of room in that locomotive for almost any standard HO decoder, as well as speakers.
If you look at the video description, you'll find a link to the product listing in walthers database. There is a link for each car and locomotive used. The locomotive is first on the list.
'yeah, it does tend to be a bit behind schedule most of the time I've gone to ride it. The service on it is always wonderful though. Most of my trips will either start or end in Prince Station WV, which is one of the stations im building for this model. Beautiful scenery there.
A the beggining of the video where there was no sound, I accedentely turned up the volume all the way. btw, nice layout.

No. It isnt a defect. Thats how the real cars were made. They were made like that to prevent sagging of the carbody when it had a full load.

Wow, very realistic. This is a very hard train to catch in real life, although I did see it in Washington a few months ago.
