Excellent work. I had got as far as disassembling mine and having a look and a probe to see how it worked. I had guessed it was time-of-flight and thought the CF325 was a time to digital converter. I look forward to loading up your software and having a play.
Looks like the MC33596FCAE part is a replacement for it, or something like.

Unfortunately MC33596FCAE has nothing common with part I'm looking for, and I afraid that CF325 isn't a part number at all...
