  • I absolutly love your video's, there very easy to understand and your very talented yourself :] keep it up :] you have talent.

  • wHERE IS 28+?

  • i have ALOT of trouble keeping on the same plane.. is there any secret to it?? any advice at all is appreciated :) great tutorial....

  • @FOREVERxSWIFT

Just try to keep rotating your wrists in the necessary circles, too many people keep their hands rigid, you need to keep circling them. If you're having trouble still, stand next to a wall that is parallel to the plane you want to keep and that should help guide your planes correctly.

  • @FOREVERxSWIFT

You can try spinning your poi in front of a wall. Grab your poi and spin in either direction facing the wall and poi in between you and the wall, sideways and if you want backwards. This forces you to learn the muscle memory to keep objects in the same plane.

Know this may sound weird but it really helps.. Let me try to put it in a different way so that you may understand (if you already haven't.)

    1. Face Wall

    2. Spin in your front plane

    3. Close gap between you and wall

    4.Repeat

  • dude, awsome lessons. thanks alot! and do u have a lesson 28, it just skips from 27 to like 30 something.

  • I have the biggest crush on you. I'm just starting out with poi, but I've watched many of your videos this far because I just love listening to you talk. :)

  • Wow, thanks! I appreciate the compliment.

  • 1:19-1:55 u look like a bobble head :P

    but thanks helps alot

  • merci beaucoup pour cette démonstration, pas facile!!! grâce à vous, j'apprends plein de chose..; thank you

  • vous êtes très bienvenus! Merci pour les mots gentils, il est beaucoup apprécié.

  • One of the most difficult things for my poor shoulders...

But I have to thank you for the patience and the constancy of making and uploading all your tutorials... (yeah, I know, probably my english sucks.. :o) )

I'm having big problems with the buzzsaw variations...but I thing that a little efforce to gain something...well...increases the satisfaction and the joy when you reach that target.

So..thank you and keep doing Poi!

Really funny too! (you)(and Poi of course) :o)

  • No, your English is better than most of my friend's who apparently have it as their native tongue. Yeah, flowers are a pain in the shoulders, but the extra possibilities it opens up for your poi spinning make it worth it.

And I agree, the longer spent on trying to get something increases the satisfaction and relief when you finally achieve it. And thanks for the compliments.

  • so you slow down when you want them two spin?

  • Do you mean same-time spinning? I slow down when I do that because I find it harder.

  • no sorry i was tired when i wrote that but i meant when you make the large circle to the small one do you slow down a bit and then go back to large circle?

  • Yeah, you slow your arms to allow the poi time to complete a smaller rotation before you start your arms rotating again.

  • ok thanks =)

  • hey nathaniel, got a question about anti-spin flowers(?) e.g. where poi are spinning anticlockwise, but your arms are going clockwise. do you ever do these, and if so, how do you make sure that there are only 4 petals? when i do it there always seem to be an "extra" petal added. do you know what i mean, or would i need to upload a video? P.S. i've learned almost every poi movie i know from your videos so many thanks! ;)

  • Ya, I do antispin flowers all the time, in fact, the other day I went to do some regular flowers, but I just couldn't stop doing anti-spin because I use them in preference of regular spin so often. To make it 4 petals, follow the same method that this video shows, but move your hands in the reverse direction to anti-spin the poi. I know what you mean, it'll just take some time and practice. I plan on making a tutorial for anti-spin soon, but I'm having troubles with my editing software.

  • bangin' hat

  • hey nathan i have been glowsticking for like 3 months now and im decent at it, but i have no clue what the tricks are called or what split time means but any way do you know any good ways of learning BTB five beat weave or at least a two beat?

  • Cool as man, split time is basically when the poi are alternating, one high while the other is low, as you can see in the video. I've got a tute for behind the back weave coming up real soon man, it'll teach you 2 beat and 3 beat btb and how to turn with it. Hope it helps.

  • thanks man

  • Good shit mate.

  • yeahhhhh.... that "same direction split time high real 360 pirouette" looks awesome.... but I sense a painful outcome if I try it...

  • I dunno, I haven't seen it named anywhere, it's basically just same-direction high-reels with a 360 pirouette. So I guess if you wanna be technical, "same direction split time high reel 360 pirouette" is the name of that move, lol. But "360 high turn" is just as good, lol.

  • what is that move at the very end where you spun around 360 really fast? 360 high turn maybe?

  • Thanks for the ideas ;) as usual, nice tutorial :P
