  • Nice axe. But white binding with chrome hardware looks best. imho.

  • this IS the best guitar thats ever been made!!

  • hey can someone please explain to me why this ebony fretboard is so superior to any other ebony fretboard i have ever played? what makes it so unique. its like your fingers glide on it. i know that its an expensve axe but for some reason on this type of wood or finish feels this way. i have played many other guitars with ebony fboards but none feel like this. are there any more guitar brands with a similar fretbord. not just ebony, but with this type of feel its like synthetic but in a good way

  • js really wanted the guitar. sory if i came across as rude there.

  • @kssork You didn't come across as rude...and I am serious about going through old videos and fixing them...good luck with your search!

  • well then why would you keep "im seeling it" on the description? just saying.

  • @kssork This is one of my earliest videos and while I have a system down now of posting videos, I didn't then...I fixed it though...and if I ever get some free time I'll go back and check the first hundred or so videos...sorry for the confusion...

  • how much are you lookin to get for it?

  • @kssork It's been gone for over 3 years...

  • damn i wish i was rich

  • @TheShelby987 Don't we all?

  • Nice playing and great sounding Les Paul. I think I'd miss the traditional middle position tone, but still, wow, it sounds nice.

  • @1Doz Thanks! You can get all the possible options if you re-wire it...lots of people take these 3 pickup models and wire 3 volumes and one overall tone...and with some push pull pots the possibilities are almost endless...I do miss this one...Sam Ash bought it way back when they had lost the Gibson line...I needed the money and they needed Gibson's on their walls...oh well, it was fun to play for a while...

  • ne vend pas c'ette merveille mec tu est fou!

  • @alca61 I could not afford to keep it for myself... :-( ...but it was nice to play for a while...I am always buying/selling guitars...it is a blessing to be able to try so many! (try translate.google.com because my French is bad) Thanks for watching!

  • @greengtrs ho ok dude sorry ;)

  • ne vend pas c'ette merveuille mec tu est fou!

  • Im waiting this guitar at my home. its awsome!

  • Do not sell this guitar - you will regret it the rest of your life. Sit down, crack a beverage and play it. You will miss it when it's gone, trust me.

  • @MrCharbs It's long gone...shortly after this video. I only regret letting it go so cheap ($2500)...it was very cool, but I prefer simpler guitars...less inlays...and Rosewood fingerboards...thinner bodies...less weight...and I don't usually like a middle pickup (except Strat's and sometimes Firebirds). There are a bunch of guitars I regret letting go though...but I have lots of fun looking for replacements too. Thanks for watching!

  • I think you're playing is fantastic man. great

  • @Robtron3030 Thanks so much...it's good to be appreciated and encouraged!

  • Nice axe! Black Beauties are always a show stopper!

  • Holy shit?

  • I'd rather look at that beauty all day than the Mona Lisa

  • @Glockenator :-)

  • @Glockenator well the Mona Lisa is ugly anyway but i see what ur sayin.

  • @Glockenator Dude mona lisa is just an ugly ass girl, I preffer watching this all day than watching porn! Lol.

  • @Macsk8ing Good point. The Mona Lisa is ugly. And this is guitarist porn at it's best, so I see what you're saying

  • is this a decent guitar to play metal on in tunings like drop c or b

  • @BGSXboxx The right strings (probably a 10-52 set at least) with the nut probably cut (widened to accommodate thicker than normal gauges) set up just right with the right amp and it could work great...I could see it working for me at least...a lot of it is touch (how you play it)...anything could work if you wanted it to...you could use a Tele if you wanted to...no rules...just whatever feels and sounds right for you. Have fun!

  • @greengtrs okk thnx

  • @greengtrs well right now i use my SG with a set of 10's and i can put it in drop b alright, would this work with 11's or 10's, and do the pick ups sound to mid-y or over tone-y ?

  • @BGSXboxx Buy it (not this one as it is long gone), try a set of 10-52's on it and I bet you'll like it...but I don't have it anymore, so I can't give you specifics...and I like a lot of midrange...that's what makes a guitar cut through the mix!

  • @BGSXboxx Dude are you stupid? This beauty deserves normal tunings and not c or b shit

  • @RigorMortis203 Are YOU stupid? A beautiful guitar deserves any tuning. I don't see what changes the beauty there. If it was always in standard tuning it would get old and it would mean your not a good enough guitarist to play in diferent tuning.

  • @BGSXboxx

    That would b Rape

  • @BGSXboxx

    7H47 WoUl_d B R4p3!

  • @DanielSanHBA if you mean that would be rape ikr! BMTHHH

  • d*O*b WOW!

  • HOLY CRAP YOU SOLD THAT!!!!!!!!!!! omg look you had it though!!

  • how much did u sell it for?

  • @DunKillMePlz $2500...way too low for this one...but that's how it goes sometimes...

  • @greengtrs Do you ever sell to guitar stores? Maybe GuitarCenter would've bought it for more, maybe not, they can be cheapskates, but maybe other places would dig it

  • @Noseheros Sam Ash bought this one for fair market value in an open/no reserve auction on eBay. My advice for anyone is not to sell your guitar (back) to a place like Guitar Center...or just about any store for that matter...they (at least most stores) give you next to nothing for it but once they have it they want twice the going market price...eliminate the middle man and sell it yourself on eBay or Craigslist...or sell it to me... :-)

  • @greengtrs 'Sympathy for the greengtrs'

  • you should donate that guitar to charity...the DrDoubleZero-needs-a-gibson-les-paul-custom-3-pick-up-gold-accessory-piece-of amazing-ness-from-heaven......im just sayin,,,,

  • AU YEE,FANTASTIC!

  • man i'd kill everyone to have that baby!

  • THAT GUITAR MAKES ME CRAZY, MY GOD WHAT A QUEEN

  • I do not like the gold trim.

  • that headstock is a dream

  • Someone's taping in the background

  • great guitar

  • how much is it

  • how much is it

  • beauty guitar ....OMG, i wish my les paul was like that....unfortunately is a standard, but it still rocks you off your feet

  • Is the guitar for still for sale? How much ?

  • is that still for sale?? if how much

  • very cool really :)

  • Dude what are you thinking, Id sell my kidneys before I sold that, its beauty and art fused into one.

  • @mandaltby I just have to go with the "I am blessed to get to play all these cool guitars" mentality or I'll go crazy...I've had so many incredible guitars pass through my hands...it was an amazing guitar...the nicest 3 pickup LP I've ever had my hands on (and I've had my hands on a bunch of them)...oh well, at least I got to play it and this gives me something to remember it by...wish I would have had the camcorder I use now for it though...the recording quality here sucks... Have a great day!

  • @greengtrs Are there any guitars you have that you wouldnt ever sell?

  • @lumaric01 Look for the videos of my green 1991 PRS (#300/300 of the original) Limited Edition Semi-Hollow Signature Series...that is my main electric guitar and has been since I got it...I personally chose the top from stacks of wood and ordered it with every feature (but one) that I wanted. I didn't get the flame maple veneer over the headstock because he told me it would delay it even more than the 9 -10 months it was going to take to make it. There are a few others...Maybe I'll do a video.

  • Learn how to play, man...

There's no use to show off... Stop pulling my nerves.... I hear some background noise... So there's no thing better than good master considering that... All Les Paul having that... I got that amended...

  • @mandaltby ....isnt art supposed to be beautiful?

  • what amp do you use?

  • @hatehomework Look in the more info section under the video (click on any of the writing or the arrows and it expands the section) and I tell all there...thanks for watching!

  • wow man. thats one hell of a guitar. i love the way you play. thanks for makin my day!!

  • @maidenyoung Wow! Thank you very much...you just made my day...and thanks for subscribing!

  • hay whaT kind of pickups it have???????

    paf?burstbuckers???/

  • @chiclepicklejuarez I never looked...whatever would have been stock for that guitar I'm guessing but can't be sure as this guitar is long gone...:-(

  • as soon as i have enough money im buying 1 i love this guitar so much

  • nice playing brother

    and gorgeous guitar

  • @mandaltby Thanks!

  • this shit right here beats the living hell out of Dark Fire and Dusk Tiger (especially the ugly ass dusk tiger!) gibson's goin through a kinda experimental phase aren't they? rock on, awesome video.

  • wow ites so beautiful guitar

if you wanna sell it i would buy it

will you sell it for me in 15000$?

  • ronnie wood is one of the slide guitarist in my opinion

  • thats is def. 1989

  • I dig your picking style. Kinda Derek trucks. NO I don't care for slide guitar. Only Billy gibbons and Warren Haynes slide I like. Maybe Gregg allman's brother................too

  • Thanks! I can't play slide but I sure like (and have been influenced by) some great slide players. Derek is amazing...gave me chills the first time I saw him play live.

Rory Gallagher and Johnny Winter and then Mark Knopfler probably had the biggest influence on my picking style...maybe a little James Taylor too...

  • @bossmxr1 The one and only slide legend Duane Allman you mean???

  • @bossmxr1 Ah, you mean Dwayne?

  • Uhmmm....1989 - 35 = 1954...the year the Les Paul Custom was introduced....hence the 35th Anniversary.

How is it that you think you know more about my guitar than I do?

  • You tell him Howard! :P Great playing and tone man.. That guitar is sure a beauty.

  • Thanks Joe! Keep on rockin!

  • @greengtrs Because this is youtube, with experts, authorities, and gurus on EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN! lol-

  • wish i had enough to buy it

  • very nice i love music

  • bah!, dont listen to those dickheads man you sound pretty good to me.They are just jealous cause you have a nice guitar and they probably have never even had decent jobs. Nice axe by the way, I have to admit though I too am a little jealous

  • why dos he have such of a expensive guitar when he barently knows how to play?

  • As far as i know, all it takes to own "such of a expensive guitar" is the money to purchase it, not talent...and if you read the more info section or even listened all the way through this or some of my other demos you probably wouldn't say that. I am generally just doing a "demo" of the guitar to show that it works before I sell it (as was the case here)...not showing off my skills. Feel free to post a video response here though and show off your abilities to the world!

  • ohh so your selling the guitars alright then

i dont have a camera or camera phone or else i would put a video in (:

and what is a demo ?? isn't it just a taste of how the guitar sounds or what??

  • Yes...when you look at my eBay listings you will see not only lots of clear and large pictures (which you can super-size just by clicking on them), you also get the video "demo"...which is me playing it and demonstrating it...trying to show off the range of sounds, any features (or possible flaws) and that it works...when you buy from me, you KNOW what you are getting...I have 100% positive feedback and go above and beyond to keep it that way. FWIW, the quality of these videos has improved BT!

  • Is this axe still available?

  • No this one is long gone...

  • Thanks a lot i'll take a look even though i don't got the money for it right now :/

  • he's demoing it....

  • what dos "demoing" means?

  • demo-ing (he is doing a demo)

  • your dumb

  • speak nicely about your mom dude??

  • nice licks and amazing tone. i am buying one off the net, only problem is i wont have the chance to play it b4 buying. just wondering what is the akwardness level of middle pu when playing? is it just a matter of getting used to it or would u recomend going for the 2pu one instead?

  • The nicest I can be about this is the answer I gave just below...to me, this is more show than go...it is only one slightly different sound and that pickup gets in my way (and maybe it doesn't for some people and some playing styles) and as far as getting that one extra sound goes, reverse the magnet on one of the pickups and you get a great out of phase sound when you are on both pickups. Check out this demo "The best Gibson Les Paul Classic Gold Top in the world Demo' as that one has that mod.

  • cool

do you sell a epiphone casino?

    or epiphone dot?

  • Just got an old beat up/cut up, but incredibly playable Casino if your interested it is up on eBay right now...click on the more info section of the video for a link to my current offerings.

  • I kinda have a hard time for the three humbuckers, it looks so fat and... I dunno, cramped and stuffed in there.

But damn, that sound is something...!

  • I feel the same about these (when they are good ones...). It's hard for me to deal with that middle pickup...it gets in my way, but I love the extra sound it gets! Thanks for watching and for your nice comments!

  • what does dimasllex mean by fake. wtf. how do you figure its fake. awesome guitar and very nice playing.

  • I don't think dimasllex elevator stops on all floors...

Thanks for watching and for the encouraging comment!

  • Les Paul FAke

  • I've personally held more Gibson Les Paul's in my own hands than you will probably ever see in your entire life.

  • Comment removed

  • This whole Fender vs Marshall thing kind of makes me chuckle. The early Marshalls were EXACT circuit copies of the Fender Bassman amp.

  • Yes...comments made with the eyes and not the ears! It's like taking on a definitive stance on apples being the best fruit (...and then there is the arguing over which type of apple...genre of Marshall...is best) when there are all sorts of other taste sensations among fruits that are amazing too.

  • Well friggin' said!

  • wow I'm really surprised i thought sound quality was going to be pretty terrible but i was really surprised which just goes to show how amazing this guitar sounds

  • Thanks! I have a hard time watching most of my older videos because the sound quality is pretty bad...the first 20 videos I did were with a cheap digital camera set on video mode and you get the clicking sound while the camera tries to focus...the newer ones sound much better. It was a really, really nice guitar among nice guitars.

  • gibson guitar and fender amp ...shame on you !

  • Whatever...pretty absurd comment really...some sort of prefudice going on there and you are not listening...just looiking or something. I've got 80's all Tube Laneys's and Marshall's and I choose to play through this one because it sounds great! Who do you think makes the new EVH amps? Fender KNOWS amps...they make the best clean sounding amps period and they finally figured out how to do great distortion and all I know is that it sounds great to my ears...and really that is all that matters.

  • the guitar bye which ALL other guitars are judged.....iam in love....

  • im gonna get a guitar like that caus its just a awsome guitar you know!

  • thats not a reissue is it ?

looks too mint to be an original 1959 wich is what that model looks like ?

  • It's a 35th anniversary model (of the Les Paul Custom) which would make it a 1989 since the Custom was introduced in 1954. I've got a video here for a real 1956 LP Custom and I'll be posting another one for it soon as it will be going up on eBay on a consignment deal this week.

  • Its an original 1989, dude...

  • awesome playing.

just don't get why 3 pickups

  • Nice guitar bro,

    :)

  • I want to buy your guitar. If he's too much, i'll buy a Epiphone

  • This video is pretty old...one of my first 20...now I'm at 145 and adding more all the time...I got a real videocam at #21. This guitar got sold over a year ago...I am working on getting a near mint '78 LP Custom 2 pickup model in Black...hopefully in a few days...it's probably going to be around $3000.00 USD...maybe a little less...check the link under more infor to show what I currrently have on eBay...I'll be putting up about 12 more guitars in the next few weeks...

    Thanks for watching!

  • do you own a guitar shop or something? or are you just friggin rich? lol

you've alot of awesome guitars! i'm jealous lol

  • I myself am a Fender man... but im not like most ppl who like fender and hate gibson or gibson ppl who hate fender to me its whatever you like the best.

  • Exactly...and for me that changes from moment to moment...I like lots of guitars for different moods and sounds!

  • Once you go black you never go back..jesus thats a nice guitar

  • wow nice set up

  • they still make these, not vintage though...

  • and they're chambered now

  • omg its a real les paul !!

    PLAY GUNS N ROSES FFS

  • Yeah! Les Pauls are not a myth. They do exist!

  • did this bad boy get away how much u want 4 it

  • It got away well over a year ago for $2500. Most of my guitars sell within a few weeks or a month of me making these videos...I try to price my guitars very competitively and almost always sell them in a low start/no hidden reserve auction style listing on eBay...but I'm starting to sell more and more directly to my subscribers and people who see my videos here...Subscribe and keep an eye out for new videos I post...

Thanks for watching and for your interest!

  • Are you interested in an ultra clean '78 2 pickup version?

  • sure how much

  • It will probably be about $3000.00...everything is original and all the latches still work on the case (a rarity)...this guy takes great care of his stuff and he has owned it since day one...we are still talking...I fell in love with it when I bought a few of his other guitars...this is his last electric...we are talking about some trades...he has been more acoustic oriented lately...so it is a good possibility in the very near future.

Thanks for getting back so quick,

    Howard

  • Well actually you could order the '57 reissue with 3 pick ups or 2 pickups, Bigby or not, from Gibson Custom Shop when I got mine in 2005. As it turns out, if you do some reading, that original Black Beauty came with either 2 and 3 pickup. The original 2 pickup models are fairly rare, obviously quite valuable. Hence - no, three pickup models DO NOT define the Black Beauty

  • When the Les Paul Custom was introduced in 1954 it had 2 pickups (a P-90 in the bridge and an Alnico V at the neck...both single coil pickups) and only came in Black...it was way more dressed up than the original Gold Top Les Paul model and was became known as the Black Beauty...I think that most people came to know about the Black Beauty through Peter Frampton's infamous 3 pickup model though. For what it's worth one of my next demos will be an all original 1956 Black Beauty...subscribe & see!

  • I think though, by 1957 (if not just a little after this time) they came as either a two or three pickup model - but definitely the p-90 and Alnico V were replaced by the humbuckers, - It was obviously available in black. I'm not sure if there were any other colors available in late fifties for the Custom.

  • hey i need an honest opinion please,, me n my band are trying to bring back the 80''s style of rock and metal with out own twist on things ,, i was looking into getting an ibanez n change to the emg 81 and 85 pickups ,, but this guitar is pure beauty,, ,, do you think this guitar could suit the kind of music im going for??

  • @ mikkelvisti

    your right

  • Do you mean the pick guard? That can be unscrewed.

  • dude thasts sick..thats gonna be the next les paul i get..cept im gettin one with a bigsby

  • YEAAAA bigsby are the shiiit

  • you need to learn a little more about your guitar history before you accuse people of pushing fakes.

  • Ahh, you are incorrect. And somewhat of an idiot.

  • you are a fucking idiot.

  • shut the fuck up dumbass. that happens to be the best existing guitar.

  • yeah 3 pickup defines black beauties

  • I have a 2007 Classic custom, guitar of the week 46, It looks exactly like this one, but without the pickguard and the inlays are trapezoid instead of square.

But it has 3 pickups, gold covers and an ebony black body. The fact that the pickups are classic '57s makes it even a more genuine 50s -like black beauty than the current black beauties :D

  • You sir are an idiot. Many LP customs are 2 pickups. But even currently black versions can have 3 pickups which people consider the black beauty to have. Do some research...

  • No your noob? The black beauty got 3 pickups? Go looking on there home page?

  • not always

  • What a beautiful guitar! :-)

  • Omg O.o its amazing

  • beautiful guitar. gorgeous pickups .coool

  • @_@ beautiful, i don't use a pick either.

  • the first thing im gonna do when i get a well paying job is buy a les

  • What was the first thing you played?

  • Just a little something I tend to play when I first pick up a guitar...I've been messing around with that little pattern for years...check out some of my other videos and I bet you'll find it more than once!

    Thanks for watching!

  • You are so lucky to own that - awesome tone!!!

  • Blessed to have had it for a while...I no longer own it...but it was really nice...the first 3 pickup Les Paul I've ever really liked...and I've played a number of them...this one had something special going on...especially the bridge and middle pickups combined sound...

    Thanks for watching!

  • isnt tht the guitar peter frampton uses?

  • similar but not the same.

  • funny, I 'need' that middle humbucker on a les paul, otherwise I loose all my marking points for pinch harmonics (whilst playing and not looking at my fret and picking hands!)

  • such a shitty camera... yet you make all those guitars look sooooo fucking good! BEAUTIFUL GUITAR.

  • doesnt the middle pickup get in the way a bit?

  • Yeah...kinda...for me it does...I don't like big middle pickups...it doesn't bother me on a Strat, but here it does kind of get in the way...but that didn't stop me (awe factor...) from enjoying it! Thanks for watching!
