My Dad might be living here. He has a job opportunity to be a airplane Pilot flying out of Abu Dhabi... Seems the most random place to me ( I'm American and have never left the USA) but I'm optimistic :) is it a good place to live?
@pizzaboy1250 funny you mention that, because the reason I am watching this video is because I may one day fly for an international airline. Is your dad looking into Etihad Airlines?
hey! just saw your comment about abu-dhabi and that your dad might be working there. its a lovely place. i lived there for 17 years and that was before all this technology :) x
Watching the ongoing condition,it becomes clear to me that the country needs to focus on productivity rather than making it home for others. It's one of the most important need and is the key element for progress. If it's done, the country doesn't need to depend on foreign investment and tourism based planning. So pay more attention on productivity to gain sustainability that will help to remove major ongoing problems of the market and jobs in the country. The other plans as mentioned are all right.
Um, well guys i admit im Local, and I hate the fact that most of us are depinding on the oil, I REALLY HATE IT!! and im sure that our leaders are making a good disiciouns to lead this beautiful country, i wish if we could stay away from oil for a while and just depend on other sources of living =)
does abu dhabi ever donate money when catastrophes happen?...just saying. they could use the money on something better than trying to be the best place in the world, greedy bitches
I'm trying to understand this phenomenon in UAE. Outside of petroleum, they don't seem to be producing much. There's is an explosion of construction taking place and they are taking in increasingly more imports. Most of the outrageous growth seems to be coming from profits from oil revenue and foreign capital, It seems unsustainable IMO. If oil profits dip and RE-markets deteriorate I'll be interested to see how this city and Dubai will react.
@dmoton314 Dubai's oil production already represents 6% of the Emirate GDP. They're planning to build a country on the same bases as Sinagapore. Based on free market and tourims. Besides the cost of construction there is really low due to the cheap labor and great infraestrcuture.
@Goingby20s I believe I was thinking more of Dubai World's debt crisis when I made that comment and not the UAE as a whole. Before Dubai was bailed out, I was telling my brother "there's no way all that growth is sustainable!" I was there in 2008 and I saw the most incredible real estate development I had ever seen, but it just didn't seem normal. They were having a Chinese style real estate boom without the massive Chinese-style productivity rate. Maybe it's my American perspective?
I Was just wondering as An American Tourist......this may sound dumb but it actually is a worth while question......Are you allowed to live with the same rights as everyone else in the UAE if you are Jewish?
no one will ask you about your religion, or care about it, politically there is a defrentiation between locals and expats, wich is the case all over the world, "political correctness" is a must there as well as elsewhere............ but you can also reverse the question: are you allowed to live with the same rights as everyone else in the USA or Israel if you are NOT Jewish?
@mr0important Of course! Israel has over 2,000,000 non jews living there! They have full voting rights and freedom of religion. Israel's parliment and supreme court has Muslim and Christian Arabs in them as well!
u ass holes dont u say about abu dhabi like that okay its the best country ever in life seen and i am proud to be a local in there and arabian el 7amdulela i love u UAE ABU DHABI <3 its my only city
This palce sovereign fund is world’s largest and worth $1,300bn. $1.5 trillion of funds sloshing around the Middle East, but those wealth hasn’t eradicated poverty from Muslim world. The Saudis alone hold about a trillion dollars in United States assets. They buy more U.S. made weapons than Israel even though Israelis influence the world politics. Empowerment of a community is not related to the headcount of its billionaires. Please don’t talk such nonsense to me.
This is beautiful. I think this would work perfect for Abu Dhabi. It might even work for Dubai too. I don't think it would work for the average American or Canadian city, we'd have to find our own way of building something like this while considering North American climate. In UAE it is always hot and has very little precipitation which makes this type of building ideals and technology perfect and would work well.
I can't wait to see the progress on these projects.

1: When Michelangelo did his project, at that time everyone thought it was too modern for that time. Or Picasso matter fact. So what is modern now is the future. We might not appreciate but the generation yet to come will for sure.
I kinda dislike the architecture of the typical arabic buildings but if they realize the project it's gonna be amazing. I hate cities like Dubai because of their ULTRA modern stuff but this project is the best one I've seen in a long time. However it's gonna be EXTREMELY expensive but they have the money so why not?
ill admit some of the projects are amazing and its a nice but its mainly pakistain and indiansworking on it and its mostly ameracians and other westerners creating the projects .. and the driving is crazy however its a nice place but alot of people alays push i nes and stuff but none the less they r making good progress :)

only 5 years for complete metro abu dhabi , yas island , sawwah island , saadiyat island . reem island and new terminal 4 abu dhabi international airport.
Damn i wanna live there fuk California!! Looks like something out of a Final Fantasy video game!! Can anyone tell me any other cities as cool and futuristic looking as this one?
Living in Abu Dhabi feels good since beginning to me, reason is it is a very peaceful place and people have helping nature and are fun to be with. seeing all these future developments i am much more impressed.
I agree there are some problems those are (a) unreasonable rents and b) due to this people share flats this is a unhealthy lifestyle,
Gorgeous, modern city home to the worlds most expensive hotel... Gorgeous city and hotel built courtesy of the new global order of imported near-slave-labor of impoverished Indians and Pakistanis (earning a pittance all the while).
I love Abu Dhabi. I am an Emarati woman living in Dubai. The future of Abu Dhabi is the future of Dubai and all the emirates. May Allah bless the UAE and all Muslim countries.
I belive that Abu Dhabi will be much better than this by the year 2030. They already started some good projects.
We as Emarati people, always welcome tourists, and I am surprised that some poeple who have never been in the UAE are saying the opposite! It is better to hear from those who have been to our country.
@lpm1998 Yes but come on man, with our differences did you really expect to be able to come to the UAE? Muslims and Jews have been fighting for over a thousand years now. I mean I dont know you personally and It would be wrong if said anything hurtful about you just for being an Israeli, I cannot judge you. And plus Emirati's cant enter Israel so it works both ways.
@vtc31@vtc31 World thinking there is a fight between the religion of Judaism and Islam. Very wrong. It is about the land. It was Christians who committed the genocide against the Jews all along the history. It was the Muslims who always protected the Jews from the christians. And gave them the safe passage. So UAE does not mind the Jews people coming into the country. I know lots of Jew people in UAE. Its is just the Israelis from Israel for political reasons. For example USA with Cuba.
@107UAE I am a African American Woman and my daughter and I will be visiting next year for a Social Work conference! If all goes well, I hope to relocate there. BEAUTIFUL!
I worked in Abu Dhabi, I had the training to build the court house, I fell in love with the most beautiful Arab state, I hope to find a job to return to live that dream, I'm Italian muslim. allah akbar, long live the family

can people start actually talking about the architecture and city planning skills now please? Not cultural differences for a change?
I wish some people could admit that there are going to be things we don't like. Probably there are others that feel the same but do the world a favour and shut the hell up like the rest of us and be polite. You wouldn't speak to people like this to their faces, would you?
@Malbo22 Do you "speak to people like this to their faces" . . . "shut the h*(( up"? Nice comment (???????????) Oh yes; you're certainly polite. Put your money where your mouth is, please.
I dont think it will be green at all. Its just a fancy word they toss around. In fact I dont doubt it will be come the most polluted city in the world.

@eternalgreenday I'm not. In fact, I'm very happy to see this city growing. But one problem: What is it gonna do for resource allocation?

Living in Abu Dhabi feels good since beginning to me, reason is it is a very peaceful place and people have helping nature and are fun to be with. seeing all these future developments i am much more impressed.
I agree there are some problems those are (a) unreasonable rents and b) due to this people share flats this is a unhealthy lifestyle,
ADUPC must plan for better housing facilities.

@107UAE welcome tourists do you oh yeah really well guess what I'm an Israeli Jew so can i come to Abu-Dhabi ... OH WAIT!!!
lpm1998 1 year ago
@lpm1998 Yes but come on man, with our differences did you really expect to be able to come to the UAE? Muslims and Jews have been fighting for over a thousand years now. I mean I dont know you personally and It would be wrong if said anything hurtful about you just for being an Israeli, I cannot judge you. And plus Emirati's cant enter Israel so it works both ways.
vtc31 1 year ago
@vtc31 @vtc31 World thinking there is a fight between the religion of Judaism and Islam. For example USA with Cuba.

can people start actually talking about the architecture and city planning skills now please? Not cultural differences for a change?
I wish some people could admit that there are going to be things we don't like. Probably there are others that feel the same but do the world a favour and shut the hell up like the rest of us and be polite. You wouldn't speak to people like this to their faces, would you?
Malbo22 2 years ago
@Malbo22 Do you "speak to people like this to their faces" . . . "shut the h*(( up"? Nice comment (???????????) Oh yes; you're certainly polite. Put your money where your mouth is, please.
