When Gilmour was once asked (and I'm paraphrasing here), "if you could be anyone else, who would you be?" His response. 'I'd like to be a member of the audience watching a Pink Floyd concert". Some might consider that response cocky and narcistic but I interpret that as his understanding of how much joy the band brought to the world. He is both humble yet truly cognisant of the bands impact to music.
