this is so amazing. thank you for taking the time to appreciate our culture. the men are wonderful compared to the women ( women's part usually requires more shoulder and chest movement) this is wonderful
While I have always been told that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I would like to have it understood that the Ethiopians are not and never have looked like this. I do not want to see them whitened as the Ancient Egyptians have been by Hollywood.
Africa has been misrepresented enough by other folk. God Bless mother Africa.
Amazing they have tried. Thanks Amsterdam guys for doing good job trying to show Ethiopian traditional dance to the world. But they need more practice and motivation especially the guys.
they could have used a bit more practice or a better teacher. 2:31 looks hilarious. this is nice and all i just hope no one thinks we dance like this.
you guys are amazing and beautiful..people like you guys always make me realize that the world is beautiful place if we can just surround ourselves with the rite people and appreciate each others cultures. i have deep respect for u all. love u.
I didn't realize at first that these were not Ethiopian dancers! I'm from Gonder myself, and I just wanted to say I really love their performance; the eskisa, the dress, everything!
I didn't realize at first that these were not Ethiopian dancers! I'm from Gonder myself, and I just wanted to say I really love their performance; the eskisa, the dress, everything!
Dance (Eskista) is one of the most expressive art forms human beings can create. However, choreographing a routine can be a bit more challenging than it seems.Keep up the good work and very well done Minyeshu!!!!!! THANK U!!!!
Bravo Minishu. Finally, you got an answer to our so-called musicians who believe that they are not replaceable with their one-man band and plastic music. Especially those in foreign countries. Igziabher yaakbrish and forwards with the good job. Do not be discouraged by some losers comments. As an Ethiopian, you made me very proud. Thank you Sister and be blessed. You get five stars from me
Thanks so much for making this video! when I first saw i,t I really wanted to cry. Its the most beautiful video I have ever watched on you tube!! thanks for the good Job for performers and most importantly for the choreogropier!!!!!
habeshagyr180 learn how to appreciate people. Instead you have a nerve to criticize the dancer and choreographer. Are you jealous because they are good in your cultural dance? Let me remind you- they are not Habesha and it is hard to train them but the choreographer did really good job. Please!!!!
habeshagyrl80 dont't even compare samba with eskesta we know how difficult it's eskesta for habesha ppl.oh good 4ya you learning samba.GOOD JOB it's make me smile. 10q
I don't know guys, I think that they would've benefited from a lot more practice and the choreographer should've insisted on it. They were obviously lacking a lot in technique. A lot of your comments suggest that it was a good job for outsiders, but real dancers should strive for a good job, period. I'm an Ethiopian who dances samba, and since I'm not Brazilian, I know I have to study that much harder to do a good job because it's not my culture. More practice and more time, then it'll be great
Betam yigermal, I guess at the end of the day we are all people and if one can move to a beat then one can make an effort to learn any kind of movement. I think it is a great thing... cultural exchange breaks down barriers and makes it easier to appreciate one another. Good Job!
It's an Ethiopian dance performed by the Dutch choreographed by the Ethiopian artist, Minyeshu. With a name like fuckykt, I don't know why I bothered to reply though.
Well executed. I could be aware that Minyeshu is the one who made the choreography: Cognra Minyishu! I liked everything here. Now I see Non-ethios doing the Ethiopian Eskista right...
I love the singer and everything about you guys. You guys are a lot better than most Ethiopian people that i know lol. thank you for doing this and I love it!!!!
first of all, i love what the guy below me says everytime about Ethiopia so keep up the good work brother ahmed. u r one of my favorite guy on u tube. secondely, is was just a matter fo time b4 Ethiopian music and dance being preformed by others. these days i c and hear lots of Ethiopian music nd dance on internationsl satges. mahmud and almayhu are good example to that. the last time alemahyhu showed up in UK over 30000 turned out to see him. it was great so is this
After all, all humans originated from Ethiopia; therefore, all humans must learn the language, the culture, and the traditions of the land of their origin. Iskista is one of the arts of performing Ethiopian cultures that has entertained millions of Ethiopians all over the world. For trying and performing such an elegant art called Ethiopian Iskista, the Netherlanders deserve a high mark. I hope every European would follow the good examples of the Amsterdam International Dance.
You are a hateful man. People like you do not see beauty because they are blinded by hate. It is the people you hate, the whites who are feeding the hungry in Somalia. I hope someone see this hateful message of yours and deport you back to where you belong.
