  • I always thought this was a bad fight for Hagler. I knew Leonard would run and peck, and throw the odd combination, and Hagler wold not be able to keep up. I never thought the layoff would play into things very much.

  • this was middleweights felix sturm is bullshit

  • the UK didn't have PPV till 1995. This is a good thing.

  • @alexjaep dont be stupid ..i watched it in the pub in gateshead ..it was a lock in tho as it was on v v late

  • Those were the days what a time for boxing . These two gladiators could probably still get in the ring and batter a few of todays fighters if they wanted too ,especially Marvin Hagler who I loved to watch because he was a great fighter .

  • ray leonard did everything mayweather did only better and much more exciting.Mayweather has better defense. but ray leonard would beat mayweather jr

  • @TheNigerianScammer true tough one that, Ray Leonard would sure please the crowd more!

  • anyone knows how he is called the song that comes out Leonard?

    And Hagler?

  • Comment removed

  • @MegaMadridista what is it good for - war

victory - kool and the gang

  • Why is Obama fighting Montel Williams?

  • @ROCKSyoutub You need a better lookalike for Sugar Ray.

  • Whats the song Sugar Ray leanord used for his intro!?

  • dundee is always there the big upset ali foreman the big upset leonard hagler the big upset foreman moorer my man dundee

  • to close to call

  • 6:14 NICE

  • 4:37 some kind of tactic?

  • I hate it when judges score fights so wrong just like the holmes-spinks fight, spinks done NOTHING to deserve winning the II fight

  • @revelation6415 Eh your gonna compare Spinks performance vs Holmes with Leonards performance vs Hagler ? Based on what ? SRL threw punches CONSTANTLY, was never in any danger, never gave in to the hagler pressure. FIrst fight in middleweight against the best middleweight ever. No comparison.

  • @TheBestBoxingGame No I mean I don't understand hagler getting a decision on one scorecard i meant SRL won and it should have been UD

  • @revelation6415 Yea ok..agreed.

  • war motion blur back in the 80s!

  • All you die hard Leonard lovers need to watch this video, stop typing about how haggler stinks and Leonard is best. If you stop typing and start watchin you would see that Haggler was ROBBED. You have to beat the champ to be the champ, and Leonard didnt do enough in my eyes to steal this one. This bull is the reason Marvin retired, the corruption of the fight game. On a side note what a class act Marvin is one of the nicest guy you could meet. I wouldnt want to see him angry though

  • @cannabussoldier no1 cares what u saw on ur eyes because you are a no1

  • @123boxingcoach I been in the boxing game for 26 years, you want to come down and train this weekend?? I know I'm a nobody, how would you like this nobody to beat your ass?

  • @cannabussoldier yeah where u train? i live in london btw i dnt mind going coupl rounds start off trainin agen u wont "beat my ass" tho lol

  • Leornard is a clinching roody poo

  • Bottom line...The 160 pound division was full of slow ass plodders with NO SPEED.....Made Hagler look great

    During the 1980s

  • @bscottdp TIme for your boxing education. Behind closed doors, Leonard had three or four real twelve round fights, without headgear and using 10 oz gloves. He was sharp, and he had his tuneup. Leonard never faced Hagler in his prime, he waited until he lost all his reflexes and then challenged him. Thats why he fought him after mugabi, where hagler gutted out a victory due to his ridiculous chin and punching power, his old boxing skill was gone. Leonard never gave him a rematch. who the fuck

  • @kayzabihi get over it and stop whining lol hagler was a middle weight even as an amatuer and leonard was 135 as amatuer and still moved up to fight a bigger more active champion afer 1 fight in 5 years you seem to forget leonard was advised to retire because of blindness and qoute a line from roberto duran in 1983 you box him ray you beat him so all along it was considered leonard could beat him, monroe did it duran almost did it and hagler never thumbed roldan in round 4 he would have also !

  • calls an era where duran and tommy hearns fought in the middle weight division a weak division of slow plodders? Youre talking about 2 atg, both in the top 20 fighters of all time. Learn your boxing, you're clearly a casual fan whos impresed with sugar rays flashiness. You look at his easily blocked bolo punhes by hagler and think, "wow! Now thats boxing!" Get the hell out of here and stop disrespecting an ATG

  • @kayzabihi

A casual fan? ha ha. Lets stick to the bottom line

    1. Ray Leonard - 5 year layoff

    2. Ray Leonard - Last fight at his peak was 147 pounds against Brunce Finch in 1982

    3, Marvin Hagler - Active in 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986

1987 Ray Leonard was only 50 percent of his former self, came out of retirement. This aint prime Ray Leonard. His snap on his shots is not there, got tired fast

Also Hagler picked on blown up Welterweights

  • @bscottdp Yeah, Marvelous Marvin is still Marvelous to me. Any guy who can go toe to toe with Tommy Hearns deserves respect.

  • @kayzabihi

Another bottom line. Fighters from Haglers era took on the challenge to move up and challenge him

Funny how Hagler never moved up. Michael Spinks called his ass out.

No its not SRL flashiness. Learn the game. At 147 Ray Leonard was actually very aggressive going for the knockout.

    1. Benitez - Ray was the aggressor looking for the KO

    2. Hearns - Ray was aggressor looking for KO

3, Akuy Kalule - Ray was aggressor

    4. Larry Bonds

  • @bscottdp

only someone like ray leonard could come back after years of inactivity and be accused of cherrypicking an opponent who was the best fighter in the sport,an atg in his own right, and a fighter who was two weight classes above his own.LOL,the guy set high standards for himself.

  • Lets see Hagler take on a bigger fighter and lets see him use that same come forward style. Ray boxed because he was the smaller man moving up in weight.

Id like to see Hagler move up to fight Spinks and use that same come forward style. He would get his ass knocked out. Im willing to bet Hagler would be on that bike trying to stick and move against a bigger opponent

  • Bottom line

1987 Ray Leonard was 45 percent of of his former self

And Hagler struggled....win or lose......Thats the bottom line

    Hagler was ACTIVE.....1983, 1984, 1985, 1986

    Ring rust is no excuse

Leonard was retired...1983. 1985, 1986 and had one fight in 84

  • Uneducated boxing fans. Its time for your education

Ray Leonard got so much credit because he was retired for 5 years

Came out of retirement...NO TUNEUP....and took on the 160 pound champion of the world and....BEAT HIM

Lets see Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Wade take off 5 years

Lets see Lebrons vertical leap 5 years later....ha ha...Lets see Kobe's fadeaway 5 years later.....BRICK

  • Education time. Lets stick to the Bottom line

    1. Ray Leonard - One fight in 5 years

    2. Ray Leonard - first fight at 160 pounds: NO TUNEUP

3, Ray Leonard - Last fight at his peak: 147 pounds against Brunce Finch in 1982

1983, 1984, 1985, 1986 Ray is chillin drinking beer, taking shots and getting drung on a regular basis. 1986 he says 'I CAN BEAT HAGLER"

Bottom line.....Ray was 40 percent of his former self. So whatever excuse you give Hagler is a bitch ass one

  • Both of these dudes would rip pacquiao and mayweather apart.

  • @Javagui21

Absolutely. So would've Duran and Hearns.

  • Comment removed

  • This isn't the real caesars palace is it? LOL

  • @Javagui21 It's the outdoor arena they use.

  • End of the first, Leonard stops himself. I think Hagler is the first guy I ever seen him do that against. He always fought through the bell.

  • Palmer park nigga suger ray best fighter of all time

  • @ kingdaleclarke dont insult ppl over the net.. Regardless of how long u train a day, @ 35 everyones body slows down. Thats y Jordan stopped taking it inside near the end of his career. Thats y M. Vick is not as fast as he was as a rookie. he didnt hav 4 more fights left in him. Nowadays the avg. headliner fights no more than 2 fights a year. By then Hagler would be 37 or 38 and past his prime.

  • @DUSTEEBOY A lot depends on how you live, and your genetics. 35 isn't old for certain people who live clean lives, stay in shape, and take care of themselves. Did you know Jack La Lanne broke the record for situps and pushups at age 56? Everyone is different.

I agree completely, Hagler was shot. Leonard even saw it. He wasn't always a wild puncher, but as he got older, he lost some ability, and got to be more of a puncher. He was old this fight, for sure. Training can't change that.

  • @TA152H01 I agree, alot depends on lifestyle. I looked Jack up. Very impressive thru his 60's. But he had 1 of the strictest regimens I've seen. 2 meals a day/ rarely ate meats. he was quoted sayin "if it taste good spit it out" Thats pretty xtreme

Floyd takes pretty good care of himself from what Ive heard. And emphasising on skills that dont expend as much energy as punchn will help u more when u get up there in age. Hopefully the fight will go down

  • I disagree, this fight matters. They were 31 n 35 yrs old. Mayeweather is 34 and he is heavily scrutinized every fight 4 performance. Hagler was a wild puncher, and as u get older its not as effective.. Ppl who rely on technique and defense r more verse than ppl who rely on high powered offense. Sugar Ray won this fight coming off a 3 yr break. Fighting is about Aggression. Boxing is about Technique.

  • @DUSTEEBOY you clearly dont know anything about boxing haha, what you talking about as you get older, yer odler for us but not for a athlete like hagler he would train up to 9 hours a day and his power ws always there matter of fact he probaly has 3 or 4 fights left in him

  • Angelo Dundee sounds exactly like Robert Duval!

  • Throught the fight leonard was warned 30! times about holding, yet no point deduction...

  • Roy Jones or James Toney can beat both of them

  • @ohho1 Come off it. Hagler of 1982 was unbelievable. I'm a big fan of roy jones but no way would he have beaten hagler

  • When Floyd does what Leonard is doing why do some ppl call it running... It will never make sense to me. Its a technique. Stick & move and it's what u gotta do when ur the smaller guy and got the foot speed, hand speed, reflex advantage.

  • I wanna punch that "STICK THE JEEEAB" guy in the face.

  • 58 KO's??...GOT DAMN!..haglers a beast..

  • hagler lost when he came out orthodox first 4 rnds

  • Yo Hagler got rocked at 4:56! He recovered well though

  • mayweather should watch this. the best fighting the best. no "ducking or dodging". just fighting.

  • @illyrian4life Shut up, it took them YEARS to set up this fight. and Floyd isn't ducking

  • song Hagler?

  • It took 5 years to make this happen, people should be patient for Pacquiao Mayweather.

  • fights like these should have the very best judges.

  • that big ass ring thats how he won

  • Rigged

  • Split decision...in Vegas???

Ray sure can run good, but Hagler will always be the better fighter!

  • I gave Hagler only 3 rounds. wide decision win for Ray Leonard on my scorecard

  • @katis999 completely disagree, blows on forearms shouldnt be scored

  • @katis999 LOL Are you high on drugs. 7-5 for Hagler on my card. Could be 7-5 either way or a draw. Hagler swept rounds 5-9 easily.

  • Comment removed

  • @katis999 Damn. I gave Hagler 7 rounds. Haha.

  • @katis999 ITs a good thing your not a judge then lol

  • Marvelous Marvin the Prophet!

"I expect to get hit; I'm just not too concerned about it;t I can take anything he can throw."

How prophetic, so it came to pass because Ray did hit him the most, outpointed him, and won - Period. And Hagler did take everything Ray threw ...upside his head. Ray is boxing genius applied.

And he accomplished it in and out of retirement, after having 1 fight in 5 years, and at Marvin's weightclass. The fact that Marvin did not destroy him proves Rays Greatness.

  • idkk whyy i see sugar ray leonard like a small version of muhhamad ali x) lol

  • I will always love the big 4. They made boxing what it is today, well actually there is nobody fighting now that could compete with the big 4. Best fights ever. Thank you Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, and Duran!!!!

  • I think some ppl forget Ray was coming off a 5 year layoff and was naturally 147 pounds. Hagler is 160. So naturally the smaller man has to box on his toes and use movement and speed. Hagler is the natural middleweight

  • Leonard is on his toes for the whole fight, Marvin had his feet at least partially set most of the time ... you can tell who wanted to fight and who wanted to run. That being said, he did what it took to win. There are very few people who could brawl toe-to-toe with Marv and come out the other side smiling ... or standing .... or alive, haha.

  • After seeing this fight, ill label him as Sugar Gay leonard......All i see is a guy jumping around the ring in all rounds... one hit ..and keep jumping....what a great way to win. I think he is over rated ...the time he went toe to toe with duran got his ass whopped. Hagler is willing to fight so i think he is better.

  • @luimba Hagler better even though he got punched in his face and on his head the most? Even though a little, retired exchampion unretired, gained weight, entered the ring with him with a dancing strategy that the champion had no answer to? Even though Hagler, with the whole fight to do it in, couldn't even catch him? Couldn't find an answer? The whole fight long?Even though he was neutralized, frustrated, showboated on,outpointed, & lost the decison, and his title? You call names? Emotional, no?

  • All I see is a fag running and landing nothing significant. If you call that winning a fight good for you. @MrPerryrice

  • Classic

  • watch this fight without the sound....

and u might have it 116-112 for H

  • marvin should have came out southpaw the whole fight

  • was hagler past it here???

  • @mikeiron

a little... still had a big dick though

  • wow these guys are so skillful compared to the guys today!

  • WAR!!!

  • This fight proved very little. Leonard obviously won, but both fighters were shot. Leonard saw Hagler was shot, and that's why he wanted this fight. Hagler is fighting in slow motion.

Watch Leonard versus Duran and see 15 rounds of non-stop fighting, and tell me this is the same guy. His hand speed is less, but good, but his stamina doesn't approach young Leonard.

Two guys past their prime, but still champs, with their will and toughness often make the best fights.

  • @TA152H01 good point

  • @TA152H01 Leonard didnt "obviously" won. Hagler pressed the fight and landed the harder more significant shots.

  • @ah93704 Even if what you were saying were true, it's not how fights are scored. Fights are scored by rounds, and Leonard won the most rounds. He won the first four clearly, so that means all he had to win were three of the next eight. You think Hagler had it 8-1 after that? No way.

Actually, Leonard landed a lot more clean shots anyway, although after the fourth round most didn't have anything on them. But Hagler rarely landed cleanly. He was so slow by this time.

  • @ah93704 Harder punches? Isn't that to be expected since he is the harder hitter? Leonard still controlled the pace and the fight the most, and outpointed him.Ray was the general in this fight.

  • @ah93704 Harder punches? Isn't that to be expected since he is the harder hitter? Leonard still controlled the pace and the fight the most, and outpointed him.Ray was the general in this fight. And after a virtual 5 year layoff! Against a declining Hagler this is a great feat. You emotional (not logical) dudes must have it rough.

  • @MrPerryrice Yes, it is to be expected BUT, and this is a BUTT that is probably bigger than your gf's ass..Sugar Ray really only scored with pitter patter shots. He didnt land the more substantial shots. It is to be expected that the boxer would LAND THE MORE FREQUENT blows but Hagler outpunched him in this fight. Not only that but he hit him harder. He wins on both counts.

  • @ah93704 Hagler barely even touched him in this fight.Hagler looked pitiful; & that's exactly why he's got your pity. The judges ruled against him correctly. Even you admit in Capital Letters that Ray landed the most frequent blows, then you mess it up by saying Hagler outpunched him. The one whose punches landed the most (RAY's) has by necessity outpunched the other guy. Ray outpunched him (and the judges agree), not the other way around. Hagler only hit harder, and NOT ENOUGH to outpoint Ray.

  • @MrPerryrice do you speak English as a first language? Look at what I wrote again. I said Ray SHOULD HAVE LANDED more punches, because he is the boxer but I dont believe he did. On top of that, Halger landed the more significant blows. I"m not sure what the punch stat numbers are but I feel confident in saying that Hagler landed more blows and if not he certainly held his own and all the while he still hit Ray harder!

  • @TA152H01 Well for one thing Leonard was a welterweight when he's fighting Duran and he's a middleweight here. Apart from being older.

  • @capablemachine Yes, but don't forget, Leonard had fought at Junior Welterweight and still had excellent stamina at that weight, and much greater hand speed.

He wasn't old in this fight. 30 years old you shouldn't lose hand speed. It's not like he was 40. His degradation has to be from substance abuse. He's got no stamina at all. And by 35, he couldn't throw a left hook. I've never seen that happen before either.

  • @TA152H01 What do you mean? He's going to be quicker at the lighter weights especially if he doesn't have to melt down for it. He hasn't been in the ring for a while and he's fighting heavier so he's going to look slower. He hasn't had any run up matches for this fight either so conserving himself from experience at the weight is something he's learning right at this moment in the ring.

  • @capablemachine I meant Junior Middleweight. He was plenty fast, and had very good stamina at Super Welter/Junior Middleweight.

He's not conserving himself, he's dog tired. His stamina was terrible. After round 4, there wasn't much on any of his shots. Young Leonard threw a lot of hard shots every round, most of his punches this fight are very soft. Six pounds doesn't make that much of a difference. He's a shot fighter here. So is Hagler.

  • @TA152H01 I know I wasn't saying he was conserving himself. I was saying he was learning at the moment he was fighting that he couldn't bound around like he did at the lighter weights. I don't think either are shot I think it's just showing the effects of having 2 fights in the past 5 years

  • @capablemachine Well, Leonard even said Hagler was shot when he fought Mugabi, that's why he took the fight.

You could say it was rust for Leonard, but then, the rest of his fights all showed a level far below his excellence in his youth. He fought old men, or hand picked paper champs, or got the crap beaten out of him. Young Leonard beat everyone, and showed remarkable ability.

None of his fights show the skill pre-retirement. That's why I say he was shot.

  • @TA152H01 I think those are very good points and I agree more or less with what you are saying but I think to say they're both shot is a bit too severe.

  • @capablemachine OK, then let's just say they are noticeably less capable than in their primes. I think that is something we agree on. Hearns/Leonard II is the same, but also a good fight. Old Champs might lose their reflexes and stamina, but they don't lose their heart. And those three were real champs.

  • @TA152H01 Yes I would agree with that.

  • @TA152H01 was hagler past it here ?

  • @mikeiron Oh, without a doubt. Look at how slow he is. Look at his left hand. It's not a straight left anymore; he loops it.

Leonard noticed in the prior fight that Hagler was slow, and was no longer the same fighter. To his credit, he mentioned this. That's why he wanted the fight. He knew Hagler was very beatable by this time.

  • @TA152H01 u mean when duran manhandled ray for the entire fight? ray was a runner and speed was overated..the speed is nothing compared to todays fighters like khan, pac, floyd,

  • @Ronz93 Wow, really dumb post on a few levels.

Leonard fought toe to toe with Duran the entire first fight.

Mayweather isn't very fast. He's got good, but not excellent, hand speed. His biggest virtues is near perfect balance, and his ability to relax in the ring. He's also a smart fighter.

In terms of hand speed, Leonard in his prime blows out any of the guys you mention. You can't compare guys like Mayweather with Leonard. You can, I guess, but you'll sound stupid. You did.

  • @TA152H01 , Mayweather is a defensive fighter (nod yes) When ur a defensive fighter the way to score is to counter (nod yes again) To counter you have to be able to hit the guy b4 he can recover or hit u (this gets tricky) It takes speed to hit them b4 they can defend themselves or hit u.. Mayweather has plenty of speed.. check his pad drills on the show 24/7.. and Pac couldnt ko Shane whole shane ran frm hin with a hurt foot chk tape

  • @DUSTEEBOY Actually, counter punching is more about balance than hand speed. Mayweather looked slow against Judah, and a guy with great hand speed never looks slow. Leonard, pre-retirement, made other "fast" fighters look slow. They're at a different grade.

Mayweather is only a defensive fighter because he never fights anyone good. Judah hit him easily, and he's not a great. Mayweather is smart, and just kept pressure on him until he slowed down. But really, he's not close to Leonard.

  • @TA152H01 I agree counter pnchn does hav to do w/ balance at certain times but many boxers counter w/out even shifting their feet, relying on handspeed n reflexes (ex. countering a jab by blocking n returning a standing jab)

The Judah fight is a poor example of anything bc of the low blow fiasco and the fact that Zab was 1 of the fastest in the div. at that time. Xplain how he dont fought anyone Zab Shane Hatton Marquez De la Hoya Gatti Corrales while u praise Pac 4 beatn 4 out of those 7 names

  • @DUSTEEBOY When did I praise Pacquiao? I think he'll fight anyone, but he'd get killed by Leonard or Hearns, same as Mayweather.

My point is, Judah made Mayweather look slow. Judah has very good hand speed, no doubt, but that's just the point. Mayweather isn't slow at all, he's got good hand speed, it just isn't great like Leonard's. No one made prime Leonard look slow. No one could.

Also, don't forget Leonard was a great defensive fighter too.

    Mayweather/Pacman is a toss-up.

  • @TA152H01 My bad thought u were a crazd Pacfan I agree Leonard may hav the best handspeed His combo was crazy Leonard/Hearns could beat PBF but they had thier faults as well

Leonard showboated he would raise his hands n the air n yell mid fight He lost to Duran bc of pride, tried 2 b macho n outgun him Hearns kept brawlin vs Hagler instead of boxn like they told him n got KO

Floyd has stamina n he listens well. i just want ppl to giv PBF respect, he didnt get those belts out of a cereal box

  • @DUSTEEBOY Mayweather is one of the smartest fighters to step into the ring. I thought Leonard won the first fight with Duran, but obviously fought a stupid fight. Mayweather wouldn't make that mistake. He rarely makes mistakes. He knows what he needs to do, and adjusts. That and his balance are his biggest assets.

I can see Pacquiao beating him by being more active, and throwing more punches. I can see Mayweather winning by making adjustments and out-thinking Pacman. A good fight.

  • @Ronz93 that fight was close, chose your words wisely, Ray chose to fight that fight toe to toe, if he Chose to box Duran he would of won all three fights. Hell even Duran gave Leonard his props in telling him 8 years before this match that if he Boxed Hagler hed beat him. Your logic holds no weight. Khan is not faster tha leonard, Pac is not faster than leonard and neither is mayweather.

  • i dont agree i think hagler had beaten the undefeated gold medalist mugabi was the ruling the middleweight division no1 had come close to beating him he had become more inteligent ,accurate over the years 33 years for middleweight is not too bad

Learnord around same age looked terrible when he had fought kevin (geting knocked down) hadnt fought in 3 years hadnt fought at middleweight was going up against a wrecking ball and won due to clearly winning first 3 rounds and make the rest very close

  • @TA152H01 Absolutely. Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • @TA152H01 Ya especially since when guys get older they have no choice but to take more punches. A great example is Roy jones when he was young no one could hit him but as he got older and things slowed he could've had some really great fights if he had the toughness and will of these guys. Ali and Frazier had 3 great fights past Ali's prime of dancing slipping and countering.

  • RIP GIL

  • I think ppl need to understand is Ray at 147 actually fought flat footed most o the time. But Hagler was a middleweight and bigger so of course Ray has to box

  • These were real fighters man, these were warriors.

  • MR. ANGELO DUNDEE, 2 THUMBS UP!!!

  • fd

  • No matter who you see winning it, this fight was one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, of the 80ties.

  • LOL @ 0:49 dude on the top right looks like a fat 50 cent!

  • This fight should have happened at least 3 years earlier...

  • @MegaYouri13 I agree. The Manny-Floyd situation is very similar to this one. The guys should've fought and for reasons that nobody truthfully knows other than them it hasn't happened.

  • what song did ray leonard came out with?

  • He is saying stick, and jab. Not Shake, and bake where do people come up with that.

  • @wbgfsdert At the very end around 9:38 you will hear Shake and Bake!

  • hagler lost he did not fight southpaw alot...times he did he won

  • Sugar Ray Leonard would have destroyed Pacquiao. Way too much talent, speed, power, footwork, greatness.

  • @SaiBoxTV exactly, the fighters of today cant compete with the fighters of the 80s and maybe the 90s.

  • Hagler to me looked slow in the 1983 Duran fight. He never fought boxers even at his peak. Most of his fights were against slow brawlers in the middleweight division.

Getting beat by a guy retired for 5 years while you were active. You deserve NO EXCUSES....You were active in shape on a regular basis while he was getting drunk, eating KFC and having some drug issues.

Ray decides to get in shape in 1 year and beats Hagler. This is why its impressive

  • theman1819...Wrong! Ray Leonard suffered a detached retina in 1982. Bottom line is this

    1. Ray Leonard retired 5 years

    2. Hagler was active and staying sharp FIGHTING

Ray's inactivity is much WORSE than Hagler slowing down. Hagler had just fought Hearns in 1985 and Mugabi in 1986.

While SRL was sippin on beer and taking shots of tecquila gettin drunk eating hot wings every day. Ray is not where close to his 1982 version. His speed is no where close and his conditioning suffered

  • god damn i hate leonard, he waits 3 years so haglar can slow down then he doesnt fight unless he gets everything his way the 21 foot ring and 12 rounds, this was a championship fight it should of been 15

  • Thats crazy fighters fight thats what they do I have a real big problem with people who claim they know boxing to know that some fighter is scared. I dont think there is a single fighter that is scared of another it's chess. I dont think the fight will happen either. I dont blame either fighter I blame bob arum.He just moved to showtime making the fight IMPOSSIBLE.

  • @mayhemike its simple hes not scared of manny but hes scared to lose.

  • Lol! What is it about Floyd fans and defective eyesight? Optical illusions indeed! No denying he's very good. But he'll never fight Pacquiao. Some fears run too deep.

  • I mean I know when I see greatness and pacquiao certainly is, but Floyd is that much better. Floyd can fight off the front foot and the back. He twists his lead foot from left to right inching forward while closing the gap creating an optical illusion to the opponent with distance. He can fight off the back foot he can fight going backwards, and we all know only 5 fighters in history can do that.

  • Well spotted, Lee. You see these same tactics with many fighters today. Hopkins used it, and more recently Mayweather. Flashy punches, then run away, or grab and hold to stop their opponent throwing punches. Running is ok, holding is not. It's time the referees started to apply the rules of boxing and deduct points for this cowardice, which some see as "boxing skill". I'd hate to see another "legend" made, by failure to punish boxers who use these illegal tactics.

  • these two would destroy anything thats out there today.

  • jesus christ and they say chicken floyd runs from fighters, what about this guy???

  • @leedriver10 This guy!!! hahah

  • @leedriver10 The sport of boxing is not for you son. Go watch mma where you can watch Chris Leben run into somebodies fist. LoL!

  • @sammyp25 and thats y boxing is a dying sport. MMA is taking over

  • @imhungry4444 we have upincoming fighters like nonito donaire and brad solomon

who are soon to be stars. we have champions like pacquiao, mayweather, and

martinez.............a dying sport? boxing been around long before mma and will be

    long after.

  • @sammyp25 the guys that u just said, r nobodys. pac, mayweather, and martinez is it for boxing. the only person u have thats good going into the future is saul alvarez, thats it. right now ufc and strikeforce put up more and better numbers. each event is sold out while in boxing its that same shit over and over again just different fighters.

  • @imhungry4444 you call saul alvarez the future of boxing? I hope its not based on skillset but he may be marketable at this point but nonito donair....the filipino flash a nobody thats laughable he's the biggest

thing at golden boy right now believe it or not. okay mma maybe more for the mainstream casual fanbase but boxing doesn't need all that. We have fighters who carry their whole countries on there backs besides, mma follows the blue print of boxing and thats why they are successful.

  • @sammyp25 obviously to u boxing is not boring cause its all about he science of boxing, but most people will agree that boxing is getting boring. while mma altogether is the worlds fastest growing sport ans with the amount of fans it has now its overwhelming boxing. plus, organizations like ufc and strikeforce arent even in their prime yet. sooner or later u will have to admit that mma is the future and boxing is the past. finally, boxing is a VERY limited form of fighting, just hands? c'mon

  • @imhungry4444 fucking idiot i punch you in the head with just hands and then you will be dead you kickin bitch

  • @MrBosstoni i see your still in denial. dont worry, in about 5 or 10 years you'll accept mma or you'll just end up killing yourself.

  • Ok Ray definitely won the 1st round!

  • floyd boring? You are not a fan of boxing you are a fan of fighting, fighting takes no skill boxing is a science...must be an off balance no defense pacquiao fan. Leonard was the best!

  • @mayhemike Pacquiao's smaller than Mayweather, but has greater skill, balance, speed, and power. Mayweathers only defense comes from holding on...One hand behind the head to pull the opponent off balance, one hand behind the opponent's elbow to stop him hitting you. Head turned away from the opponent's free hand. No science. No skill required. It's called cheating. Perhaps he should try ballroom dancing. He'd certainly be just as exciting to watch.

  • @justabrz continued..He has delivered a KO punch going backwards (Hatton), and manny CAN'T fight going backwards. Floyd is a pure defensive wizard. No one has broke it, Mosley tried but only got stuffed when he tried again He throws a str8 right lead when a fighter is off balance. We all know pacquiao is 40% of the time. Pacquaio barley got his lead hook (manilla ice) together 3 years ago. He can only duck under to the right to counter. Floyd is great in both hands.

  • @justabrz Also..AND HE"S FAST, name manny's fastest fighter he has fought? Floyd can take a punch too, never been down except when he broke his hands. He recovers REAL well. Floyds last 6 opponents were the RING MAGAZINES TOP 10 P4P fighters at the time he fought them. Manny's? Nope JMM was but that was 7 fights ago. Mosley will me #8I do see greatness in pacquiao he is my 2nd favorite fighter. BUT floyd is as much a better boxer as much as Manny is a better human being than Floyd.

  • 'stick and dip!!' 'stick and dip!!' that tactic worked for sugar ray leonard the legend.
