Just asking, on the description it says 1A60 what does that mean?

1A60 is the headcode of the train, each train that runs on the mainline has a headcode, it is so the signaller knows where the train is going to, plus also is there so that any railway staff that have live maps can search for the train to see where it is and if it is running late.

I think the GC class 43s look great with the small yellow strip, Between the windscreen and the lights! They look smart!

I like the shots of the GC HST alongside a GNER HST, the different liverys make them look like different trains.

Nice to see Valenta HST's still around, very different livery to modern operators. Shame about the fares GC charge though. Am I missing something or are GC fares a little sky high, none of this 'the earlier you book the cheaper you pay' format? Prices seem just a few quid less than a normal saver? I think GC prices are more than double the cheapest GNER (NATEX) book ahead tickets? Looks like no travel for me on GC....

With GC there is no 'The earlier you book, the cheaper you pay...' What you see is what you get. You pay the same price if you walk on as you do if you book 3 months in advance. I think its a great system. Their trains are so nice and clean too :)
