For the people comparing this version to Paul Simon's original - both renditions are absolutely magnificent. And it should be quite an honor for ANY duo to come near the likes of Simon & Garfunkel.
She and Russell are magnificent. My hat is off to him and to be able to do a duet with Sissel. Keep up the wonderful music I can't stop listening too.

@TheGruntHarmonic: Placido performed with her when she was young. He was definitely worthy. Bocelli is OK, but not a great tenor. If you want greatness that matches Sissel's, they're all gone. Jussi Bjorling was the last great tenor, not Pavarotti. Listen to his "O Holy Night.'
Caruso might not have been a good match for Sissel due to his complexity, but he blew a lot of minds in his day. His tinny 1904 recordings of 'Una Furtiva Lagrima' and 'E Lucevan le Stelle' display how great he was.

@tomuchmonkeybiznez actually he's lazy. he moves the mike close and then pulls it far away to modulate to volume instead of doing it on his own, and he does it many times thorughout the song. compare with sissel where the mike is always at the same distance from her mouth. you see a lot of bad singers doing it also.
Oh Lord, the most perfect voice!! I will spend all weekend looking for as much of Sissel as I can find. She is so underrated, what a shame so many with less natural tallent are so praised.
Sissel`s voice is much better than many internationally known sopranos and other big names. Her voice is perfect for classical music and songs like this.
Great performance of both of them. Altough I must say that Sissel is not at the peak of her capabilities that evening. Her voice sounds somehow "flat". Her performance at Drammen theatre is way better: Anyway, enthralling!
Whats the point of getting all dressed up to look so beautiful, and then be barefoot? It looks terrible. If women are going to spend thousands of dollars on an outfit why wouldnt they ware stockings? Dont they realize barefoot makes everything else look bad. It's not like she's on the beach.
I had another source of the same vide, which has a few preliminary comments by both Sissel and Russell. I think thes provide an interesting addition to the video. I think your sound and image quality is better though!
Russell has had two major health problems that began between then and now. He has had brain surgery in recent years to remove cancer. I believe he is in remission now. I do hope so.
May he come back as strongly as Jose Carreras did from his leukaemia.
Great video quality. Not sure what was up with Rusell in this performance, he's normally got such a powerful voice and seems to have been (outwardly at least) having to work hard at this - one can see Sissel being the attentive one doing the work to ensure a blended duet (tightlipped smile at 4:56). Perhaps he had not had as much rehearsal time as they might have liked. Now don't get me wrong, a great duet still, but left with feeling could have really raised hairs on the back of my neck :-)

I noticed you stated this proves it can be sung as a duet. The original in 1970 was Simon and Garfunkel as a duet. It was a chart topper at the time.
Sissel continues to be one of my top favorite singers. She doesn't let you down

Great video quality. Not sure what was up with Rusell in this performance, he's normally got such a powerful voice and seems to have been (outwardly at least) having to work hard at this - one can see Sissel being the attentive one doing the work to ensure a blended duet (tightlipped smile at 4:56). Perhaps he had not had as much rehearsal time as they might have liked. Now don't get me wrong, a great duet still, but left with feeling could have really raised hairs on the back of my neck :-)
