  • Please Tell me how to format the card and copy files to it.. I am using the 8TraXX

  • @TheDhiman86

FIrst format the card in the PC with FAT file system. Then with the 8-TraXX power OFF insert the media press the MUTE ALL button while powering the unit ON. Keep the MUTE ALL pressed during the entire format process. This should take only a minute. When the format is complete the MUTE ALL LED illuminates. Now you can remove the card and copy the sound files from the PC. This is a FAT16 FS so use the file naming limits.

  • Does the CUES go one by one automatically or do I have to press "GO" every time?

So for example I have a show that is 20 min, would I be able to create "CUES" per scene and once I run it, it would just go through all of them??? Or do I have to have someone ready to press "GO" after each one?

    Question 2:

I know you connect the DMX cable to the ENTECC box, but how does the ENTEC box gets the signal from the ipod? Are you using an AIRPORT EXPRESS?

I am about to buy it, but never done any light

  • @c3arts321 Lighting Pad is primarily intended as a test device, although it can be used for small shows. It's not designed to be an automation system, so it doesn't run timecode or step through cues automatically, they need to be manually activated using the GO button.

The Entec box (or other Ethernet to DMX converter) is plugged into an Ethernet port on a wireless router. The iPad is on this same wireless network.

  • @salcorn9 Yeah that is practically what I want to use it for.

    A small show.

I have a dance studio in which we have small shows, but we always have the lights on. It would be nice if we have separate colors per scene and so on.

Sux they don't have a PLAY and let it go option...... but I guess I can have someone ready to press the GO button on a certain timeframe ..... the kids would like it.

It would give our shows a bit more of a professional look than just having all the lights on

  • @c3arts321 Yes, it will work well for that, as long as your lights are DMX controlled. One advantage of LightingPad for casual users is that you can name the cues in English so it's easy for users to select the desired look.

  • @salcorn9 aaand its much cheaper than the Luminair one too....

So the way it sounds is that the configuration I need is as follows:

POWER EXTENTION--> AIRPORT EXPRESS--> ENTTEC ODE --> DMX CABLES to my lights...

Then configure my Ipod with LIGHTING PAD to communicate with my AIRPORT EXPRESS...

    Is that correct???

  • @c3arts321 Yes, I personally haven't tried it with an Airport Express, but that should work fine. Any wireless router with an Ethernet port should do the trick. Or if you have an existing wireless network, you can just plug into that.

  • Do i need to have a light-board?

  • @TechJohnKea You need an Ethernet to DMX converter such as the one made by Art-Net, and DMX controlled lighting dimmers.

  • How can i connect ipad to dmx cable?

  • @haveibutifo You use an Art-Net to DMX converter to connect your wireless network to DMX, such as those made by enttec
