I still wish that at the end of the show Pacey and Andie would have gotten back together at some point. I stopped watching the show after they broke up. They were by far my favorite couple in the whole show.
why the fuck would they delete this? I personaly think the only reason is because the new fans of Dawsons Creek wouldn't know who she was. BUT she was such an important character on the show and Pacey has never had more chemistry with someone than Andie
I think the reason this scene was deleted is that the moment between Pacey and Andie would have been too much of a threat to the validity of the P/J ending. They were initially planning to do a D/J ending, and Pacey and Andie were supposed to go off to dinner together with possibilities ahead, and this scene would have been a great setup for that. But with a P/J ending, this scene just had no place. It's a shame, really. I never thought P/J even compared to P/A, just a ratings stunt really.
@Crazygurl1211 I very much agree with you. It really makes me sick to watch this and know how they screwed them up. You can never beat the perfection of Pacey and Andie in season 2, Pacey in my opinion was never happier than he was with Andie. I wish that they had brought her back in season 5 instead of adding Audrey and made him see what the right choice was. Season 2 happens and I wait all summer for season 3 and blam they are over!!! They should have ended up together!! Joey made him sad!

Agreed! Did you know the pro P/J ratio here is 95%? For every P/A fan here there are 19 P/J fans. Ridiculously bad! By the time the finale aired on the WB syndication rights had already been sold to TBS. Let's assume instead of the 95% here TBS gets 80% of the fan-base in syndication. TBS doesn't pay anything near what they for a that low a return & the WB doesn't give up billions in royalties. They HAD to cut this- P/A were by far the best; they just didn't get the fan support.
Oh my goodness, she is BEAUTIFUL. I always thought she was kind of awkward looking is season 2...even though I loved her! But now...time has done her nothing but favor! BTW, thank you for mentioning that they wanted Pacey and Andie to end up together...even though they didn't, I am much happier knowing they were meant to.
actually in the commentary of williamson he said they wanted pacey to end up with andie and dawson with joey , but monroe was buzy with another project and could only shoot for 1 day , so after he saw the hug scene bet P/J he decided to change the whole second half of finale to what we saw
@drnostalgia1 I saw in an interview with him that they changed it beecause Pacey was only truly happy with Joey and Andie would have been a "consolation prize" . Don't get me wrong i like Andie,but that's just what KW said

Gosh that's exactly what I thought lol; back when I first watch the end of the season 3 (so when George meets her for the first time) I did some research on google because I thought that lexie was actually Andie but she wasn't and I didn't find anything that says that they are related which is weard ^^
Andie really irked me in the beginning but I liked her character more and more as time went on when she stopped being so shrill and mellowed a little bit. In this scene she's a totally different person and much more likable :)

Another scene loved with them was in "The Graduate" when they were at the party on the beach. I love PJ, but PA will always hold a place in my heart b/c Andie really was the first person who saw Pacey for the amazing person he was.

What a waste of time for Meredith to come back and give her character some closure only for us to know this happened cause they put it on the DVD. They totally deleted this because it would've gotten in the way of the Pacey/Joey ending, P/J may be soulmates, but Andie and Pacey will always have that spark, that undeniable chemistry.

UHHH...I can't believe I miss this! And more, I can't believe they cut this essential part in the finale???!!! WTH? That's just crazy...coz Andie is one of the more important characters! Ugh!
During the original run I hated Andie. But after watching the show 9 years later I grew to love her character (although she still was annoying during season 2). I wish they had of kept her scenes in the finale. She was a very important part of the show and she deserved that.
Andie and Pacey went together so well. This should have been their happy ending as it made sense. She was the one that challenged him to suceed in life and they both made each other feel they were worth something. The real ending of Dawson's Creek was so disappointing. Pacey and Joey had their moments but most of the time they had to say the word love to convince the audience it was real, but with Andie and Pacey they didn't often say the word and yet in their moments the audience was convinced.
That's the happy ending many of us wanted. To think that this 1 scene could've made a difference to the writers decission on the ending. I watch all episodes but the ending. there were so many love triangles, love squares, pentagons and even hexagons that there were so many different possibilities that people just make up their own ending. Glad to know there are people still watching Dawson's Creek.
i think i remember hearing they wanted to do more scenes with her but the actress was busy so they decided to delete them all. Gutted cos Andie was my favourite!
Because they're stupid! I'm sorry but Andie was Jen's best girlfriend, not Joey. Pacey needed this speech. Jack needed his sister. The PA shipper needed to see this. I was and still am really mad they cut those scenes. It ruin my final episode in a way...
The writers treated Meredith disgracefully, she was a shining light in a misery filled show.
Meredith deserved better treatment, to hell with those who treated do badly, she's such a sweet gifted comedy actress. She's never really had any significent work since Dawsons, was she black-listed?

Il profondo legame che si nota è dovuto anche al fatto che Joshua Jackson era attaccatissimo e affezionatissimo (come amico) a Meredith Monroe!

They totally deleted this because it would've gotten in the way of the Pacey/Joey ending, P/J may be soulmates, but Andie and Pacey will always have that spark, that undeniable chemistry.

During the original run I hated Andie. But after watching the show 9 years later I grew to love her character (although she still was annoying during season 2). I wish they had of kept her scenes in the finale. She was a very important part of the show and she deserved that.

Andie and Pacey went together so well. This should have been their happy ending as it made sense. She was the one that challenged him to suceed in life and they both made each other feel they were worth something. The real ending of Dawson's Creek was so disappointing. Pacey and Joey had their moments but most of the time they had to say the word love to convince the audience it was real, but with Andie and Pacey they didn't often say the word and yet in their moments the audience was convinced.

That's the happy ending many of us wanted. To think that this 1 scene could've made a difference to the writers decission on the ending. I watch all episodes but the ending. there were so many love triangles, love squares, pentagons and even hexagons that there were so many different possibilities that people just make up their own ending. Glad to know there are people still watching Dawson's Creek.

Because they're stupid! I'm sorry but Andie was Jen's best girlfriend, not Joey. Pacey needed this speech. Jack needed his sister. The PA shipper needed to see this. I was and still am really mad they cut those scenes. It ruin my final episode in a way...

Meredith deserved better treatment, to hell with those who treated do badly, she's such a sweet gifted comedy actress. She's never really had any significent work since Dawsons, was she black-listed?
The show will always be Pacey & Andie to me.
