I make music too, and I agree with you on music is sculpting air. I always saw it as that too, like a painter has his canvas full of colors, musicians have a canvas full of noises made by mathematically(or randomly, ala abstract art..) arranging air.
I think it's b/c ZooG has such a philosophical view of music--exploring every level on which it effects us--that he can make such good music. It's like he wants to experiment with us... what beats jolt our hearts, what sounds lusciously vbrate in our ears? He has a really unique approach, and a lot of skill to go with it :]
Noise is music, music is just a collection of tones and frequencies set to a tempo and rythem. anything can be music, its all in the mind of whos doing it and whos listening. great interview cant wait for the rest.
the only time music is honestly noise, is when the individual listening strongly dislikes the music, but it is only noise to that person. it may be the most beautiful sound ever to someone else and become the soundtrack for their life!
@publicdrunkeness I agree, but you are not taking into consideration such genres as noise rock, noisegrind, etc. which use "noise" (distortion and other such effects) to make an abstract form of music
He looks older because of his supreme wisdom! xD

Zoog has his head on straight and is so in tune with art and reality. Definitely someone I'd love to have around me.
