Buddy how bout you read the bible BEFORE you make predictions about how Christianity works... what, so you just assume that god is like your imaginary wizard that can grant you whatever you want?? No. If say you were sick and people were praying for you but you still died, that doesn't mean god failed you, as Christians we believe god has taken that person back to our real home, heaven... yes its sad that they passed away, but at the same time you are happy that they are with god in heaven.
God is simply put, something to believe in. We all have stress and to relieve it we hand it over to an imaginary friend. Believe what you desire. It's been my experience that people who believe in prayer are those who have led privileged lives since childhood. Their belief in prayer has always been reinforced by never having a prayer unanswered. They want something, they get it (because they can afford it), and then they thank god for their good fortune. I think people who have repeatedly prayed for something that was actually important and have never received an answer might think differently.
the 'wait' clause is invalid. you can't take a raincheck on a prayer - it's just a method of avoiding the disappointment chrisitans feel when their 'prayers' go unanswered merely because they asked and didn't follow up

You don´t get it. Atheists think they can prove that prayer sometimes isn´t working, but I´ll tell you why. Jesus sad: "If you´re telling a mountain to jump into a lake, and you really believe that it will, it´s yours!" Don´t you get it? Some people think they can just prey something and then it´s done, but no, you need to believe. If you do not believe, you have shown God that you don´t actually think anything is gonna happen. This is the only thing that makes some prayers unanswered.

I'm an atheist, and I find this very zealotic. You're stating your opinion, and even though I agree, there are people that don't, and they have a right to disagree, and follow their beliefs. You can't say "God is imaginary", you can only say "I don't believe in God".

god doesn't always answer yes. here's an easy proof. there is no one that has been living since the dawn of man. dying people get prayed for all the time. there is no world peace and its been prayed for, there is still cancer and divorce among christians who pray for it not to be. there are still starving children that have been prayed for.

There is no illusion to prayer. To have a deep rooted belief in something, gives all of us an anchor that helps those who believe something to fall on. Call it gullabilty, i don't care. I will say this, having a belief system, be it Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc., helps you cope with lifes tough moments. It allows you to kind of pass the buck to the big guy up there so you can move on with your everday life. I know that last sentence sounds blasphemous but that's the only way...

Secondly, in the bible God gave us free will so that we can decide for ourselves whether He exists or not. First, as an Atheist it bothers me deeply when flawed arguments, such as this, are "used" to discredit Theism. For starters, the amount of assumption made in this video is staggering. Worst of all, most of them have nothing to do with the argument, their sole purpose is to boost the ego of the Theists watching telling them how smart they are so they HAVE to accept what he says because only a stupid person would think otherwise.
The problem with this video is that it's using rational thought. Theists don't believe in god because of any rational reason... they believe in god because they WANT it to be true.

It's been my experience that people who believe in prayer are those who have led privileged lives since childhood. Their belief in prayer has always been reinforced by never having a prayer unanswered. They want something, they get it (because they can afford it), and then they thank god for their good fortune. I think people who have repeatedly prayed for something that was actually important and have never received an answer might think differently.

Jesus sad: "If you´re telling a mountain to jump into a lake, and you really believe that it will, it´s yours!" Don´t you get it? Some people think they can just prey something and then it´s done, but no, you need to believe. If you do not believe, you have shown God that you don´t actually think anything is gonna happen. I highly doubt anyone really beliefs in the Great Pumpkin, so its okay to say that doesn't exist. I dont think the jug of milk will give me a positive answer. When it is right for the moment, God will always say yes. Asking for more faith is always right and it is only by praying to GOD and by reading the BIble that we can have this. Praying to a jug of milk is coincidence...but not to God.

@AnonymoussourceL0L Well he does say yes or wait for things like that. If youve prayed for someone or something to happen that is good or will help someone then he will say yes or wait. Last night there was a tornado that touched down a mile from my house..... we prayed and nothing happened to us the tornado went past us. That shows that prayer works.

@WFFLPWND I saw your other comments regarding where we come from? Nothing can come from nothing. Here is my best example, if there is a painting, it has a painter. If there is a building, it has a builder. Painters and builders use things in existence and reposition them (transform them if you will) into something beautiful. If at first there was nothing, what exactly did God use to create the universe? Certainly not a tool, there was nothing remember? So nothingness can come from nothingness.

@WFFLPWND Yes I do believe in Evolution and yes the Earth is billions of years old. The earth was dated using radiometry. It's not 4000 years old. It was PROVEN to be MUCH older than that. The bible (if I am correct) never mentions dinosaurs or anything of that nature. However, you know just as well as I do, that we found true fossils of dinosaurs. They existed! Does this mean the bible is lying to us? I have my reasons to doubt God, and religion in general. Facts are facts.

Really do you believe that digging up a part of earth and putting it in a liquid proves age? There was a man that sent a chicken bone to some scientist and they tested it. They said it was a couple million years old when it was a week old.

Religion gets people to believe and base their life on something that is there is no proof of.
Religion stops people from thinking rationally and objectively by teaching what "god" wants.
Religion is the cause of more deaths in history than anything else.
Religion doesn't offer equal rights to women or homosexuals. (If "god" made them why wouldn't their lives be worth the same as heterosexual males?)

There is no illusion to prayer. To have a deep rooted belief in something, gives all of us an anchor that helps those who believe something to fall on. Call it gullabilty, i don't care. I will say this, having a belief system, be it Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc., helps you cope with lifes tough moments. It allows you to kind of pass the buck to the big guy up there so you can move on with your everday life. I know that last sentence sounds blasphemous but that's the only way...

Secondly, in the bible God gave us free will so that we can decide for ourselves whether He exists or not. First, as an Atheist it bothers me deeply when flawed arguments, such as this, are "used" to discredit Theism. For starters, the amount of assumption made in this video is staggering.
