  • I love roses (I fell in love with Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose thanks to one of your fantastic reviews) and I've been looking for another rose perfume to fall in love with. Looks like this one might do the trick!

  • @pascha120 Oh yes! Stella will do ya right.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Tea Rose is a total comfort scent for me so yay for a different rose scent I'll have to sink my nose into! Well it's either this one or the Absolute version b/c I've heard really good things about it too. :)

Seems like the general consensus on the original Stella is pretty positive so I'm guessing the original must be pretty office friendly too?

  • @pascha120 Office friendly if you don't apply too much, because the musk is pretty prominent. The Absolute version is sooooo pretty, more impact on the rose.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Ooh thanks for the tip re Absolute! I only just found out about online shops that sell decanters/vials so Absolute is definitely on my sample list now.

  • 0:42 Free Perv Replay

  • katiepuckriksmells stella is an amazing floral perfume that changes as soon as you apply it it begins sweet and ends spicy

  • @jamesfinney95 I love how deep and long lasting it is.

  • is it just me but i smell coffee whenever i wear this perfume

  • @songhug It might just be you! I've never heard of that happening...

  • I love that necklace!

  • @LovelyMorwen Thanks! It's a leather flower on a leather cord. I'm not really sure if it's a belt (the cord is really long), but I also wear it as a bracelet, too.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Thanks for the info! Will definitely get my hands on Stella Rose Absolute! =)

  • Its my all time favorite perfume, and yes, like other people, I do get asked all the time of what am I wearing, I think the smell of it is seducing sometimes. And I can't get enough of it. Haven't tried Stella Sheer though. Love Stella!

  • @simarvld The Sheer versions are sweeter, probably won't hit the spot for you. If you ever come across Stella Rose Absolute, try that one - it's a richer, denser version of the original Stella.

  • Hey katie could you recommend a perfume for work.something that smells fresh.thank you.

  • @friscobiatch78 You could try Redcurrant Basil by Fresh, which smells so pretty, goes on fruity/fresh and dries down bit powdery. I also like 2 new ones from Chloe: Lavande and Neroli. Also check out Christian Dior Escale à Pondichéry. A straight-ahead, bright, crisp grapefruit one is Hesperides by Fresh.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Thanx for the suggestions.

  • @friscobiatch78 Sure thing.

  • Stoner munchie mix LOL!

  • I LOVE this perfume... U are so right it does sneek up on you ... I forget I have it on and when people stop me to ask me what I am wearing I kinda giggle and tell them Stella by Stella Mc CArtney they love it = )

  • @LINDOCULIACAN Stella is indeed a quiet but insinuating beauty.

  • Hi Katie ,

I love the stella original , but was thinking about stella nude .

Have you tried it yet ? Anything worthwhile ?

  • Stellanude takes the rosiness down several notches and pumps up the bright musk. It's very much that "laundry musk" kind of scent, kind of an amplified clean. I prefer the original.

  • this is a nice perfume, but youre right its a bit soapy at first

  • Some perfumes take little while to reach their full grooviness.

  • I love this review on Stella. Stella is a favorite of mine and I have been puzzling over the years for the perfect words to describe it. Your description is DEFINITELY most accurate and closest to the way I'd describe it - if only I could find the words! One more thing...I noticed the comment by a reader about something of the "playdoh" scent to it. From the first time I sniffed Stella I detected a similarity to the fragrance of the '70's "Flower Collection" little kiddle doll named "Rose"'

  • Yeah! Liddle Kiddles!

Glad I hit the spot with my Stella description. Can't say I detect Play-Doh in it, though.

  • Stella is my favorite perfume! it makes me feel sooo sexy! :) I wear it when I go on dates!

  • Ooh yeah - Stella makes a great "come closer" fragrance for a date.

  • Katie, I love the stained glass panel you have in the background. They look like something I saw in an antique store in Virginia once.

  • Actually I did get that panel in the DC area!

  • Hmmmm...I have worn both of these and I don't get beginner rose or movie candy or sneaky rose or salty musk. I wore a rose oil many many many years ago and recently tried it again. I like it but don't descriminate against other light florals. But I love how you describe the fragrances. It puts scent on a whole new level! Peace!

  • Glad you like the reviews, ADC, even though you're smelling something different. If you haven't already, check out Stella Nude, which is less sweet than Sheer 09 and less forceful than the original Stella - not that Stella's all that forceful...

  • Thanks, Miss Katie, I have it on my list to try out Stella Nude. I smelled a sample in a magazine and even though I don't think those can be trusted, ;-) I thought it was nice.

  • I'm never sure if I'm not just smelling the glue on those scent strips, or what.

  • Love your reviews

  • I love your hair up.

  • Thank you!

  • katie ur discriptions of fragrance is amazing i love it, it just makes me giggle but ur so right :)

  • Glad you're giggling...thanks!

  • You hit the nail on the head! Stella and Creed's Fleur de The Rose Bulgare were my beginner roses and the first 'serious' perfumes in my scent addiction. Now I need something a touch darker like Lipstick Rose, Une Rose and about a hundred others (I'm crazy about goth roses!). And for summery girly roses Armani Prive Rose Alexandrie is a very simple effective pick me up too.

  • Frederic Malle Une Rose is my newest passion. I'm wearing it right now, as a matter of fact!

  • your videos always make me smile.

  • Thx indeedy!

  • I love your reviews!

  • Thanks for watching, hazelpurr.

  • KT I can really tell you like this perfume. Also, loving you rocking that hair.

  • Thanks, dazigg!

  • Stella is great! I really appreciate it as an abstract rose, but it's too much of a soliflore for me (could be my rookie nose passing over a bunch of other notes). If I had to pick a rose soliflore, though, Stella would be it! I've been loving Rose Absolute lately by Yves Rocher. It has the salty rosiness of Stella, with a bit of tonka and a huge dose of patchouli. I also get a tart, fruity, citrusy accord and an unexpected Play-Doh note. Worth a try if you're digging rose at the moment.

  • WS, I'm not familiar with Yves Rocher Rose Absolue, and I just read up on it, and it sounds like something I need to snort, and soon. Thank you for tipping me off to this one. I'm thinking the Play-Doh note could be the creamy amber?

  • It could very well be; I've sniffed a Play-Doh note in other perfumes and could never identify what exactly it was. I'm not usually a fan of it (I loved the stuff growing up but never thought I'd want it in my perfume) and I think I literally recoiled when I smelled Demeter's Play-Doh from their Fragrance Libraries Collection, but somehow it just works in Rose Absolute. I think that it just takes a backseat to everything else and makes it more interesting.

  • dude your nose is awesome ^_^

  • My nose thanks you!

  • Hey Katie when a perfume online store describes a smell and they use the words must and musk, are they talking about the same thing? and if not what is the difference between the two?

    thank you (:

  • I've not ever heard of the term "must" applied to fragrance. Don't know what that is, I'm afraid.

  • off topic but...I love your hair in this vid : D

  • Thanks, moo!

  • 'stoner munchie mix'.

i want stella sheer now just for that.

also, you hair is blummin' awesome in this video :D

  • Ha-ha!

    Thx...

  • I've been loving the smell of roses lately! I used some rose-scented liquid hand soap one day and kept sniffing my fingers after. Do you know of any rose perfumes for men? Love your review! Your skin is gorgeous! =D

  • OK, brian, get ready for some man-friendly roses:

Chanel Égoïste (the original, not Platinum; spicy rose & sandalwood)

Aveda Ancient Attar (rose, neroli, sandalwood)

    Aveda Yatra (rose patchouli)

The rest of the list are niche fragrances, all available at LuckyScent, where you can buy little samples to try....

  • Czech & Speak No. 88 (dark, soapy rose; this one is a very popular gateway rose fragrance for guys; fun fact: Ozzy Osbourne wears it!)

Czech & Speake Dark Rose (saffron rose & oud)

Eau d'Italie Paestum Rose (arid incense rose)

    Keiko Mecheri Oliban (cedar/rose/frankincense)

LArtisan Parfumeur Voleur de Roses (rose/plum/patchouli)

Le Labo Rose 31 (peppery rose)

    10 Corso Como (rose/sandalwood/oud)

Amouage Lyric Men (rose & greenery)

  • Oh, and a great mainstream one that works for men is...tah-dah...Stella McCartney Stella (salty rosy musk)

  • Thanks Katie! Oh dear, my Perfume Wishlist is getting longer... =D The rose+incense blend is intriguing! Have you sniffed Chloe Eau de Parfum? I've read that it's another perfume built around roses. The bottle is beautiful. Thanks again!

  • Chloe is a VERY soapy rose, more soap than rose.

  • Really? That's sad. The fragrance seemed promising. I hope Stella is sold here in the Philippines, we sometimes don't get not-so mainstream brands. Thanks Katie!

  • I'm a BIG fan of Stella perfumes. There is a new one released recently called Nude. Could you please review it? we still did not get in Dubai. Also, If you could review Nina Richi's latest, Richi Richi. Many thanks for your videos. I love them all :)

  • Glad you're getting a kick out of the vids. My review of Stella Nude is on my blog, KatiePuckrikSmells dot c o m - it's the post with this Stella/Stella Sheer vid on top.

  • Purchased Stella months ago...get compliments whenever it is worn. I love your hair in this video... fits your personality better. I will look for a sample of the limited edition Stella to smell for myself. I'm glad you did a review on this perfume. Your promise was fulfilled. :) Thank you.

  • Thanks, cp! Stella has a lovely mystery about it.

  • hey katie- i was just wondering- do you buy all the perfumes you review, or do you just get samples?

  • I generally get samples and decants of the perfumes I review. Sometimes I pick up samples at Sephora and the department stores, and sometimes the various perfume co's send them to me. But many of my reviews are things from my personal collection.

  • haha i love you katie! have you smelled paris hilton's siren yet? i dunno if i should try it.

  • Haven't smelled it. Saw the ad where she's a mermaid. Have you tried it? What's it like?

  • oh i haven't tried it yet! i was just wondering if you had! i heard it's actually a semi decent fragrance!

  • So funny! :)

  • hey katie, just letting u know i got the gap perfume from the contest yesterday. thanks for holding that giveaway!

  • So happy to hear that! Thanks for letting me know.

  • Fab review, they just keep getting better! I wish I liked Stella better, but unfortunately I just can't pull off rose dominated scents :(

  • I "knaw" what chu mean ;D

    Thanks for the review~

  • Loved the review!! I have to try it :D

  • how pretty you are today miss katie! love the vid as usual!

    hugs sweetie!

    diz

  • Oh my goodness I JUST bought this!!! I literally showed it in my haul video yesterday. But my description of it "a smokey floral" is nothing compared to yours! Love ya Katie. Great review as always!

    _gabriella

  • Thanks so much, Gabriella!

  • no problem, you deserve it :)

  • I could not wear Stella. It was too strong for me. As always, great review!!!!!

  • I Hae gt too say im not too keen on the hairstyle or the nech thinging , No offence (n)

  • Just changin' it up, the way I do in "real life".

  • thanx for the review, you're review is fascinating as always.

As much as I love stella, i settled for Stella in Two Peony since it's more fresh and modern

  • Stella was right about her step mother and she is right about perfume, and fashion.

  • Yeah, you have to give her that - she read Heather Mills from the start.

  • And she had the guts to come out and say it, Dad probably still resents it. There's a reason people say don't shoot the messenger, because it happens.

  • So very true.

  • Its like flares, people forget they look bad and before you know it they are back in fashion. I mean, hello ? But if you say that ? Well don't come crying to me when you can't show people photos of your youth, thats all i to say.

  • What was your favorite perfume in high school, Katie?

  • First it was Coty Muguet des Bois, then it was Chanel Cristalle EDT.

  • What, no Malibu Musk?

  • Musk was never my cup of Tang as a young 'un. Never. I've gotten more "bestial" in recent years.

  • Stella is my fav perfume EVER. unfortunatly it has been discontinued where I live :(

  • Sorry to hear that - but you can still track it down online.

  • Not only do you smell, you hit the nail on the head every single time...er...kinda like you have smelled before or something.

Just a note on the rose. To me, it can be one of the most offensive fragrances out there OR one of the most delightful ,(kinda like Lavender) depending on the quality and proportions. So cheap or so expensive....vast ends of the spectrum.

  • Agreed on how rose can be elevated or trashed, depending on the composition.

  • could you do a review on jessica simpson's fancy? Im real big on celebrity perfumes but only if they smell good and with so many its hard to smell them all without burning your nose hairs lol

  • I have no nose hairs left at this stage of my smelling career.

  • thank you Katie, the day befor yasterday I tried both of them.

    lov ya

  • Which one did you prefer?

  • Sheer,is less head-achy

  • Thanks for the the feedback!

  • thanks

    lov yo darling

  • This one sounds nice, I guess I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

  • I haven't tried this but I have had something that smells like what you just described. No thanks. I think it sounds like a cheap thrill. I do love your hair style.

  • This may be my favourite review ever.

  • stoner munchie mix!? count me in ;-)

  • Thank you for doing this review! Stella is my go-to everyday perfume, and I love it dearly. It's subtle, professional, and feminine in all the right places.

  • omg i love the way you said ..."salty musk" and then stare at the camera tilting head, in a surprised suductive way i don't think has ever been done before! lol

  • sometimes foreplay gets in the way.... ROFL !!!!!!! :D

  • that's the one that cracked me up. too! and that look when she said it... hehehe Katie, you're a genius!

  • PS I just added you to my "Other Great Channels You should Subscribe to " box on my channel page ^_^ <3 ya!

  • LMAO! YOu videos never cease to crack me up!

  • I love this, I have the big bottle. It's one of my every day perfumes. And I'm not an "old lady" at 27.

  • im definately a musk, woods, patchouli girl sexy tones r the ones i like i love prada parfum its just perfect for me i used to love samsara years ago and ive heard mathew williamson smells nice x

  • With Love... Hilary Duff (my favorite perfume)

    D&G 18 La Lune

Also, check out these lovely roses:

    Perfumer's Workshop Tearose

    Jo Malone Red Roses

    Rochas Tocade

  • Erm, I just woke up so I'll have to comment for real later, but the point of this comment, thanks for another great review XD *hugz his pillow*

  • Wow. Big hair girl.

  • I love Stella. It is one of my favorites.

  • I think Stella is quite nice, but it smells like an old lady. It reminds me of my grandmother and old ladies in general.

    know wot I mean? haha

  • I love Stella. Got it as one of my free samples last time I shopped at Sephora.

  • Could you do a review on Pink Sugar Perfume by Aquolina?

  • I"ve had so many requests for this one, it's about time I do a review. I shall endeavor to get one in soon.

  • have you tried stella nude?

  • My review of Stella Nude is on my blog, KatiePuckrikSmells dot c o m - it's the post with this Stella/Stella Sheer vid on top.
