these guys are even more amazing in person. i have met them all at my barbershop camp they were the teaching quartet and i got to know the guy who sings lead family pretty well
love how a great quartet sang these legit barbershop songs. it shows that you don't have to sing some crazy arr. to win. these arr are from wayyy back in the day!
Was that the stanard chart tag for Wait til the Sunshines Nellie? LOL, just kidding. Unbelievable how a couple of polecats can sound and ring like that.
I think this could very well be the really solid blending quartet of this decade... I mean look at how they can slide and harmonize all slides... and win with classic songs... its nearly unheard of.
Gotcha! is the first quartet that REALLY moved me. I was devastated when they announced that they were retiring at the 2008 International AIC Show a few days ago. I can honestly say that I don't hold any quartet in higher regard, and I've listened to a LOT of quartets. Phil DeBar is my dad (if that means anything to anyone) and I know amazing quartets when I see them! :) they won't be forgotten, that's for sure
There is nothing like ringing the old songs and then to win the whole international contest with two standards is unbelievable. I know they ring when I sing them but I have never heard them ring like that. I don't think they missed one chord without an overtone. WOW!!! Awesome job.
He was the bari for Uptown Sound, multi-time silver medalists. Went to school with him. They have a similar look (goatee, hairstyle) is all I meant, but Garry's a little taller.
Gotcha rocks my socks! Love you guys! Had a blast with y'all at HX Camp in Rochester NY! I especially loved "More I Cannot Wish You..." my *dedication*.. hehehe! HUGS!
They performed at the show for the summer camp I attended this last weekend. The bass was unable to attend, so Cory from OC Times was filling in for him. Something about a hip replacement.
This chord slide is just incredable, definately the most impressive i've heard in barbershop! It just keeps going and going, and you can't guess where it leads, love it!
No, he's right. Gotcha! was known as a "ventriloquist quartet", being that their mouths never matched the words. Even when they appeared to stop singing, there was still sound coming from somewhere, and vice versa. Quite a rare talent for 4 guys to master!!!
The slide at 7:00 made me chordgasm hardcore. You guys owe me a new laptop. :P

This is awesome. Who did the Old Mill Stream arrangement? Is it Burt Szabo's?

I think that the slide at 7:00 has the potential to cause random time leaps.

@barbershopgirl92 The lead is my cousin. I'm hoping that when he comes into town, I will have improved my voice so we can have a family quartet =)
