  • Couldn't I just shove a potato in the hole to quiet it down? lol J/K

    VT247

  • LOL!!! XD thanks for your videos!

  • You work on so many nice cars. E30's, RX-7's, Celica's. Im jealous

  • The car blew its rape whistle when you were jacking it up?..

    :3

  • lmfao Scott your awesome @ 0:41 your an awesome sport, just keep rolling!

  • Hhahahhaaa!!! At 41 seconds mark!!! Funny shit Scotty! LOL! Love your videos!

  • 41 sec is hilarious looks like scotty about had a heart attack sorry scotty it was just funny love ya man

  • I just did a cheap fix on my 1997 dodge ram, There is plate that keeps the heat away from the spare tire, And it started rattling for some reason. What I did is i took a metal Coat hanger, cut it, And twisted it on like a bread tie, the rattling has stopped, but can anything wrong Happen from this?

  • @theonlyman9319 na, just a heat shield, really, most are gone when that old anyway.

  • @theonlyman9319 In Britain (where its cold) we pull the heat shields off!

They rattle and serve no purpose to us.

In hotter climates, they might have a small purpose, but I can't imagine they're that good anyway.

  • hey scotty you got any tips on cleaning mufflers? mines got corrosion and i don't know how to make them shiny again

  • @shadow1up they're super hot and get wet and corrode. Really they just get dirty. You can try any type of metal polish if you want to go that far though.

  • @scottykilmer so they wont fall apart if you don't clean them?

  • @shadow1up No, they all get dirty, unless they are stainless steel ones.

  • What if thrs a leak coming from the muffler?

  • @diszkidwaszheresz you either patch the leak with welding, or replace the muffler.

  • Hey Scotty, Thank you for making this wonderful video, I can now change my muffler. Sweet Caddy hearse too btw, is she yours??

  • @Theguido177 nope, a customer's wagon

  • @scottykilmer Not into Cadillacs Scotty?

  • @Theguido177 Oh, I'm into them, into the hood trying to fix their insane designs. That's why I'd never own one.

  • @scottykilmer Lol, Stick to a classic one. Like a 1976 Coupe De'ville. Or your more of a speed then fancy kind of guy?

  • Hey Scotty, i have a 99 kia sophia 5 speed 4cl and i was looking at the engine and it smelt like gas. Is this anything serious? or as simple as fuel injectors? Thanks

  • @kr3wson many things can do that, check for fuel leaks at all the seal connections on the fuel lines to the injectors first.

  • @scottykilmer Ok thanks

  • hey Scotty, why do you always say "rev up your engine?" is there an good reason, my instructor always teach me keep the rev low, quiet, smooth.

  • @dabaox yea, it's Show business. it sounds good and goes with the music on my intros. And you can't do burnouts unless you revv the engine up, or have a motor with say 700 hp that can do it without revving up. More show business there. People like to be entertained.

  • @scottykilmer it's a great intro i never skip it keep up the good work

  • Just cut the bolts and nuts withou spraying anything. New bolts and nuts are very cheap and you can use normal 8.8. There's usually no reason to waste time trying to open bolts and nuts that are part of in exhaust.

  • @bujashaka ah, but this german car is almost 30 years old, and they came off and I reused em as they were still strong as hell. I hate searching for the right size nuts and bolts .

  • Scotty, my 1994 GMC Sierra pulls to the right all the time, but it gets considerably worse under breaking, to the point where I have to fight the wheel to brake in a straight line. What do you think the problem could be?

  • @wavejumpinseadoo braking will make pulling worse if the front end pulls anyway. Get thee to a front end shop for an estimate on damage and repair costs. Most give free estimates .

  • how do you replace a exhaust tip?

  • @miamiheat4251 just cut off the old rotten part and either bolt on a replacement that slips over or weld a new one on

  • @scottykilmer Thanks very much

  • Scotty, I have a 95 GMC Sonoma. I had a leak between my exhaust flange. I thought that was the problem making the noise and the hood smell, but that wasn't it. When I open the hood, I think I smell more exhaust than I should. There is no exhaust while sitting in the car, but I'm concerned. All other gaskets seem fine. What could be the culprit?

  • @lllllllRobot get a smoke machine hooked up and see where the smoke comes out, that's what I do. If you can't do that, run it and feel with your bare fingers carefully for exhaust blowing out leak areas

  • scotty can i please ask why did a horn sound when you were jacking up the car???

  • ok this toyota ad is startin to piss me off

  • @dwss2012 Ah, but would you rather have me make No more videos. Someone has to pay the piper, I, like everyone else in this society, have bills to pay.

  • @scottykilmer i completely understand..... the bills here in detroit are insane.

i just got my first car and started watchin you videos to figure out how to fix it but if you wanna flip out over one little comment than maybe you shouldnt reply at all..... just sayin

  • @dwss2012 Ah , but one must respond to such comments to show how the world turns. Many people live in a fantasy world here on the net. Pretending to be things they are not. I am not one of them.

  • @scottykilmer im not pretending to be something im not, that last comment was exactly who i am. i know how the world works im not tryin to debate any thing with you. it was just a comment nothing els and im glad your still replying to me, i enjoy your videos, and was wondering if you could make a video about replacing steering columns cause like i said, i just got my first car and it needs work..... thanks

  • @dwss2012 Scotty just block idiots like this dwss2012. Hell by today's standards it almost seems to be taboo to be a realist like yourself. Just read any dumb teenager's posts on Facebook and you'll realize what a "fake" world we live in sometimes.

  • @scottykilmer i love how you add a personal touch to your channel scotty, you always help people out with answers and when imbeciles post stuff that is like you say from the fantasy world of the internet where they can say what they like etc... you put them in their place!!

    BRAVO!

  • @dwss2012 just how did he flip out he was just being meaningfull and pointfull and a little sarcastic in a uninsulting way to make a point when your 50 or so like scotty is i might be off a few years you know the meanings of things but when your 19 like you are understandings of things like scotty said is taken more than it should be

  • @stingray300m any sarcasm in text form sounds like flipping out

  • @dwss2012 no thats just the way he is he was not fliping out now if it was like a cuse word added and more intense words than yeah it would be sorta be fliping out but thats just the way he is you commeted on the ads and i guess he gets paid for the ads that gets put in his videos it sounds like what hes saying is yeah i know you dont like the ads but i have bills to pay like every one ealse because iem the only one working

  • @stingray300m you two should get a life, a student life.

  • @diistriitglow WANNA JOIN US your of age 20

  • @scottykilmer

No doubt. Save hundreds on a repair and all you have to do is watch a commercial. Sounds like a good deal to me.

  • just wondering why at 2:18 and 2:22 why the drive shaft and tire was spinning while in park.

  • @arntweallgood when cars are up in the air, any tiny force will make the wheels spin, that's normal.

  • @scottykilmer ok cool. but i also have to say you really know your stuff, thanks for posting videos. their really good.

  • sounds beautiful. you don't need a muffler

  • Comment removed

  • your videos are helpful, thank you. regards from Malaysia.

  • I have a question I thought about after redoing my exhaust. I bought replacement exhaust piping and some fit-it-in muffler and used the U-shaped bolt-on clamps they sell in the auto parts store. seeing metal expands when hot, to get the tightest seal between the pipes, should I go back once the car/exhaust is warmed up and tighten up the bolts a little more, if possible? obviously being careful not to touch the hot pipes/muffler too. thanks

  • @Vacmasterthegreat Yes, retightening it is often a good idea.

  • Lol 00:41

  • please please make a video on the hearse! those cars are soo cool!

  • @crammage I make em as i fix em. if he breaks down again, I'll make one.

  • @scottykilmer so what was wrong with the hearse?

  • @crammage bad ignition control module

  • @scottykilmer i see

  • @scottykilmer lol Scotty I love how you dropped that BMW so fast with that Pump Jack lol

  • @scottykilmer Hey, Scotty, it's Neal, owner of the now famous '90 hearse, Mortimer II! When I was out of town and I called you about it not starting, it was determined by a "recommended" small town mechanic that I needed a new computer. They said it was fried and prevented it from starting. For $250, he replaced the computer, and gas mileage has been pretty much back to normal, but now it idles poorly. It throws engine code E30: "ISC RPM Out Of Range." Simple fix, or shall I bring it in?

  • 1."so where gonna jack it up here, and looks whats under there"

    2.DHHHHHHHUUUUUUUAAAAAAA!

    3.AHHHH CRAP!

  • Hi sir, do you know where to lower rear strut bar on '02 accord, is it on subframe???

  • @ZXiPoZ I never lower cars, it ruins their ride and also damages transmissions. so I have no advice on that one.

  • @scottykilmer Lowering doesn't always do that Scott. I fitted coilovers to my corsa and it was the WORST thing ever. I now have -40mm springs and shortened shocks and its not equally as comfortable as stock but it drives alot nicer around corners. Having it all set up professionally after helped.

Good video's btw, you have some cars around don't you!

  • hi scotty, i got a 2001 toyota echo as a birthday present, & the first day i got it, its battery died,, we got it jump started & left it for 4 hours, came back & its slowly cranking, & blowing white smoke, just went and tried again, & it wont start, whats going on?

  • @AllWheelsFilming white smoke is a blown head gasket, check my video "how to find out if your head gasket is blown"

  • @scottykilmer doesnt white smoke come out when its cold outside? or when you leave it over night and it accumulates moister ? becuase if not then wow i seen alot of car with blown head gaskets

  • Woah watch the jack scotty!! Go slow when you release the jack!

  • @Gasser4x4 that's for entertainment purposes only, I like the way it comes out on film.

  • Hi Scotty, my exhaust resonator got busted because of constantly hitting a speed bump in the area near my house. What kind of replacement exhaust resonator is best aside from the OEM resonator? The OEM is the last one I'd choose because it'd just get busted again from being hit by the same speed bump. My car is not lowered by the way, and everything is stock. Right now, it's currently running straight pipe after the catalytic converter as a temporary fix while I search for a different resonator.

  • @justin03211993 if it has a muffler, and that is really only a resonator, just put pipe in it's place. but if it's a muffler, go to a discount muffler shop and ask for the thinnest muffler they have.

  • Hi scotty, i drive a 2001 toyota echo & the other night it had a flat battery, i was unexplainable, we got our mobile mechanic to jump start it, & everything was fine, now today when we went to start it it cranked slowly & then started, & was blowing out white smoke that smelt very oily, can you tell me whats wrong, as im a student, & got this car for my birthday, i cant afford much :(

  • @AllWheelsFilming change the battery, and pray it's just that. White smoke though is often a head gasket starting to leak, check the coolant and top it up if it loses any.

  • hello sir..i liked ur videos..almost watched all..i hv acura tl 2000..m in a mess with my car..its steering wheel shakes when car goes 110kmph or up..went to mechanic..done wheel balancing..alignmentt check..checked the ball joints and ends..but unable to fix the shakes..!! do i need to change the tyres..?? still hv at least 50% grip on them... not enjoying the ride now..bt dont wanna sell it too.cuuz m in love with the car...heeeelllllpppp mmeeeee..!!!!!!!!

  • @smahey86 put the front tires on the back, if the shaking goes away, replace em. if not, see a better front end mechanic to align it correctly.

  • @smahey86 tires*

  • Hey scotty, basic question. I was told you can bridge the OBD-II connector to get your air bag light to blink. Does this work for a 2002 VW Jetta? I don't know which ones to bridge and don't wanna ruin the computer.

  • @sweetsanctum480 Not on a VW, you need a dealer level scan computer to work on that air bag system.

  • hi, Scotty, would you make a video on how to replace throttle converter. sometime my car won't go up to 3000 rpm in the morning when it is really cold. but when i restart it, everything seems go back to normal. btw, i have 2000 honda accord standard, 220k on it already.

  • @zliong1 take apart the entire throttle assembly off the engine and clean every stinking hole inside, they often carbon up on high mileage hondas

  • What's amazing is that while mechanics are out there ripping people off, you are here helping everyone save money and that is amazing.

Keep up the good work Scotty.

  • @elvismanrocks yes, and what's really amazing is that some people complain about my videos, takes all kinds I guess.

  • Comment removed

  • i know this may not be you're forte scotty, however maybe you would know so i shall ask.

would changing out the muffler of a car to a "performance muffler" give you any real horsepower gains? or is it a matter of changing out the entire exhaust system? :) thanks in advance!

  • @bimmerfan911 Not much, and in late model cars it can make them run worse by confusing the computer and sensors.

  • Lol at 0:41

  • the music at the very end of these videos always scare the shit outta me

  • Love these vids!

  • I love this guy...he has save me so much money

  • How much more can you fix

  • it was easy due to the connection of bolts and flange,,,, but what about cars - just like my old car - that need to be welded by gas or electric welding ??!!!!,, how can i do it my self????,, may be by using SUPER GLUE i think??!!!!!! lllooooooooollllll

  • @knightmare77012 drive it to the exhaust place yourself haha

  • @knightmare77012 NA, you can cut the old parts off with a hack saw and get ones with pipes that fit over the old ones and clamp on, adaptor fittings are available at any auto store.

  • @scottykilmer I think if the muffler is welded on, then it can be cut with a reciprocating saw, then duck tape the new muffler to the old pipe real good. That should do the trick!

  • @TutorialTipCom It's Duct tape, and that's insane, it would melt.

  • @scottykilmer I know I was kidding hahaha. Did you really think that I was serious hehehe!

  • Hey Scotty! What happened to the answers forum on your page? doesn't look like we can ask questions anymore? just wondering =D Stay cool.

  • love the BMW

  • Very nice video Scotty. Don't feel bad about getting startled by the alarm. The first time I put a jack under my MINI the alarm scared the living shit out of me LOL!

  • best help anywere

  • the herste said mortimer on the back of it

  • why did the horn beep when you jacked it up?

  • i brought my car recently. im not sure if it has a leak in the exhaust or if it has an aftermarket exhaust. how do i check?

  • nice hearse ride, scotty...by the way, I was able to check on my battery draining issue and it was the alternator that keeps on draining my battery when it sat for a day or two. thumbs up for guys like you, scotty. keep up the very good work.

  • hey how come u do all those different angles and stuff. seems like alot of time and effort.

  • @dodge2289 yes, and that's how I got 10 million people to watch my videos, boring videos get few views.

  • Scotty can you do a video on how to replace cv joints and cv joint half shafts because ppl make it so complicated

  • hi scotty yesterday i took my car to inspection station to get the inspection sticker but the guy say the computer doesnt recognize the catalytic converter, he asked me if the catalytic is new but the catalytic is the old one ...... and this car i use everyday but i dont know what wrong is with it............... thanks

  • @jhep1985 there is no such thing as "doesn't recognize the cat", there can be an inefficient cat code and others, find what the real code number is.

  • @jhep1985 I am a certified vehicle inspector here in Texas, what year model is your vehicle?

  • New muffler are not cheap but sometime if you lucky you find good ones at the junkyard..

  • @red666A sure, nothing wrong with that.

  • cant get these bolts off.....any other suggestions? how many hours of wd40?

  • @poop4256 overnight is fine, but some are just shot, and you have to hacksaw em off, or torch em off.

  • @poop4256 I personally never even try open exhaust side bolts and nuts. i go straight to angle grinder and tools like that. cut them off, replace. Even you can take old ones off without cutting, heating makes metal to go harder and in future they break mroe easily. That's why, example, you NEVER heat anything that's conntected to the steering parts!

  • Your work is quite quick such as wind ! Professional !

  • 0:40 sounds like a ferrari horn

  • @elkillerx yea, cause it's an air horn too.

  • Thanks for another quality video!

  • My grandad has an 89 monte carlo he had to put mufflers on it 4 times on his 89 ford he only put a muffler o. It once and his 95 licoln never needed a muffler. Ford uses better materials

  • i wish actual car work went as smooth as it does in your videos lol,....you need good patience to be a mechanic

  • @1991tommygun true

  • lol at the car alarm going off when he jacked it up

  • i see you have taken my advice, using the jack stands. good vid there scotty. oh dont go in the back of the hearse, bad luck, mocking is scetching, as the old timers used to say in ireland.

  • @Liamautomechanic ah, don't be an old superstition monger. If that were true, I'd be dead ten times over.

  • @scottykilmer what about the old, bann shee, she left ireland, in the coffin ship, 1847 she followed the irish over to canada and america.watch out scotty, lol

  • Scotty you a beast.

  • what year is that bmw?

  • @charger334 83

  • Do yow have a Bmw now?

  • @SacreDro na, those are all customer's cars.

  • I could see that this muffler job made you "DEAD" and "EXHAUSTED."

  • @scottykilmer would you use same procedure to put on some flow masters ? I'm really thinking about doing it myself you made it look simple .

  • can you do an exhaust manifold vid?

  • LOL when you pulled that muffler up i was like HOLY SHIT!!!!!

  • Scotty, are there any benefits of changing from a stock Muffler to a aftermarket Muffler?

  • @infinitypark003 more power. more noise, if you want to go that way.

  • I forgot about WD-40 years ago once i found PB Blaster..WD40 is like piss-water compared to blaster..

  • @GOPSpinMachineInOD OK, I actually use both, but most people don't know what pb blaster is, so I say WD 40

  • @GOPSpinMachineInOD wd is hard to beat,

  • another thing you can use to remove old bolts is "bolt off" i dont know if you can get it in the US but one quick spray and 1min and it'll come strate off i used it to take an hole turbo and exhaust off a 17 year old toyota supra in about 2 to 3 hrs best stuff ever

  • Thanx u are the best

  • You should encourage the use of jackstands for safety Scotty

  • @ipodtouchfan221 Hey, see em in the video, there they are, on the side of the car before jacking up, under the car after jacking up.

  • @scottykilmer You people find fault like there's a reward for it.

  • @scottykilmer Yep your right, sorry i missed that

  • WD-40? LOL! That's useless on loosening bolts, especially rusty exhaust bolts!! PB Blaster is THE rust buster hands down, may have to sit and soak a bit, but it works - that stuff has helped busted loose nightmarish rusty bolts for me.

I had a bad muffler in my truck once, strapped a new one on my fat girl friend and noise was gone!

  • Scotty can you have the owner of that hearse come get my mother-in-law?

  • @moofushu LMFAO.. Me too!

  • hey scotty my friends drives a 1992 honda accord and every time he starts to drive/hit the gas pedal he gets high RPMs. Is that a sign that the engine is getting bad or what?

  • Comment removed

  • @BanditV8racer Slipping clutch?

  • @BanditV8racer no, normally a slipping clutch, OR bad transmission if an automatic

  • Scotty, I take it you got out of the Hearse?

  • It feel out LOL .. wtf XD

  • I love those older rides.

  • i noticed the devil in this video.....nobody did?

  • @MrBuzzialdrin yea, the guy hung a halloween orrnament in the back.

  • Wow you ended this segment with you in a hertz....interesting

  • @BatBobOmb Haha...Maybe he was almost scare to death with the horn when he jack up the car!

  • @malcolmmcbchen I didnt even notice it till you said it HA! HA! HA! HA! Scotty you ok after the horn blasted like that?
