@SouthDFWrep The company is Spanish, not Chinese. Its not part of the "NASCO"(I think you mean NAFTA) corridor. This is a crosstown route as I'm sure you are aware of. Part of the road is perfectly free to drive.

@rantanamo I did not mean NAFTA... I meant NASCO. NAFTA is the North American Free Trade Agreement. NASCO is the North American Super Corridor Coalition Yes, Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte, S.A., is a private Spanish company, but they are not the only ones building tollroads in Texas. Adding tolled lanes to a FREE road does not reduce traffic or congestion. They capture revenue... nothing more.

Any attempt to claim this is about mobility is false. if this was about mobility and n.ot about profit, bondswould have been sold by the state of texas, with payoffs within 20 years. Instead, bondswere sold by private companies that have secured 50+ year contracts to run public roads for profit. The great state of Texas has signed away all rights to control any toll hikes.

I-635 will be tolled?! Augh! All I want to do is drive from Colorado to Louisiana.  Texas is pretty country, and I enjoy driving through EXCEPT for Dallas.

Still not enough lanes for the amount of traffic that travels this route 24/7 and many will find alternative ways to get to where they want to go because they will refuse to pay the toll to sit in traffic for hours they can now do for free.

What many people do not realize is this is not about mobility... it is about profit. All of the money that will come from the conversion of this public road to a private tolled-road will go to a private, "for-profit" company... all thanks to Rick Perry and his foreign lobbyist. The citizens of Texas are being raped in the name of mobility by Captian Goodhair Perry!! It's disgusting!

@SouthDFWrep - This is not ab out politics, it is about not having money to rebuild the needed infrastructure to keep the Texas economy at the top. That means moving goods and services throughout Texas without gridlock.

@SouthDFWrep - it is about mobility and getting the investment that the direct equity partners and the bond holders have invested into this project to build it 25 - 30 years before the funds would have been available through traditional road funding methods. The managed lanes serve both purposes effectively to maintain the movement of motorists, goods and services.
