Like when in Halo 2 you went to earth cause of the covenant were invading you went to Mombasa and fought them till they left and mastercheif followed them and a group of ODST wer ebeing sent down to Mombasa and then yeah it's like a interlude between Halo 2 and Halo 3. If you play Halo Reach then Halo 1 or the remake then Halo 2, Then Halo ODST then Halo 3 then the story becomes alot clearer on how they all link.

@TheGingaNinja34 *spoiler alert*-Actually Master Chief left Reach at the end of Halo Reach. The helmet you're talking about belonged to one of the Noble team member, in which the gameplay is you. After Chief had left Reach that's where Halo 1 comes in. At the the end of Halo 3, as seen at the video, he reaches a Shield World made by the forerunners. It's pretty clear that he arrived at the shield world from the new Halo 4 promotional video. I think it also shows in Halo Legends in Origins 1/2.

@MaximumRocker30 Arbiter is probably is going to come back and find chief. Arbiter was piloting the front of the ship and I suppose Chief was in the back which broke off. He then arrives in onyx, the planet of the fore runners. The covenant are going to be back and will fight for the weapons of the fore runners. But there may be new creatures on onyx which are the forerunners.

Master Cheif's real name is John-117. If you watched the Halo anime movie that's available on Netflix, it explains that a scientist cloned children who were disabled physically or who were going to die from a disease, released the clones back to the parents, and kept the real kid. They took their last names and replaced them with a numerical id number. Such as Lucas-249. The children were then cured and given surgery for an incredible boost of mental capabilty and strength. These are Spartans

However, [obviously] the planet itself is still there; and just because the covenant destroyed the surface of it doesn't rule out 900xmx's possibility of the frigate landing there. Besides, the way the planet looks from orbit and the aura around it does kind of resemble Reach.

I just noticed something really cool and might have something to Halo 4! when chief is talking to cortana near the end of the video, he says "wake me when you need me" to Cortana. After he says this they cut to Cortana and if you look in the background you can see an object moving in the background! im not to sure what it is but its at 6:48!!!! :3

that video makes the ship look like a planet. which makes out chief really died, because think about it if they left the feeling of a sequel in halo 3 why on earth have they left us hanging for halo 4. obviously when that ending was made it was intended as chiefs death.

seen a few posts asking about the ship and what happened.
Cortana told the Chief that when the ring blew it damaged the Ark and the portal collapsed.
The ship was split in two.
The front half of the ship made it through. . .the rear half did not. . .
Arbiter was in the front of the ship. . .Chief was in the rear.

@Spartan117iam Er... the rear half DID make it through because Mendicant Bias redirected John before the portal collapsed. The Halo still fired, you know? John would be dead if he didn't make it through the portal.

Cortana saying " well some of us did. . ." when the Chief asked her what happened. . . was a bit confusing to me. It appeared to me that only the front half made it all the way that's why the arbiter made it and the Chief was stranded. . .

did some checking on this redirection you said that Mendicant Bias gave the Chief.
In the game it seemed luck alone got the rear of the ship out of the portal collapse but not 2 Earth.
Is this in a book storey line or the game?
If it is in the game. .where? when someone tells me something I research to update my own knowledge. .so be nice. Direct me 2 the source so I can see 4 myself.
