  • dammit...we need a park closer to houma.

  • I ride bmx and I basically live at the park at Perkins . Are bmx bikes allowed at Hammond park ? I might come ride it next Saturday

  • @TrickEYEZ

Cheers man... sorry, but bikes aren't allowed on the concrete at the park here. Feel free to skate if you do that as well though!

  • Did anyone notice the song Kick Push by Lupe Fiasco and Drake was Playing.?

  • Got to go today! It's cool but it was cold and I was the only one there

  • @Marquize7 u know why u where the only one there becuase the new baton rouge skatepark kills that skatepark

  • @EcDoubleJJ No, this skatepark has a really good flow. you can cruise and do tricks around the whole park without even having to push once. At the br park, theres no flow, and you cant even skate without some bmxer or little kid on a scooter getting in the way. :/

  • Is this skatepark in Indiana right?

  • @JohnKozuch

Sorry man, this is in Hammond, Louisiana.

  • was there yesterday im from chalmette so it a good drive but its def. worth it ill be back soon one of the best parks ive ever been to

  • Its good to see parents supporting their children learning how to skateboard. Good ol' folks. And i think its just me but when you first talk in this video you sound a little like Chad Muska.

  • @TehCreeper45 Hahaha, that's excellent! I'll be "The Nealka." haha

  • @grimcity Speaking of Muska have you seen his part in How to go pro? if you have what did you think of it?

  • I might be going back in 2 days cant wait :)

  • @bowie506 Sick! Come on over and have a good skate sesh, bowie!

  • @grimcity Yes sir , plan too . But this Rainy Louisiana weather is killing me.

  • @bowie506 I hear that!!!

  • i skated there before and im planning on going back

  • @caleb1480 Sick! Give me a shout when you visit!

  • nice system for donating the boards. Hope the folks make them work for it.

  • covington courthouse is a good spot they have in clied ledges stone benches and like a 7 stair with rail and no stopers

  • that park is so much fun! I get to go there! its awesome!

  • We're very lucky to have it! I'm looking forward to BR's new park as well... Louisiana is coming up!

    Cheers!

  • We are XD But unforunatly I will have to wait a bit...I broke my arm at the dreamland skate park but when I recover I will be happy to skate again! [=

  • Last time I went there, there were a bunch of jock assholes skating. Some small guy got pushed down hard by some prick with muscles.

I preferred the Chickencoop. Is that still around? I haven't skated in a few years.

  • That doesn't sound like any of the locals... weird.

But yeah, the Coop still exists, but it's not like it was at all... the entire warehouse is a huge combination bowl. Brian Anderson got some footy there and Childress got a pic in Thrasher, and Koston has one in the Thrasher Photo ish of '09 (you can see most of the bowl in his photo). It's really sick. Lots of sessions with live bands, too... there's space for a whole band behind the deathbox of the deep end ov the bowl. It's nuts!

  • Maybe it was that I just went on a bad day.

    Plus, this was in 05.

I always think about skating again, but as much as I love to watch it, I can't keep my motivation up for doing it... especially since I lost touch with my friend Matt Fascio a few years back.

  • Yeah, motivation is a really relative thing... for me, I interpret skating as a motivator (it gets me through the long days/something to look forward to), but I understand.

Having said that, I've known a number of skaters that quit but wound up regretting it later... again though, that's all relative to those people.

I would hope that you continue to skate, and better yet, I hope you find something in skating that makes it fun even w/o your friend (though I know friend-skating is the best)!

  • Every time I drive up to the Hammond park I feel like I'm surrounded by family. Baton Rouge is getting one, hurray!!! A builder there said be mid Feb it'll be ready!

  • I can't wait! I work in BR, so I'll get to hit it after work and just skate my park on weekends! Life is good!

  • fa sho

  • word man words of wisdom and i am gonna be takin a trip up there in a couple weeks keep up the good work ya dig yal made it happen for alot of people

  • Come hit us up homie! We've always got a good session going for sure... if you're having fun, then you're part of it! Peace!

  • nice! we have a dreamland park here in little rock, AR but i'm coming there to shred that place up seee u soon

  • C'mon over man, we'll be glad to have you! Roll forever!

  • this look like a nice park to skate at how deep is the bowl

  • The shallow is 5, the big wall is 9 1/2, and we have an over-vert capsule that's a little over 11.

  • wow i saw you there the guy in the red...thats weird

  • Why would that be weird, man? I live close to the park...

  • do they allow bikes

  • No bikes, man.

  • is this the Hammond in Indiana??

  • Oh no, we're down in Louisiana, between NOLA and Baton Rouge.

  • hey dude is this skatepark good cause i go to skatespot all the time and i love it i hear this is smaller than skatepot is it fun even though its small

  • You can't really compare Dreamland to Skate Spot... they're really different animals. Dreamland is smaller than SS by square footage, but keep in mind there aren't many flat surfaces... almost everything is banked, transitioned, euro'd or inclined one way or the other. Plus, Dreamland is concrete and outdoors, so a lot of factors come into play.

Having said that, Skate Spot is insanely fun, and I consider Jason the owner as one of my homies. He's always been genuinely nice to me.

  • i live in amite right by hammond in amte we jst got our first sk8shop!!!!come check it out we dont hav a park yet but in time we will get one!!so we hav a group of sk8ters and we sk84 life!!!!!!i go to dream land on weekends, im the red headed dude that shreds it lol......

  • Great Video I pass the park every day

  • louisiana ????

  • Yep. Hammond.

  • dude neil its me zach nata

  • is dreamland all goofy course

  • I'm not sure what you mean... regular and goofy footers skate it all the time, no complaints.

  • I live i slidell lve hammond

    wish i didnt quiet skating

  • Just unquit and get back on board, homie!

  • dude is hammond close to the bossier-shreveport area

  • Not really man... whereas Shreveport is north west, we're south east. We're in between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

  • oh crap that skate park looks really fun

  • I know this is an old post, but I ran across this comment thread again and figured I'd mention that my folks just moved to Shreveport... next time I hit Holy Rollers or the plaza on Stoner Blvd. I'll give you a shout! Peace!

  • @grimcity alright that would be pretty cool

  • holy shit, it's kerry... haven't seen that cat in a long time, not since the old hammond skatepark.

  • i thought it WAS a news broadcast at first

  • i luv this park, LA 4 life

  • see ya my stupid moms nagging at me again ill comment later

  • im a begginer at skateing but my board snapped and my mum wont let me get a board she says your gonna ride it until it breaks and come for another board of course i am bitch

  • you need to find a way to get a cheap used one. maybe ebay or something. cuz a lightly used board that is still in pretty good condition might only cost 20 or 30 bucks.

  • theres a website where you can get 3 good sized boards for 20 bucks

  • what website is that?

  • i advice getting mini logo decks. i dunno, i just think they're a good deal for beginners. and they cost less than pro decks but i think they have the same quality. i still use my old mini logo

  • thats really cool how you do that and you have a nice park there good job

  • Oh i know, katrina changed BR completely. Before, there used to be breeze threw traffic.... but now..... theres a wait for everything!

  • Every now and then ill go to hammond to skate but its a hike for me. I live in mid town baton rouge and i rly never have the ride to go there. but everytime i get the chance, its rewarding.

  • Funny thing, I commute to BR from Hammond to go to work... you're right about the hike! Before Katrina, it was a 45 minute commute MAX, but I've had days where it took me over 2 1/2 hours. On workdays, if you can take Florida/190, it's a million times faster to come out this way.

  • words of wisdom great for the kids to hear!

Keep it up man you and you friends have built a great scene out their!

  • respect your last few lines man, inspires me to work harder at it. thanks for that.

  • cause i love street

  • they need to have a good skatepark in BR like this but with street

  • I just ran across this post again... your wish is coming true! The new BR park is looking amazing! They should be officially open soon, though the builders seem to cool about people riding it.

  • wats the song called in the middle

  • I honestly don't know, man... the film makers didn't say.

  • The name of the song is "Here it Goes Again" by Ok Go...Hi Neal, It's Brandi from the film...Thanks Soooooooo Much for putting our video up...Much Luv!!!!!

  • Yep yep!

  • I enjoyed that

  • looks like a awesome skatepark, we really need one in the town i live in. I think the giving away equiptment for helping there parents out is such an awesome idea!

  • Finnaly a new video. Yea i hate getting yelled at and getting tickets for skting on the streets and by buildings. But it is good they put a skatepark there in hammond i might come by there and skate it sometime. 5/5
