The only thing that is "Good" about A-10s is the fact that they have some serious ground attack capabilites and they can take one metric fuck ton of punishment before coming back to base. However they do have alot of friendly fire incidents which doesn't make them the best canditates for Iraq/Afganistan
Now a days there is planes like F 15 -16 - 18, F35 and all them that's shooting on former tanks, My thought was; what will be test shooting on the M4A1 Abraham's in like alot of years from now? :P Fun thought.
I have mixed feelings about the A 10. My cousin was in afghanistan until late last year with the British army, and he said he loved seeing an A 10 drop "a shitload of pain on some talitubby bastards", but the A 10s record with "friendly fire" incidents is not something to offer someone on the ground much comfort. I lost an uncle in Iraq (1990-91) to an A 10 when it destroyed his IFV.

yes, a-10 is a beautiful bomber/attacker, but it cant do anything against SAMs. anyway, i love its gatling gun!
