  • This model, in its defense, does seem to address a certain problem, that of the fact that there is a certain sense of alienation on the workers' part in the worker/owner relationship. Philosophically, it's different than socialism, but it sounds very similar to the productionist Soviet model structurally. In our society, however, there is also rampant greed and rising expectations out of what life can offer. It seems to place too much power in the peoples' hands, rendering it impracticable.

  • This is absolutey crazy. That Ford Co. under Distributism be "worker owned".

If Catholic Doctrine is based on the Natural Law, the Natural Law dictates Righteousness, that of specialization. The worker can not be the owner. One ownes and the other works. To create an automobile cheaply and efficiently is exactly what Henry Ford did when he created his system. It can't be done otherwise.

I'd like to see Distributism make an automobile that is commensurate with a Owner Factory automobile.

  • @Clinias Many businesses are worker owned. Its not rare. And yes, they can deliver goods cheaply and effeciently.

"The worker can not be the owner. One ownes[sic] and the other works"

Millions of small business owners and family farmers would be stunned to hear of this division between "owner" and "work". They work very, very hard. There is no inherent divide between worker an owner. It doesnt exist.

  • I have been waiting for this video, thanks, R.
