@Mattaanaha The X Shot will hold the Nex-5 but I don't recommend it as the Nex-5 is getting a bit large for that particular mono pod. I use a larger mono pod for my Nex-5... the SLIK Lighty Pod 200

@Mattaanaha The SLIK Lighty Pod 200 is definitely light enough to film yourself using the Sony Nex 3, 5, 5n, Sony Nex 7 or similar camera. You learn to use the monopod as a kind of brace against your hip once you get the hang of it. Also handy for doing self portraits of yourself with the self timer.
