  • which university is your friend attending? NYU?

  • You say uuhhh to much >< Sorry, not trying to be mean or anything.. :(

  • @KawaiiTopHat3 I know I do :( I try to cut it out in most of my vids by editing, but this one I left a lot of them in T^T

  • @KawaiiTopHat3 koreans tend to say "uuhh" or "uuum" a lot

  • @koolkoreanchick No, he's a film maker/animator :)

  • ur soo freakin pretty !

  • Even cuter with the glasses.... what the heck? Too cute!!

  • New York is the shit. You should come over more often. ;)

  • Alright, I <3 your vlogs but can I ask you honest opinion on Kim-Jong Il?

  • Okay I get some crap from my Korean friend about her HATING Japanese and Japan stuff period... Could you like explain to me why, other than that what happened a couple years agooo... PLEASE!!!

  • @Gab101Grover Japanese people occupied Korea for many years, and attempted to assimilate us/destroy our culture very aggressively during the occupation. They forced us to change our native names to Japanese names, forced men to work in labour camps, etc. There has been a lot of conflict between the two countries, and Japan has yet to apologize for, or even acknowledge, the cruelty that they put the Korean people under. It's the same thing as how Jewish people feel about the holocaust.

  • @Gab101Grover They took many many Korean women, raped them, and refused to apologize many years later. They took many skilled Koreans. For example they kidnapped whole families who had specific skills in pottery, skills that were passed on from their ancestors for generations. They even took Korean livestock (it had only existed in Korean) and till this day some of their fine meat is considered "traditionally" theirs.

  • @Gab101Grover men were taken to become soldiers, and young girls were taken to sexually satisfy their Japanese soldiers before battles. Even till this day some ladies were are now old grandmas protest in front of the Japanese embassy in Korea demanding that they apologize for the cruelty they had endure their whole life. They are cruel people who even burnt the wife of the last Korean King alive. Keep in mind though, Korea was not the only country abused. There were philippines, chinese, etc.

  • @prototionist I think it's wrong to generalize by saying all Japanese are cruel like that. The Japanese gov't practices a lot of censorship, so even most of the Japanese people today are not aware of what the gov't did to other colonies during their occupation. If they were aware, I'm sure many of them would be horrified.

  • @shaelikestaquitos thats absolute bullshit that you think that. Japan is not a closed off communist country where they have no access to communication. Anyone who's not an ignorant citizen will know of they're nation's occupations in other countries. that's common knowledge for japanese and non-japanese alike.

  • @PiggyHyungJigae You do know that bands like Dir En Grey are currently campaigning to get the gov't to tell the truth about the nuclear waste problem in Japan right? The Japanese gov't is very secretive. Japanese people are aware of the colonialist occupation, but many don't get educated like Koreans do (where we learn about the violence/plight that Koreans went through) about the occupation. They are not told that they stole, destroyed, etc. they are told a different version.

  • @shaelikestaquitos I do understand the level of censorship, yes. But to the extent at which you stated just sounds ludicrous. There has been a lot of censorship in the past of Japanese government approved textbooks and programs, but for the most part and as a of recent, these things have been shunned. The majority of informed Japanese citizens know rightly well the true origin of their past and the motives of their peoples during Imperial Age Japan.

  • @PiggyHyungJigae There's evidence from various textbooks telling very different stories about the Japanese occupation in Korea if you look at history books for students from Korea and Japan. HUGE discrepancies. Most people don't know what exactly happened. To this day the Japanese gov't has not said anything about many secret experimental facilities they had, etc where they used Korean people as test subjects. It's not common knowledge of what exactly happened.

  • @shaelikestaquitos every country has censorship. In America, its not common knowledge that The USA stole Hawaii, illegitimized they're entire monarchy and justified the cultural destruction of native Americans and Hawaiians. It's a shame. There are many discrepancies in American text books. You are right in the fact that these types of things are not common knowledge; I totally agree. But to say that the information is not available to them would be untrue. That's why I said 'informed.'

  • @PiggyHyungJigae I'm pretty sure I didn't say that Japanese people didn't have access to the information altogether, but why would they bother looking up more information on it other than what they were taught since they were younger? And you're getting very sidetracked here lol I said that it was wrong to generalize about all Japanese people being cruel, as the other user suggested in the comment. If you're told conflicting information, you're going to be reserved about your opinion.

  • @PiggyHyungJigae If it's not common knowledge (the truth about what happened), then why would you even think that the majority of the Japanese, like how many Americans aren't aware (because of what they are taught from the textbooks), wouldn't know what exactly happened?

  • @PiggyHyungJigae * would know.

Besides that, you are coming off as awfully opinionated for a very small comment I said about not jumping to conclusions on an entire race of people and how they feel about a subject like this. I don't think you would deny that not all Japanese people would support the gov't's decision in remaining silent about this matter no? It's very dangerous to generalize like how the other user commented.

  • @PiggyHyungJigae And believe it or not, the Japanese gov't DOES practice a lot of censorship. Definitely not all info. is available to those who seek it. I'm going to reiterate the example of the band, Dir En Grey, with their campaign "Scream for Japan" which is protesting against the gov't withholding almost all information regarding how bad the effects of the nuclear pollution is atm.

  • @shaelikestaquitos I was saying readily available like through the internet. Anything run by the government is probably not going to be as credible as it needs to be. But yes, I believe you when you say the Japanese government practices a lot of censorship. They've been keeping most of the information about the Fukushima Daiichi power plant's true status and progress from the public. It's a sad sad truth.

  • @PiggyHyungJigae So then there is nothing we are disagreeing on, so no reason for you to call what I wrote "ludicrous" :) It is a shame, but I suppose also a necessity that governments are so secretive, even to their own people...

  • @shaelikestaquitos Some for our own good as citizens. Most...is for lying to the people! good conversation. ;) heheh

  • @PiggyHyungJigae Who says lying isn't for our own good? Either way, we shall never know lol

  • @shaelikestaquitos I was not saying ALL the Japanese people are cruel. I was giving the facts. Every single Japanese person did not do it, but it did happen.
