I perform at a theater and got my headshot done and didn't pay anything, because I had my sister who is a Photography major in College do it. She did my photo for free. You really think spending over $100 is going to get anything? Seriously, that is over spending. Living in New York is irrelevant to this situation. Just because they have major theaters doesn't make you an actor. I can smell your lies from a mile away like a shark to blood. Fake. Don't listen to this woman.

I had professional head shots done by my brother for 80 bucks with canon 5D that has better quality than most professionals. And the 80 bucks was for a night out haha! XD You don't have to just be a good actor...you also have to be smart.

Chick if you really are an acting coach, why are you giving FREE "classes" on youtube? Also, honestly, the only photos I plan on ever paying 1000 dollars for are my wedding photos. And finally no one gives a shit that you live in New York, I could live in New York too if I wanted, it doesn't make me a great actor, it just makes me a guy living in New York. Who have you worked with? Who was your teacher, what shows on what stages have you done? Why should I trust your acting opinion?

Everyone should start small. I mean. If you are JUST starting out thenyou shouldn't have to spring right into headshots and things. That's my plan. If I NEED them then I will use my VERY creative eye to take them myself. I'm only 14 and my dad doesnt want to spend that much on pics.

NOBODY wants that... not in commercials... not in theatrical. And to tell people to look up headshots of James Dean, Elvis, Brando.... HA HA HA... are you F-ING kidding me?! That's a joke, right? @sethhendrix Good Point seth, maybe the difference is whether the actor is going for comedy or drama or a combo. Feel free to check out shots for more relevant stars like Robert Pattinson, Angelina Jolie, Leonardo Dicaprio, etc. still pretty serious or blank looks, times haven't changed..... But then again, if you're going for comedy, be crazy, smile, laugh it up....I love comedy so thanks for your input. Cheers bro, chris

I don't want to sound harsh or like a know it all...I'm only 16 (turning 17 on the 15th) and my headshot is professional and better looking then yours and people agree...and I took it on my iMac OS X Leopard, edited on Picnik and I'm getting calls and e-mails...k i know im young and i probably should not be giving advice...but people...don't be spending 1000 dollars on one photo when you can have your dad take one of you and you can edit it as a family on Photoshop.

I live in a small town where acting is not even a big thing. I am looking to become famous. But I think this video in perticular is meant for people who have the money, and who have mande money from acting experiences, who have agents, and all those other things. Target the ones who live in small towns or big ones, but who either can't afford a headshot or have no use for such an expensive one until they believe they are good enough.

DO NOT PAY THAT MUCH 4 A HEADSHOT IF U R JUST STARTING...why?? Becuz a headshot isn't good until casting crews say it is..as budding actors/actresses you will have a headshot that will be a flop(and god only knows why) and headshots don't come with a "booking" warranty haha. When this happens you need to be able to suppy a new and hopefully improved headshot. Good headshots can run around 3-6 hundred bucks.

Standard headshots are 8x10. That looks a lot larger than 8x10. I also disagree with the price standard for headshot in relation to quality. You can get some amazing headshots for a lot cheaper than a grand. The amount you pay has nothing to do with how nice the headshot will be. If the photographer has a high quality camera and knows how to direct you well then you should be good.

This chick is NUTS. I produce commercials in LA and I can tell you the last thing I would ever be looking for is a "blank canvas". Nobody wants an actor/actress to be blank. You want them to look full of life, energy, and deep in soul. That headshot she has is terrible and boring... and it looks nothing like her. AND $1000?! Are you f-ing kidding me? In LA, you'll pay 300 to 600 MAX for really great photos. Please no one listen to this kook. She's clueless.

Theatrical (film/tv) shots can be serious or straight-forward. But the MOST important thing is that someone looks at your eyes and sees tons of stuff working in there. If you look lifeless, boring, or "blank canvas" as she refers to it... that's just going get your headshot thrown into the trash. Make a STRONG impression. It may be the only one you get.

$1000 ? That's UTTERLY ridiculous! I paid $300 and mine came out great! And my photo looks more lively than hers. But there are photographers out there that will TRY and get over on people like "TwilightMovieStudios" who is willing to do everything to be an actor. All you have to do is, look at the photographers portfolio, and check out the lighting and the quality of their work. Sometimes, you are just paying for the "name" of the photographer which you don't need for a quality photo.
