The Jag version is a great game, this version is just eye candy. By the time Mr. Minter made this version, I think the magic dragon and he were a little buzzed.

I am a purist. I can't stand any of these "modernized" versions of the arcade classic, Tempest. It took a couple months but eventually I found every component I needed and I built a full arcade version of the original.

well the thing about the "modernized versions" is that they're almost totally separate games on their own.. T2k and T3k are amazing in their own right; but they're more of an homage and evolution of their lineage from the old original game.

Also, major props for building your own home machine ;) How build a Jaguar with T2k in a jamma cabinet and do the rotary controller mod and you'll be all set :P

I believe the platform this is playing on is known as Nuon. I read about it on Cnet a few years ago, I understand the Nuon platform game run on a number of DVD players, but I could be wrong and off the mark. I don't know too much about this platform, but I'm sure you could find more about it on the Internet.
