All in all, I would say this is a fine performance of a Django classic. Duane Andrews apparently does not bother with slavish obedience to the original style, replete with flights of astonishing technical showboating like some of his contemporaries. Instead, he seems to assimilate the gypsy jazz feel into his own personal style.
@akludagable Duane here. Thanks for the feedback and I'd have to agree that this was not one of my strongest performances though there was a lovely vibe at the Canadian Guitar Festival. I think you could get a much better sense of what I do if you check out a clip called "'Raindrops' - the movie". It seems youtube doesn't like links posted in comments so you might have to go up to the search bar and type in the name. Hope you can find something more enjoyable in there.
For the english speakers- simswing56's comment translates as, "when we don't know how to play Django, we don't play it". I would have to agree with that as well. This isn't well played, nor is it true to the idiom.
Great stuff! (fyi, Duane sponsors a gypsy jazz radio station on Live 365 that I listen to a lot: HotClubRadio. I don't have a vested interest; I'm just a fan.)
Wow! Another A+ performance.
Anyone know who's that highly skilled player on bass? I mean what's his story on the jazz scene?

I agree with the french guys- the soloing/phrasing isn't very interesting.
