Unfortunately the facts of this case are wrong. The boy in question never cut the priest severely, for one. We know this because the priest who performed the exorcism never missed his basketball coaching duties. In addition, the assistant exorcist does not have any recollection of supernatural events.
I'm ashamed of this priest in a way. The Jesuit are known for scholarship, science and logic. Not for superstition.

I used to live near Mt. If you read the right history books, you'll find that a lot of people who were considered to be "possessed" were actually poisoned with toxic componds such as arsenic, or worst yet, ergot, a disease that was common in grains and flour prior to agricultural chemicals.
As for Rolland, i would suspect he may have been poisoned. I played with a Ouiji board for years, I don't think I'm possesed. A plastic toy from Sears does not contain "devils."

Any particular book? J. Shepherd is a very common name. But what you fail to mention is that they were allowed back into many of the nations which cast them out. Some of these nations threw them out because they had recently became protestant or were communist and viewed Catholic priests as a threat. Others were indiginous rulers which were not fond of their subjects becoming Christian. How many countries still disallow the Jesuits? In many cases it was purely a hatred for all things Catholic.

Why would they create two forms of government which contradtict each other (communism & facism) but both manage to agree to the persecution of the church. There is no logic to it. Yes they remained active in countries after they were thrown out, if the counrty had a real reason to not want these men back in they would still be barred entry to those nations and persecuted today in those nations.

The troubles in Ireland began in 1155AD when the "church" of Rome usurped the Celtic Church and sold Ireland to the English RC King Henry II (To Rome, basically) then again during the massacre of 1641 when Jesuit priests told Catholics to liquidate all Protestants.

Whole towns massacred - women and children in Wexford, murdered as they knelt in prayer. The Irish Catholics were defending their land, their homes and their lives. In Matthew 4:8-11 Satan offers Jesus the kingdoms of the world...if he will bow down and worship him. Satan represents himself as being, essentially, 'the god of this world'. Perhaps this term is not widely used, so I'm sorry for the confusion. The character and teachings of Christ are quite different than many representations of God.
