I have always liked this scent and have been wearing it for years. Maybe you are right about age, I am 57 yrs 'young' now and love the spicy smell. However I am going to try some new scents just receiving Issey Mayake for men a few days ago. Liked it but initial feeling was it smelled too much like its female version. However after wearing it It grew on me and I have gotten plenty of compliments. Thanks for a funny review. Guess it wasn't for you! How is the new CK scent Eurphoria?

Yeah... I have to comment one more time. I agree this is a fragrance that really is more what I would call a "smell" for your house or certain room. It can sometimes smell good, but I think for almost anybody under 70... maybe even 75 it is not what you want to smell like. I thought about giving mine to my dad, but won't even though he's in his 60's.... I don't want my dad to have that "old man" smell lol...

I bought a .5 ounce bottle of this for about 10 bucks. I MIGHT use it sometimes when it is really cold (because it is so spicy). I think it might actually be good to use as a potpourri type scent in a bathroom---- no joke. It is the kind of smell that people might like---- BUT NOT IN ASSOCIATION WITH PEOPLE THEMSELVES-- aka not on people.

Seriously: I'd rather wear something spicy, strong and distinctive than another generic, fresh, "sporty", aquatic, citrusy scent marketed to guys in my age range (mid-'20s). Obsession smells a bit dated at first, but it grows on you, especially if you have the right skin chemistry for it. I wear it and get complimented often (once from a 17-year old female coworker...yup, Obsession didn't scare her!).

I'm 21 and I'm wearing this one in cold rainy days along with Terre d'Hermes and I've been enjoying it so much. I am particularly addicted to the confusion between spice and sweet throughout the dry-down. It's a sophisticating classic and it's truly obsessing. And it's masculine to me, very masculine indeed. So I don't agree with your review this time. Well it happens, sometimes people hate what you like or vice versa. Please be a bit flexible as I see a lot of interpersonal bias in this review.

The wrong here isn't 'spicy'; the wrong is Calvin Klein. Dude can't do perfumes. All of them are synthetic, industrial monstrosities. As for spice - I'd be interested to see what you make of Noir Epices (Roudnitska for Malle, 2000). An airy, transparent spice scent, without old-school density, grandpa's pipe tobacco and diaper poo, or suffocating florals.

I've never tested out Obsession since I've heard some nasty things about it in the past. I'm going to have to test it out though; I want to see if your hatred is justified. Have you tested Obsession Night? Don't let the name fool you because it's NOTHING like the original. It's much lighter, younger, fruiter, semi-aquatic fragrance. It's not bad at all. You should aim at giving it a sniff sometime.
