Damn Golem is a beast! No idea of the actors name, but to be able to play that part and then just seamlessly switch into what appears to be Jackson's second hand man as a director and all that...crazy.
I can't believe that there are still places on this earth that we have not invaded with housing developments. You see, if we stop chopping down our trees, epic movies like LOTR become possibilities.
@BDSaints7 thanks, but if you get the chance to do that, take your time. there is a lot more to see in this wonderful country than just the LotR locations.
@rkleppe It's actually "The Uruk-Hai" from the soundtrack from "The Two Towers". It can also be found as "The Three Hunters" on the complete recordings of the soundtrack. ;)
According to IMDB, Legolas, Frodo, Galadriel and Saruman will appear in The Hobbit. I guess the Hobbit which I read in my childhood must have been a fake, since none of those characters are even mentioned in it. Not sure if I want to watch this :(
@entropede Legolas and Saruman were in the book. even though their parts were only so breifly mentioned. Have faith in Jackson, he knows what he's doing. :)
@DictatoroftheCake I am 100% sure that Legolas and Saruman are not in the Hobbit. The only elves that are directly named in the book are Elrond, the Elvenking, and some of the Elvenking's servants (which were all wood elves, not high elves). As for Saruman, the only other wizard that appears in the book other than Gandalf is Radagast, and he is barely briefly mentioned. Okay okay, I am a huge geek I admit :) But you are right, I will just have to have faith in Jackson!
Yes true, but Jackson is using the other books as well to sort of connect The Hobbit to LOTR. I don't think he will alter the plot all that much, but there will just be moments expanded upon that the initial book didn't tell us. We know Bloom was cast as Legolas in the Hobbit, Jackson even revealed that one. He may just have a cameo in Rivendell or something. Who knows.
@Fuzzyfoot88 And he's going to go into detail about Gandalf and the other wizards fighting the Necromancer (Sauron), which was only mentioned at the end of the book. He's not altering the story at all, just fleshing out a lot of it. I for one am happy about it.
I'm so Excited now to see that IAN McKELLEN is going to play GANDALF ! I have goose bumps. I can't wait now. I love that character and what McKELLEN brought to that character my gosh I'm looking so forward to this !
@rkleppe true that... if you ask me this whole thing started when they decided to make 2 parts of harry potter, then twilight did it, now hobbit's gonna do it
@Chigokai1080 You do know that the technology they used to make Avatar was invented by the people at Weta digital here in Wellington? So it makes sense that they'd use it in The Hobbit as well...
im looking foward for this movie so much because the technology is so much better since the last lotr movie, and the background and design was fabolous in lotr! i think it will blow minds how good it will be
This is such an awesome documentary. Peter Jackson seems like he brings an amazing chemistry to his sets and it seems like everyone is happy working with him. I would love working for you Peter!!! We all probably would. We have faith in you to bring us hours of cinematic beauty like the last three films! Keep it up guys!
I'm terribly sorry that you won't get a vacation like the rest of the cast and crew but just know that we appreciate all your hard work and DO NOT take one bit of it for granted. We will love and support you and your films til the end of time.

@DarMar106 I had no idea myself until I watched this video. But then I thought it was a great idea because who better to trust? After all, Andy helped out so much on Rings with camera angles and whatnot. He would surely be a good unit director for Peter on these movies.
This alone evokes more emotion and a sense of wonder than many actual movies. Peter and all the people involved seem so passionate about these films! It's contagious to see them!
@Smithfilmproductions I have the extended versions of LotR. The ones in boxes with 4 DVDs and I have never seen the extras. Now I understand how stupid of me this is.
I'm looking forward to the book on how this production alone got off the ground! It's quite a miracle, given MGM's bankruptcy, deciding where to shoot, deciding the director, and Jackson's surgery among other hindrances.
