@MARKKY2727 i have had it and use to love it, but i can't get it in the usa anymore, and i had it before i started doing reviews so i fear i may never get that chance...i also miss the winter warmer...
I finally got to try the bottle version and I definitely liked it a lot more than the can. I didn't get much of a toasted almond flavor - perhaps a little.
To me, this tastes like a porter that happens to have a chocolate taste - it doesn't taste like a straight-up chocolate beer (which I suppose is the point).
I think this is just a plain good beer. I'd give it a B+ tops. It doesn't wow me the way some other beers have. I
I knew you liked this beer and it is neat that it comes in 12oz bottles though I haven't seen those in my beer store yet. I liked the can a little more than the bottle, mostly because of the xtra creaminess. Both are great beers and totally drinkable and delicious. Nice review.
theres no doubt i like it in the can, and sometimes prefer the can over the bottle, but i find the bottle just a hair better. interesting how we split hairs, but both love it never the less.
I believe Young's is now in the 12 ounce since I believe the original Young's Brewery closed a couple years back but a few of their beers were picked up by the Wells Brewery. Probably a marketing thing.
Ah, I thought your first review was this beer from the 16oz bottle, I forgot you did the canned version.
This is the beer, out of all the 215 beers I've reviewed, that I really want to go back and re-review. But I want to do a side-by-side comparision of the bottle versus the can. You should come over and help me out with that. Let me know when you're available.
It sounds like this is Souther Tier Choklat without the heavy booze quality?
Hey, another cool review from your side! I've only had this beer in the 500ml bottle and have yet to try it in the nitro-can (I kind of want to). The last time I had it, I definitely enjoyed it more than before, and, as you said, it's got a very nice velvet chocolatey feel to it.
