Movie is being shown this Saturday, Oct, 23, 2010 at 6:00 PM
My church is showing this movie and the Film Maker will be present to talk to us. We will also be serving food. All the money we raise will be going back to Beat the Drum Village. The cost is 25.00 per person.
We are located at 3110 Sports Ave, SE, Smyrna, Georgia 30080
If you live anywhere near this will be well worth the travel and is a great family night out.
This movie has won Best Feature, Best Cinematography, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Audience Awards, Special Judge Award, and many others. A knockout film -- MUST SEE.
I reviewed Beat the Drum when it first came out. It was rumored that it was going to be nominated for an Oscar and it has won top awards all over the world. This, by far, is one of the best movies that I have had the pleasure to watch. It is moving, inspiring, uplifting, and makes you want to go out and change the world. Cudos to producer and writer W. David McBrayer, director David Hickson, and South African actor Junior Singo who played the lead. This is one powerful movie.
I read that Beat the Drum won dozens of awards and now I know why. You've got to watch this movie. Some movies stick with you and change you life -- this movie did it for me. Rent it, buy the DVD, whatever it takes to see it. Check out the web site. Whoever the boy was who played Musa did such a great job. Everything about this movie is excellent.
I really love this movie, the two children just broke my heart. Does anyone know the name of the song in the end? I will try to pass it to as many people as possible too, especially back home (I'm from Tanzania)
thats just such an amazing video.. I ve watched it about 3 times and tried to show it as much people I could (just an idea: if u trael in South africa with one f this buses.. greyhound or what ever... they normall show this ugly strang hollywood killing movies... maybe someone can try to show this movie there o rgive it to someone who is in need... ) well. just keep it real and believe in what ever
ps. life is beutiful. (check this movie .. mhloaumb.. try it... :) jippi
This is one of the best movies I have ever seen or reviewed. Rarely does a movie move you, touch you like Beat the Drum. It is amazing and you should see it if you haven't. Especially now that it's on DVD. The music was done by the same guy who did Iron Man-- wonderful music and a touching story and a beautiful movie. A must see for anybody who loves movies.
Great news! Beat the Drum is now available on DVD from all the major outlets online! And soundtrack is on CD and on iTunes. Also, proceeds from the movie have started an orphanage in Kenya called the Beat the Drums Homes. Please tell your friends and support the movie -- help give the innocent a voice.
What a great movie! is so touching, so depressive and so human! the other day it just made me cry, but even so you can realize that good things can happen!

GREAT, GREAT MOVIE -- the acting and the writing is excellent. This movie should win an Academy Award instead of Slumdog Millionaire.

YOU ARE RIGHT -- Beat the Drum should have won an Academy Award for best foreign film
