wind turbine :- the self furling tail (up yur kilt shot)

@veebic I havent heard of anyone supplying just a furling kit, most wind kits are sold with the full wind turbine included what size of wind turbine would the self furling tail be for, I dont supply wind turbines anymore though I do sell the complete build book if you fancy having a bash your self check out ebay and look for wind turbine build plans and look for by the wind mill man, to see if this would be applicable to your plans.

I'm feeling kind of dense cause I can't figure out why the tail turns away fom the wind.I think I have it backwards.The furling action allows the turbine to turn awy from the wind.?

but now i got the concept of furling but i dont know how to do the calculation... i got some of the formula but i feel that the formula is a bit weird. so i dont really know how to calculate the weight of the tail and the length of the tail. Do you have any idea on it?

just make the tail and keep it light weight to see how she blows, as you can add weight to it if she bends to earlly," better to soon than too late is my theory",( thow the wife tends not to like that idea ) let me know how you are getting on with it

may i know how the wind turbine back to position after it furls?

the tails root pin or hinge is at an angle and as the tail furles to the side in strong winds it also has to ride up hill as the angle of the root pin you set it sits round and so once the wind drops gravity brings it back to the straight into the wind position abit like the door on you upright fridge if the fridge is leaning back the door will close if the fridge is leaning forwards the door will swing open hope this helps you out my friend

you know its your turn this year too come visit me in scotland a few times big man 23 spare rooms in my castle and one or 3 are yours when you need them so move it before the winter winds change to summer as we only get 40MPH winds in summer LOL TTFN
