My family goes all Italian for Christmas, and all we have is fish. I hate fish with an undying passion, so my mom has to make me chicken cutlets. Everyone gives me death stares and confused looks when they're eating their flounder and calamari and I'm eating my cutlets. By the way, that whole giant turkey, small family thing is just a mom thing. Can't explain it cuz I'm not a mom.
I'm not a massive fan of turkey tbh but my family decided we were having that for Christmas dinner and I made them very aware of the fact I prefer chicken. My mum just bought a small turkey. She knows that we'd get sick of it and end up just leaving it instead of having the leftovers for days. Though, if we're having chicken, she buys a pretty big chicken because if she leaves it sitting about unguarded in the kitchen, we all just eat away at it all the time.
haha, totally. Canada, we eat turkey at Christmas... and we have leftovers forever... but I do love turkey sandwiches... although, not after the 4th straight day of only eating them.
I'm from Hungary, the land of fish-eaters (not really only on christmas days. but seriously.) oh have I mentioned I HATE any kind of fish you don't find in the salt water?
I live in west texas... We dont really ever have turkey on christmas we do have a big meal and my dad makes like 30lbs of jerky out of white tail deer or something of that type of wild game ... Merry xmas
No to turkey twice a year. I already have that on Thanksgiving, and too much of it. :S I eat tamales on Christmas, but not this year as I'm with two of my friends in Florida. I almost feel like I have to go out and buy/make some tamales and champurrado just to feel at home, ahaha.
Australia and no because I'm a vegetarian but my dad used to do with ham what your mum does with turkey. I just had normal food but lol'd at him and my step mum because they only ate ham for about...a month. I swear he buys an entire damn pig.
I'm in the us and turkey is my thing. Rather, my family on both sides cookes a turkey and a ham. The ham is the king if christmas and should be the king of thanksgiving.
Toledo, Ohio (USA) here, and my family just brings finger foods for christmas eve, we have Shrimp cocktail, meatballs, bean dip, mini hot dogs and other things. christmas day we do turkey, but dont go over the top.
I'm from the US so we have turkey on Thanksgiving.... and yes, my mom has the same issue. She gets a turkey that could feed like, 30 people and only 5 of us eat it... Shes crazy sometimes..... This year she actually had to go out and buy a bigger pan for the turkey to fit in!
I don't have turkey on Christmas though (thank gosh!) We usually have ham! :)
it's the same in my house. i like the turkey on christmas day and i like the turkey sandwiches on boxing day, but it's the bad substitute meals that come after it. sometimes my mum puts out cold bits of turkey on a platter with ham and calls it a platter of cold meats. no. it's turkey and ham.
I'm pretty sure my mum would win in the fridge we have 3 Hugh hams serves 15-18people each!! A turkey weighing about 30lbs and has another turkey being delivered tomorrow weighing 70lbs. We have 11 people for dinner Christmas day!
@coollikeyodais i love all that food and the best part i you cant eat it the day after unless you want too die :) thats how i get out of living off turkey THANKS :) merry christmas to you too x
@JugginsJosh haha yeah it's completely screwed with your voice and we haven't seen eachother because you've been away frivolously getting a tan. When are homeward bound?
Ahh its great having ya back making videos! missed u ha
Omg my mam is the same but its a bit worse she has to buy the biggest turkey and the biggest HAM aswell! Every minute of every day after christmas all you here is "do you want a sandwhich?ham?turkey?" "no mam I have already had five!" "aww go on, its only gonna go off if we dont eat it!" oh btw im from ireland too ha
@Leenanne95 hehe thanks for commenting, haha dont tell my mother about the ham other wise we will have to eat on of them too. But i suppose it would be nice to have some diversity. my mother always makes me eat chocolate until i OD too x
Haha We have Turkey and Ham, but its ok we have 2 big ovens so we can still like cook everything we need. But the Turkey usually takes up an entire oven and we never eat it all! (I'm in Ireland)

This is similar to what happens for my family during Thankgiving. For about two weeks we have left over turkey.
We do a breakfast thing for Christmas, since we all live on our own and on then go to a single member's household.
