  • thanks for making such an amazing vid...:)

  • @crabline1 he is using his finger to stop the dice from falling

  • Great tutorial, spoken clearly and slowly, explained perfectly!

  • ok very good tutorial!i think is the best!!!but i dont watch youtube for physics lessons! !)

  • now do it with a bucket and four rubixcubes

  • i found a way to cheat at stacking die. use a smaller diameter cup. it makes it easier to staCK

  • I can't make the dice get into my cup, how can I do it ?

  • i was wondering if you could upload a video on downstacking and ponit stacking, i just resived my used casinno dice in the mail yesterday and i can stck them fine i just want to know how to go about downstacking and ponit stacking (:

  • I can do it but only on ground not in the air + I start with a stack then just do the movement of the cup only because I can't catch the dice in the cup yet any tips?

oh yeah tx for the tutorial

  • @crabline1 Please retype your comment with punctuation. Use complete, separate sentences, and perhaps then I will be able to understand and answer you. I'm not being snooty, I just don't know what you're asking.

  • @JorickHorn sorry...

basically I can put the dice on top of eachother then put the cup over them then use the correct motion to slide the cup along my table I can then take the cup off and they're still stacked... I cannot however move the cup in the air and do it I also cannot get the dice into my cup without dropping or placing them...

    can you help

also do you know if their is an english website to purchase casino dice from?

    thankyou in advance :P

  • @crabline1 That was much more understandable. The motion is shown in the video, and when you're just beginning, it's best to learn the motion with only one die inside the cup. Add more dice when you've perfected the swing. It will take a lot of practice and it will be frustrating. You will probably be bad at it for longer than you want to, but be persistant, and you'll get it.

Unfortunately, I don't know any English websites.

I highly recommend Strunk & White's Elements of Style.

  • @JorickHorn thankyou

  • Can I Use 19mm Dice ? Or Should I Use Bigger ?

  • @Emoboysasuke3322 The dice I use are 19mm casino dice. They are absolutely ideal.

  • @JorickHorn Thank You, Do Yours Have Flat Corners And Edges ? Or They Rounded ? Because I Don't Know Whether I Should Buy Them Or Not

  • @Emoboysasuke3322 I believe I said this in the video, but I haven't watched it for a while, so I'm not sure: The flatter the dice and the sharper the edges, the better they are for stacking.

  • how do i make the dice stack i get them in the cup but they dont stack when i try to put them down

  • nice one :)

  • I heard Dio..And bam i subbed

  • might be wrong but im sure inertia is the amount of force needed to move a object from it being stationary.

  • @Inceptionz Yes, it is, sort of. It is related to the amount of force needed to move a stationary object, slow down a moving object, speed up a moving object, or change a moving object's direction. Inertia is really a resistance to a change in state of motion. Objects resist acceleration, deceleration, and turning, and that is inertia. To accelerate, the force exerted must counteract that inertia. There is no set amount of force required to move any object until friction is accounted for.

  • On amazon you can get 100 19mm casino dice for 12 dollars

  • wow , but go on a search for life ..... xD

  • @pwghost ... well, I am taking an astrobiology class this coming semester, if that's what you mean. That's searching for life.

  • @JorickHorn no thats not what i meant xD

  • *I have added to my favorites:P

  • YOU DO IT WITH STYLE *showoff* LMFAO JKJKJK

  • i love how i learned yo stack dice with using the swipe as my first stacking move. haha lol this i true! really

  • Thumbs up for no frowny face :D

  • lol nice science lesson as well for some :p

  • Wow your really "rocking the headbanger look".... nice one.

  • If you think u are good at something there is always asian better then u

  • Your only limit is your imagination

  • i dont whink 20 dollars are that cheap

  • @roliletea

$1 for 1 die? $20 for 20 dice? That is insanely cheap, you're mad to think otherwise.

  • does the cup need to have a slope to it? can it just be vertical sides? thanks

  • @applefritters5064 The more vertical, the better.

  • you are just sooo bad ass, aren't you!....

  • OH MY GOD!!! I've been practicing for like 4 hours straight and I just can't land it! Not once!!!

  • Dice stacking skills + hammerfall = Coolnesse Overflow! :P xD

  • where can i get that kind of cup?

  • @nathantnnguyen If you watched the video, I believe I mentioned I got it out of my cupboard. I have no idea of its origins.

If I didn't mention that, sorry. There it is.

  • Is it necessary to get some good dices or just normal ones ?

  • @lethaihien12345 I spent several minutes in the video on this subject. You can stack normal dice, but they're very difficult, and their capabilities are extremely limited.

  • Would a glass cup work for this?

  • @pajamaman100 Sure, as long as it's the right shape. And be careful not to break it.

  • @JorickHorn lol I actually did just break one =P

But now I'm using a Yahtzee cup and it's working well.

  • nerds

  • hmmm ... interesting, I don't have to much problem downstacking, but I can't point stack. For me point stacking is way harder than downstacking

  • could you make a video about landing it because that part needs more details

  • help me. i catch the dices, but they dont stack

  • @guilpota I read your comment on the other video. Normal white gaming dice will work with a lot of practice (it is extremely difficult to learn, especially with normal dice), but 19mm razor-edge craps dice like the ones used in casinos stack exceedingly well, because they are big and have a lot of inertia, and don't tend to roll around in the cup. I've linked to the cheapest casino dice on the internet in the video description.

  • @JorickHorn

in that site i found 25 DICES 19MM/20MM, AND IT COSTS IS 5 DOLLARS

    their good?

  • @guilpota It says right in the item description whether they are recommended for dice stacking. In that case, no. They'll work, but they're not as good.

  • @JorickHorn The shipping on those dice is $12+...

  • @nathantnnguyen I know. I have searched the internet far and wide and have as yet not found a better deal. If you find one, let me know, and I'll post it.

  • wow when i do it or try to i can go fast enought to stack they flyout! Help plz i have the devo bundle so i know the secrets!

  • @towtoxgta It's not about going fast, it's about tilting the cup right. As I said in the tutorial, you can really go quite slowly, as long as you tilt the cup right. Also I have no idea what the devo bundle is.

  • you make it look easy.

  • Inertia is a property of matter.

  • @howmanypages BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY!

  • @JorickHorn SCIENCES RULES!

  • I have a question, but before you get me wrong, I don't mean to correct you I just wonder if you could explain why I am wrong:

I thought that if your dices have a particular speed which goes upward, this speed is high enough to withstand the dices being pulled down by gravity

in other words the upward force is higher than the downward force of the dice, meaning it pushes against the cup instead of falling down

but I can't link that to inertia, so what did I miss?

  • @Rboysblaster The upward force is the side of the cup, redirecting the die's inertia from a sideways motion to an upward direction. There is no speed that generates an upward force. If you don't tilt the cup, you can swing it as fast as you want, the dice will fall out.

  • apart from nicking them from a casino

  • @MrAshdabash Good luck with that! Craps tables are very crowded, the dice are watched very carefully by the dealers to prevent loaded dice being switched in, and the eye in the sky records everything.

  • Dude, I know someone who can do this with YAHTZEE DICE!!!! F.Y.I. Yahtzee dice are extremely round.

  • lol ur good with any tricks to do with cups

  • WOW UR GOOD

  • and thanks for the link also ^.^

  • thanks this was really helpful more so than any other tutorial iv seen ^.^

  • Do you have to have 4 dice cuz i only got 2.

  • thank you so much, its ppl like u that make the world a better place. the ppl who post bad comments unfortunately cancel it out, but anyway, I think you did a very good job explaining and I am getting much better :)

  • do i lower the speed of the swipe when point landing onto a non table surface? its confusing.

  • uhmmm...honestly....i would fuck you because of this trick you do.

  • @BEYOUtifulkaye Well, gee, that's very nice of you. I have a girlfriend, already, so I can't take you up on it, but I appreciate it! ;)

  • hello! im from the philippines. i saw this dice stacking on facebook. and i fnd it interesting, so i want to learn but the problem is,and this dice stacking thing is not popular in my country, and never heard it before.. and i really want to learn it. and another prob is. im from a province in the philippines, no casino.. or any store that sell such dice.. but i have regular dice. .like we use in snakes and ladders.. and i want that kind of dice.. i want to make it popular here in my country :(

  • hello! im from the philippines. i saw this dice stacking on facebook. and i fnd it interesting, so i want to learn but the problem is,and this dice stacking thing is not popular in my country, and never heard it before.. and i really want to learn it. the problem is, im from a province in the philippines, no casino.. or any store that sell such dice.. but i have regular dice. .like we use in snakes and ladders.. and i want that kind of dice.. i want to make it popular here in my country :(

  • so u can get it with game dice, its just harder. but if u can get it, u can get the bigger ones?

  • wait ? your telling me to but something ? OOOHH NO SKIP !

  • Call me when you Align all the numbers

  • You would completely destroy Minute To Win It.

  • dude why the hell would i pay 17 bucks for 20 dice. thats a buck a piece almost. just no.

  • you play warhammer !

  • cool hobby man! I gonna get some from the link you gave. One set for me and a pall of mine, nice gift and play at a birthday party!

    Good explanations thanx alot!

  • @jorickhorn

No you just said it was a regular smiley face cup that you put decals on you never said WHERE you got it

  • @sportstackingwiz1 True, that's because it's a very generic cup that I found in my cupboard. I have no idea whatsoever where it came from.

  • @JorickHorn

well you could have just said that

  • @JorickHorn lol random smiley face cup? thats funny

  • Where did you get your cup

  • @sportstackingwiz1 You've asked me this before. I ignored your question because the answer is in the video.

  • thanx man this help alot ima subscribe u = )

  • you sir. are awsome

  • you didnt tellus how you do even the simplist part of stacking im going to another tutorial

  • @maribakumon Did you even watch the video? I spent the vast majority of it explaining the movements involved. There's nothing more to it but practice. There's no secret, it's not a magic trick or illusion. You'll find nothing more in any other tutorials.

  • where did you get your cup

  • wow. not really sure if this interests me but you did an excellent job of explaining it. great video!

  • oooo he owned u

  • Y can't u use stacking cups I do and they work better

  • @gmv124

ya its true that you can stack up the dice on a table with a speed stacks cup, your right on that, but you cantt stopon a point with a stacking cup

  • does size of the dice matter?

  • does th dice stay in the cup like you twirl a water bottle and the water stays??

  • I'm sorry but what you described was newtons first law of motion not inertia, and the dice stay in the cup by centripetal acceleration. know your terms before you use the next time please.

  • @7thperiodhackcircle Newton's first law is the law of inertia. They are the same. And the dice stay in the cup because the inertia of the dice counteracts the centripetal acceleration of the cup. Also, even that is iffy, because centripetal acceleration is acceleration around a fixed point that causes circular motion. The cup's motion is not quite circular. Know your terms especially well before you correct someone next time, please.

  • You can find dice casino set in ebay. It's much easier

  • @ta6aka10 Send me a link to an auction that sells them cheaper, and I'll see what I can do.

  • Ebay sells dice cheeper. I bought 25 for $5 !!!

  • @bodygued Send me a link to an auction that sells them cheaper, and I'll see what I can do.

  • @bodygued

you got ripped off, those arent real casino dice, look between the 2 on the dice, real casino dice have the name of the casino there, those ones dont

  • k thx

  • @jorickhorn

i am using casino dice but when i stop on the tape on my table im fine then i try on like dice and i cant

  • @sportstackingwiz1 I'm afraid the only advice I can give is to keep practicing. Maybe try slightly larger targets first. I started with a rubik's cube.

  • any tips for the point stop i cant get it

  • @sportstackingwiz1 You have to be using the right kind of dice, and you have to practice your butt off. I still drop them more often than not.

  • Hey wat is the standard size of casino dice??cuz on the website i think it said like 200 19mm for 5.00 plz reply doi can know plz send me a link of which ones bought thnks

  • @RedMonkey126 Yes, those are the same size, but they are not razor-edged. The straight corners make dice stacking much easier, because they prevent rolling. The ones I link to are real used casino dice, right size, right shape. I recommend them because they are the best equipment at the best price I could possibly find. If by chance you do come across a better deal online, let me know so I can update the link.

  • I use inertia all the time.I swing the grocerie bags for no reason.

  • cheapest place to earth to get? if you live in europa it cost about 27 dollars extra to get those casino dice!

  • @WarCCry23 If you can find a cheaper place, let me know, and I'll update the link.

  • Heaven And Hell :)

  • It's not Inertia. It's centrifugal force.

  • @pistolfate centrifugal force IS inertia. When you apply the laws of inertia on a rotating system, you see a centrifugal force come into play. It's merely the way inertia reacts to a spin. In the case of dice stacking, it's not really a rotating system, as the arc is quite irregular, and doesn't quite fit the criteria. It could be called centrifugal force, but what it can DEFINITELY be called is inertia. My dad's a physics professor. I've been learning this stuff all my life.

  • @JorickHorn wait, what?

  • @mig31imstillalive Centrifugal force is a special case. It's inertia applied in a rotating system.

  • @JorickHorn geek

  • @AntDuca921 Yes. Yes, I am.

  • @JorickHorn Minor correction, more in the wording than anything, centrifugal force is applied inertia, not just inertia. You'll confuse some folks saying that they're one in the same.

  • @TophBeiFong2 I feel like I made that clear in my second comment, but I suppose you're right that some folks may still be confused.

  • i can do dice stacking fairly well now thanks to your videos and allstar2772. i'm trying to master where you stack them but then cup them one by one and stack them again (ive nearly got it), but what i can't do is where you stack them on-top of things like you did on your watch and other stuff, if you could tell me how to do it or make a video that would be really great. thanks

  • @Tomwithanas Firstly, it's very, very difficult (I won't say impossible, but that's how it seems) to do that with any dice other than casino dice, and secondly, just keep practicing. It will get very frustrating before it gets easier.

  • kooooool...............AID jk hahaha this thing is cool

  • you're awesome /s

    Thanks Dude ...

  • Look in side JUMP IN LOL

  • now i know how to dice stack!

  • God damn you, Youtube. I'm having to constantly go back and rewatch parts.

    Great vid, otherwise. Really helpful.

  • you remind me of the guy from Bored to Death... Jonathan Ames...

  • inertia is the tendency of an object to resist a change in motion. what you said was newtons first law

  • @mt63301 "Santa Claus is a jolly guy from the North Pole. What you said was Kris Kringle." Newton's first law is called the "law of inertia." An object in motion will remain in motion unless acted upon by an outside force because it tends to resist a change in motion. An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by an outside force because it tends to resist a change in motion.

  • @JorickHorn This guy knows his physics and can stack dice? Holy shit.

  • @JorickHorn LOLOLOL. mt failed.

  • @JorickHorn lol. your sarcasm is excellent

  • Thanks alot u are really talentet so keep working on it i just begon it worked!! thanks alot anyway =)

  • The Dice in the link cost is cheap but the shipping 23$

  • OMFG the shipping for the dice is 23$....

  • FIRST PLACE IN THE SCHOOL CLOSE UP CONTEST HERE I COMEZ!!! Honestly, with this, and my card tricks ill ace it =3

  • i love to stack but can i make a 7th grade science project out of this

  • @TheFalloutproduction you can just talk about inertia, wait isn't 7th grade life science and 6th grade is phisical?

  • @jakeeln no it's actually both now cuz our school curriculum has changed

  • Thanks for sharing, i always wanted to learn how to do that!

  • Where do you get your cups?

  • @PreZZDee Please only ask a question if it is not addressed in the video. I clearly say what to look for in a cup and that I found mine in the cupboard. I cannot trace them to the manufacturer, so I don't know the answer.

  • awesome.

  • I thought that was slow motion until you stopped and pointed XD

  • similar to lacrosse with that inertia shit

  • Nice, man, you helped me alot!!!

  • Hey thanks a lot for spending time doing this tutorial, it really means a lot to people who are interested in this =)

  • Thank you soooo much... ive learn it and it is soo cool

and you can show off too xD

  • this guy actually knows what he is talking about BRAVO

  • This is what youtube is for. Excellent.

  • Great video. The slow mo video you've linked to is worth checking out too

  • cant land it!!!!

  • well then Jake, you cant do it. lol u liar u said u could do it on facebook. meh

  • how do you throw the cup without dropping the dice?

  • Centrifugical force.

  • isnt that an unreal force? i thought it was just inertia

  • found some normal die but they rnt casino... nd i dont wanna spend money... but i wanna show off... :S

  • rr i wish i had casino dice... im not even sure if i have normal dice

  • thnx 2 u now i can dice stack! ty

  • that was good stuff, very enjoyable

  • hey dude your awsome and thwnx for showing me how to stack up some dice besides the dices i use are regular playing dice but im kinda a pro with them so imagine how wuld i do with casino dices heheheh well thanx again

  • that tut is awesome!

  • are all of the dice the same size when you buy the set?
