  • far too underviewed

  • Fascinating that there is a Drake promo under this video

  • It was in the wind when she said Dilla was gone, that's when I knew we'd live forever through song. We miss you Dilla. Happy birthday.

  • 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover" by Paul Simon*

  • @120hazz ehhh.....nooooot really, i can see where you're getting that from, but cudi did a version of '50 ways' that's pretty good

  • I suddenyl just remember why I got so deep into Hip Hop and Poetry, thanks Comm.

  • This is what Hip Hop was meant to be the poetry of the streets, a poetry of the soul and the heart. Commercial Hip Hop for me died when Biggie and Tupac got murdered by a corrupt system that is now nearing it's death in America. Common is one of the few artists that still sticks to the roots of good Hip Hop.

  • "It was in the wind when she said Dilla was gone

That's when I knew we lived forever through song"

    Yup.

  • even j cole on the left is like .. damn

  • If Commons style was actually common in todays hip hop then I wouldnt have to shoot myself everytime someone blasts waka faker on the radio.

  • type in(topnotch do you)he`s from philly, this dude is FIRE but dont take my word listen for yourself

  • Favorite "reality" Lyricist...

  • Forever begins just because I thought about it...

  • Why do younger people think it matters that they're only 16 or whatever and they like this kind of music. Do you think it makes you look older, wiser, enligtened even? No one cares that Stevie Wonder is my favourite musician. Nor should I care what they think. If it feeds your soul to listen to a certain type of music. Good for you, but news flash it doesn't effect anyone else.

  • Prettyy sure that's a drum machine, not a drummer.

  • This album is still such a dream.

  • FUCK BILL O REILLY!

  • I'm 15 years old, iv grown up with rap, i listen to Kool G Rap, 2pac, Nas, Lupe Fiasco, Big Pun, Kid Cudi, Biggie, Rakim, the Wu Tang Clan, and of course Common Sense... but never has, or have I even thought, a rap song or performance, could actually make me cry....

  • R.I.P. Dilla

  • The drummer's a little off. The studio version is much better.

  • "Ashes and snow falls I wonder when the roll call for heaven gon come forever gon come, its a cold world I can never go numb look fear in the eyes say im never gon run, sooner than later I know cheddar gon come, for now I write the world letters to better the young on the by jury together we hung now we let or chains hang and gang bang to maintain" common is a true artist speaks words to maintain your brain going

  • This is why I fell in love with Hip-Hop. Many rapper of today have forgotten the art and pimped themselves out for the dollar. You gotta make the money...I know but you can still keep the art form pure. Common does it. Jay-Z does it and a few others.

  • even though i respect a lot Common, NaS>>>>Common "Back in '94 they called me Chi-town Nas"

  • Common+Paul Simon=awsome

  • this song wants me to stop stunting for folks! and start making that change and grow up man! forever begins yalI!

  • The beat to this song is entrancing

  • @drumbum185 If you're talking about the drum beat specifically - in the studio version it's a sample of 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover by Paul Simon... crazy right?!

  • Comecheck out my songs white boy spits straight heat

  • This is the most beautiful song i've ever heard. Pure genius. That kind of guy keep the Hip Hop alive.

  • This is earth's new anthem.

  • 50 ways to leave your lover by Paul Simon. Note- not a Kayne West beat

  • @MSFproductionsMAIN agreed, very very similar

  • @MSFproductionsMAIN yh he's talking about the music behind the rap not the actuall drums!

  • @Adjei88 I do Love that piano inn this song. It sticks in your head.

  • Isn't this a Paul Simon Rythem?

  • I got love for the 70 people that liked this. Good to know there are still some of us who can appreciate what hip hop is/was and should always be. And I love that there are no dislikes too.

  • One Of Kanye‘s Best Beats

  • @noodiTHEboss I agree. He really out did himself on this track!

  • @noodiTHEboss This beat is from a Paul Simon tune.

  • Art in its purest form.

  • This song is about J dilla.

  • forever begins = never ends

  • one of the best lyrically

  • like the keys on this tune
