I'm scared that soon they'll take all these great music clips off youtube. They want us to pay for everything. It's already happening. Fuck it's the only reason i go to youtube. Who cares about man getting hit in the balls by football...without the music youtube is nothing.
Thin Lizzy . Musicianship at its very best and delivered with a historical precision that guarantees their participation as the pantheons of Rock-and-Roll.
This song was used to advertise the cricket season on South African TV back in the mid-90s. I heard it so much in that context, that now when I hear it, I think: Oh, God, not a 5-day test match! Despite that pain, I do appreciate it for the kick-ass track it is!

1976-84 was a real good time to be in your twenties. We were free(er) then. Non-stop, "kick ass and take names" rock and roll, like this song, and something fun or new around each corner. I was only making $160 a week by '84 but had my own place and always had enough money.
Never let your respect for the dead go against your will to defend their deeds, as they are still around for all to hear and see! As long as people listen to Gary, and look at his images moving across the screen, he's alive, and he's not that bad. A lot of dead people would be jealous, but in my dream I only tried to get up to the Victory.
Gary Moore was not in the band for the Jailbreak album (from which this song was the big hit), or on tours from 1975-77. This is Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham. But Gary should of course Rest in Peace.
I hate rap in all it's forms from Eminem to shakur to every non educated, gun toting, herion dealing, cop killing, women debasing piece of crap that ever started that form of non-music and the fat faggot, greedy white piece's of filth that made it main stream. Long live Thin Lizzy and Classic rock the real shit!
@nat00ben06 its not like the icons of rock have been good role models .... heroin dealing?.. how many rappers have actively promoted the use of heroin , i can name several 'rockers' that have...just enjoy the music i say... i like both genres but i wouldnt insult a genre im not so keen on.
@hurricane315 Remember this... there was shitty pop back then as well, you are lucky to have the archives at your disposal. All music has it's place, some belongs at the bottom of a large, smelly dumpster. Rock out to all of this just like I did! The Boy bands and GaGa's of today will perish in the flames of Jimi's burning guitar!!!
@hurricane315 I feel you. Im sick and tired of boy bands, justin bieber, and songs about popping a cap in the bitch ass. I wanna hear stuff on TV about Styx, Def Leppard, Ozzy. It's good to know that people still know real music when they hear it.
Guys, please. This is great music, that's a given fact. But don't get caught in meaningless nostalgia. There is still good music being made today, and it's not by refusing to even try to find it that you support it.
Sure, listen to Lizzy, Zep, Sabb, Purple. But remember that today's music is not just bieber or rap or gaga. Don't be hypocrites- liking good music doesn't make us part of some elitist snob group - explore, discover - it makes it even more enjoyable
@Royic For the most part mainstream music has always been weak. Look at Disco,New Wave, Hair Metal. And even the 60's/early 70's were heavy with bubble gum pop. It's not like Thin Lizzy were ever huge ( in the US at least). By over-glorifying the past we make it impossible to create new good music.
@alexbasalyga Look its a rap fan! You shouldnt be on your moms computer, you should be in the play room coloring. Hurry now! before mommy makes you eat more veggies!
@igSgtPepper Hahahahaha. Some advice: Use more apostrophes so you don't come off as being so incompetent. Also, you'd do well to eat more vegetables as well, you old, fat bitch.
@Whodisdeya Dude, you cant say that 2pac were good. Sure, his lyrics were pretty emotional and i can relate to them, but as a singer/artist, Biggie were always the better one
@Whodisdeya Give me a break. What instruments did Biggie or 2pac play. Wow it's absolutely ridiculous to bring up guys who haven't a clue when it comes to "real" music.
@awoosoul It's your opinion, I honestly think it takes a level of artistry that a lot of people don't understand to be an amazing emcee like both of them were. A lot of it has to do with understanding the culture I think, and growing up in it. You would probably be more fond of it then maybe?
@vangoghpro - I beg to differ. Sad comment. Read Phil Lynotts wiki. Hey tried to get a punk-esque thing going w/Sex Pistols members (the non heroin ones! HA!) Anyhow, Lizzy was a HUGE contributor to hard rock & metal that we hear today in my book.
@hurricane315 Man, I totally agree with you, I'm 14 years old, and I hate all this rap, po, E.T.C. I wish I were born around when my parents, because then I could actually attend a real concert, instead of Lady Gaga, or lil' Wayne, or what ever bullshit they have today.
Dude, I feel lucky that I'm in a generation where I can stick out cuz I listen to something next to no one listens to. That way when you find less like-minded people, they tend to be truer.

You were born at the best time. You have access to all the good stuff. Enjoy it. Back when some of us were your age, we had no video, no way to record anything, basically. I've waited about 40 years to see some of the things I'm enjoying now on youtube.
hurricane315, I feel the same way and if you like Hendrix check out Band of gypsies. The whole CD is nice but the cut entitled "Machine Gun" is a masterpiece. I'm in my forties and I hate rap too!
@hurricane315 Well, I understand your point. You need to also realize that many of these classic rock musicians killed themselves off early. Hendrix choked on his own vomit due to drugs(save the conspiracy stuff, please) and Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy died from a heroin OD.
That has nothing to do with the point he was making.. He appreciated their music and wished he was there to experience it in person. There are MORE artists today that are on drugs and are nearly killing themselves, Pete Doherty for instance.
"Live" was released in late '78. This live in late "76 or '77. By "78 Robertson was headed for death or something but not in the band. Some spotty showings by BR but 'Hired Guns" were needed to maek sure someone was at the show able to play.
