  • I worked with a young man from Pakistan who told me the English came to India to trade, and it took 300 years before they left. During President Clinton's term, at least he gave the Hawian people an apology for taking their nation away from them, long over due.

  • aww i really thought that kailini should have gotten married with the guy she loved i would have left

  • i thought the lovestory was cute a little too much kissing though

  • to colinchick69: For certain, it is not Hawai''i that has gotten on ships and gone into new territory with only the idea of claiming it for themselves. All they ever wanted was to have their own land in their own kingdom with their own Queen. This movie left that the Princess died supposedly of pneumonia. How convenient to leave this out of the movie. Until this injustice is corrected by the return of their lands ,Hawai'i continues to be the false 50th state !

    Kaleolani

    Mahalo. Kaleolani F.

  • Q'Orianka Kilcher is an amazing actress, beautiful, an amazing human being

  • looks like an awesome movie...i have yet to see it

  • @k129h8 its really good

  • Any one who wants to watch this for free should search Kaiulani on tudou.com

  • Don't wanna spoil the ending but... she loses

  • looks pretty good, Im watching it soon hopefully.

  • Q orianka kilcher!!!!!!!!!!

  • It looks good :)

  • I am reading a boook about her but i must say i love the trailer more she kepet a diary and died the way her mother did and the king did not die u guys wish

  • @Lemonhead4442 Ohhh..what book is that?

  • Where ever Americans go they have little respect for native peoples especially in their own country. They wanted control of the Pacific and they got it. Miss Kilcher is a fine actress and a great activist! The Peruvian government doesnt care oil companys polute the native peoples water and make them ill. you dont see them taking on the greedy oil companies like the US did to BP. I have blood of the Dakota nation on both sides.

  • @colinchick69 The peruvian government doesn't care about us, the indigenous people of the Amazon, but Q'orianka is doing a great job bring awareness to our peoples struggle against the oil companies. This is happening also to the Natives of Alaska.

  • @mercedes12141 Yes re: Alaska,Mrs. Pallin did nothing about making the operators of the pipeline maintain it properly, resulting leak despoiled land, killed wildlife and harmed the lives of native peoples. All they had to do was shut down, and run a "pig" thru the line.It would have scanned the line for problems. Of course you have to stop the flow, so you see why they didnt do that.

  • @colinchick69 and u really think it is only the americans who have done that?

  • @colinchick69 heyy dont blame america british people were much worse did u ever hear about the british taking over india

  • I liked the movie, but I'm of the opinion that they put way too much focus on the idiotic love story, and not nearly enough emphasis on the political drama that was taking place. The movie had a lot of potential, unfortunately I think they kinda wasted it. Just my $0.02.

  • @lolinternetslol really, i kind of liked the lovestory but they kissed way too much

  • i love how she's peruvian

  • @mceruto Shes Polynesian...big difference.

  • @LucasHiltonVicious16 the actress sweetie pie

  • @mceruto Ohh..I'm sorry!

    :)

  • I like how the movie tells the story about what happend to Hawaii. But to me, it is NOT POWERFUL ENOUGH into spreading to the world that the United States invaded Hawaii and ILLEGALLY made it part of its territory! Especially, when it contridicts everything in the end.

We Hawaiians should make the book "HAWAII'S STORY BY HAWAII'S QUEEN" a movie instead of this! Considering the fact that Her Majesty wrote it Herself, THAT should be the one telling the world what happend.

    Don't you think so?

  • @DeltaEagle7700 PREACH!

Another movie of Americans stealing other peoples lands ... mmmhhmmm~

  • I just watched the film on DVD for the first time. I cried like a baby through most of the movie. Even when there really was no reason to cry lol. I'm just glad someone made a film about anyone in the royal family...a modern film. My heart breaks for my people. I thought the actress did a wonderful job. I wish I were there...I would have knocked that haole teacher out. I wish I could have done something...I wish I were there... =(

  • @curatrix2008 Heres something you can do with your life. Stop spending your time on the computer all day getting OUT OF SHAPE IN OTHER WORDS OBESE and go out and do something with your BORING life the only reason why your acting like a DICK is because you dont have one GROW A PAIR and stop using these words that are fit into a KINDERGARTENERS vocabulary. You are just some stupid HAOLE boy that talks about people sucking peoples privates because YOU DONT HAVE A GIRL TO SUCK YOURS!

  • she isso beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • IS THE MOVIE EVEN GUD??

    I WANT TO WATCH IT.

  • Thumbs up If you're agreed with me in Q'Orianka Kilcher should have been in the cover of Vanity Fair as a rising star of the new decade 2010, with Kristen Stewart, Anna Kendrick, Amanda Seyfried and the other aryan girls...

  • @ArkOfJustice. Well, I don't know if "curatrix2008" is a guy. I'm just guessing. And yes, what was done in the past was not right indeed. It changed everything which effects to this day.

  • @ArkOfJustice. Well, I dont know about that. But one thing is certain: He no like listen to the TRUTH! Every time we try explain anything like this to him, he trash talks us and refuses to listen. He no nothing about the Hawaiian Kingdom!

  • @ArkOfJustice you keep writing to me, I'll be your daddy

  • @ArkOfJustice I'm talking about another lil hawn bastard that no one cares about so he talks to a haolie for hours.

    .

    you have no one

  • @ArkOfJustice You don't have a father do you?

  • @ArkOfJustice It's easy to get hawns so their inferiority

  • @ArkOfJustice You make the hawns viewing this video proud.

    LOL

    .

    hahahahaha

  • @ArkOfJustice You seem to have a crush on me.

    .

you wanting to suck my dick like your uncles showed you how?

  • @ArkOfJustice LOL Haolies own you LOL

  • @ArkOfJustice and you are only a hawn with no education, no money and no power to stop haolies from running hawaii hahahahahah :D

  • @ArkOfJustice Now if ya need to hear more about your royals and how ya let your uncles break your akole cherry, keep hollering out to me.

    .

I know you like to know that others know and most hawaiians died off and we just waiting for the rest of you to drop out and drop off

  • @ArkOfJustice oh thx for the shout out. hahaha

    .

    yes kamehameha was a mahu

    .

when he got older and couldn't get it up, he got young boys to fuck him up his anus

    .

your entire race is full of incest perversian and homosexality

    .

that's why you'll never be more than someone whites are just waiting to die off LOL

  • @ArkOfJustice hahahahaha - oh it was a good time when you were talking shit.

    .

hahahaha you are weak like all hawns

    .

    you'll die weak

    .

you'll die with hawaii still being part of the U.S.

    .

but anytime you need to be reminded about the vile filthy truth of your people - give me a shout out. LOL

  • @ArkOfJustice You do know that PRINCESS KAIULANI was named successor cause she licked the Queen's pussy since she was a little girl.

  • @ArkOfJustice did ya lick the blood clots out of your aunties' holes? while your uncles fucked from behind?

    .

you sound soooo hawn LOL hahahaha

    sounds like your queen

  • @ArkOfJustice you wanting to suck the blood off it and chew on the bloody clots like you always did for your sister?

  • @ArkOfJustice You think you will get to kill some haolies and move into their big house. LOL but, it woud be shit in a few weeks. You do not have the knowledge to command a job that would allow you to pay for that life style.

    .

no no just go back to smokin paka lolo and dreaming of being white.

you and the others are still savages that have no idea to run a country if it were turned over to you tomorrow

  • @ArkOfJustice Go invade some country you murderer LOL

  • @ArkOfJustice you contributed nothing to the past.

the queen signed hawaii over the the U.S.

she didn't consult hawns because under her had no rights

it was haolies that brough the concept of individual rights and property rights

    .

    hawns were property of royals.

    .

lol incest is not a myth ya moron, it's documented in the royal linneage & practiced by any hawn that had children, sisters that couldn't out run them

    .

your queen realized what savages you are and signed hawaii to US

  • @ArkOfJustice Right on! Curatrix is one of those typical people who are so afraid of the truth, but they already know it to be, so he takes personal stabs at people here even to stoop as low as picking on a 15yr. old here on youtube. That alone tells you his type of character. But I'm glad you understand the facts, that's all that matters & it begins just by understanding, b/c the rest will fall into place. Mahalo!

  • @ArkOfJustice You still here waiting. :)

  • @ArkOfJustice YOU MEAN LIKE YOU WAITING IN HERE FOR ME? hahaha

You can kiss their hawn ass; but, one day, one of them will ask you and tell you of how you are the same as those that stole their country. <tick tock>

  • @ArkOfJustice Did you cut off body parts? LOL Side with their issue; but, you are exactly the evil the claim to hate.

  • @ArkOfJustice AND you've invaded another country and murdered locals. Maybe you are looking for forgiveness

  • @ArkOfJustice Your being part of an invading nation and killing the locals is RIGHTEOUS; but, haolies were there when Queen was ready to sign over her throne, land, and people to the nation that would treat them the best and offered the most rights for them and her and didn't kill anyone. Funny how people see what they do as good and point fingers at those that are even less evil.

  • @ArkOfJustice How many people did you kill as part of invading nation?

  • @ArkOfJustice All I did was leave my thoughts and comments and you started making personal insults

  • @ArkOfJustice So did you? Did you go into another country and kill one of them? hahaha kinda a hypocrit if you did. Kinda a liar if you say no. LOL

  • @ArkOfJustice I don't have to defend myself to you either. And I haven't made personal attacks and you have. LOL

  • @ArkOfJustice I'm not forcing you or anyone to agree. But, when my points were too strong for you to refute, you said you were going to close your mind and not change your mind even if the facts were there.

  • @ArkOfJustice I asked if you killed anyone cause ya seem so offended by those that took over hawaii and didn't kill anyone. So, I ask again, you the kinda guy go into other people's country and kill one of them? You better than those in the past? Or really just another U.S. soldier that's messing in other peoples country and culture?

  • @ArkOfJustice Well closing your mind is the only way you can hold on t o your beliefs. I understand.

  • @ArkOfJustice I can see you are a PC coward who hates the U.S.

  • @ArkOfJustice Guess you hadn't thought this through if you can't refute even my basic points.

  • @ArkOfJustice LOL so now you can't formulate an argument so you start the personal attacks. :D

  • @ArkOfJustice You aren't the first self-loathing liberal american to jump on the PC band wagon of hating the U.S. When you think about their history, try to put it in context of time and place and don't apply today's standards to it. REmember what was really going on then.

  • @ArkOfJustice WOW YOU DID YOUR DUTY AND FOUGHT FOR THIS COUNTRY and the first time you disagree with someone ya forget about freedom of speech. Bet ya momma proud. REally took your oath to the constitution seriously did ya? hehehehehe

  • @ArkOfJustice Yes there are many hawaiians that don't want anything to do with the sovereigntty group. The made a life for themselves in the here and now and into the future for their children. Many think that group of haolies did wrong; but, so did the Queen saying she was gonna kill em all and take their property which ended any attempt by the U.S. to return hawaii to her. They don't want anything to do with the sovereignty group either cause they are mostly losers.

  • @ArkOfJustice You did your duty. Ya kill anyone?

  • @curatrix2008 they are 'immature' regarding history and including even the truth that doesn't show them in the best light.

  • @ArkOfJustice First, what royals wanted is THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERED. Next what they wanted was to toss baby women into volcanoes, order the murder of anyone their family that displeased them and and practice incest. Violence among natives was constant. Well, would you support a culture today that tossed baby women into volcanos?

  • @ArkOfJustice LOL europeans have verbalized how much they owe to greeks and italians. Democracy, art, culture, free speech, medicine, theatre, it goes on and on. We also, speak of the impact of invasion. IT'S THE TRUTH that is to be sought. Which hawns are not matured enough to do at least at this point. But, like the truth anywhere, when you hear the truth, it has a certain ring and is recognized.

  • @ArkOfJustice You are quite wrong if you think I hate hawns or i am poison them in some way. Many good things were brought by haolies. It's dishonest for them to ignore that and to tell a lie about what happened then make demands as those they have 'suffered mightily" Telling the truth is the only path to healing and justice. As long as they continue to lie outright or lie by ommission peach can not come. When they lie about haolies, they are lying about themselves, too.

  • @ArkOfJustice The incest, volcano and killing shit is over because of the haolies influence. KINDA A BIG DEAL

  • @ArkOfJustice LOL so in t he new world of the sovereign hawns, those that don't agree with official position will be silenced. hehehehe like back in the day when royals threw baby women into volcanos, practiced incest, or killed anyone and their family that displeased them. That's your vision of for sovereignty?

  • @ArkOfJustice Are there any do-overs that you object to are is it a free for all? How far back? Remember 95% of hawaiians voted to become a state in 1959. What about the lands of africa and china, do the oldest tribes that we can find get the land. Just asking. LOL, what about the other pacific islanders that took over and invaded other islands thousands of years ago, do the people the conquered get the land back. Are you thinking that china would agree to mongols taking over.

  • As things stand right now it looks like Oklahoma, Washington, Hawaii, Missouri, Arizona, New Hampshire, Georgia, California, Michigan and Montana will all definitely consider sovereignty bills this year. They may be joined by Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Alaska, Kansas, Alabama, Nevada, Maine and Pennsylvania where legislators have pledged to introduce similar bills. HAHAHAHA yes the paca lolo parliment might win.

  • @Hawnguy100 LOL 50th State

  • @curatrix2008 50th State ∞

  • @Hawnguy100 Hawaii is the 50th State. It's not going to change.

  • @curatrix2008

Actually, it is not legally a state. Sorry to burst your bubble.

  • @TheFoSchoShow You make stupid comments like that with no basis. It's not a state cause you say so. LOL

  • @TheFoSchoShow "On Jan. 17, 1893, at dusk, Queen Lili`uokalani yielded her throne" SHE TAPPED OUT doesn't matter why, once it's done, it's a done deal. Then in 1959, the citizens of the Territory of hawaii voted 17:1 to become a state.

  • @curatrix2008 damn rite it's not, it's a beautiful country, and it will stay that way

  • I want to see this, but I can't find it at any theater where I live! :(

  • @TheSaintJuliet . . if you google PRINCESS KAIULANI movie by zip code there is a site

  • The victimology of the hawaiians today in their history telling omits anything about how they admired, embraced and welcomed the haoli culture. Why?

  • Comment removed

  • @Hawnguy100 . . . YES AGAIN YOU ARE A VICTIM . . . yoouu arre underrr my power and are helpless do controllll yourself

    :D :D :D

  • @Hawnguy100 we didnt do anything lol this is crap that happened ages ago before most of our times i dont agree with alot of crap our so called forefathers did but it happend and theres no turning the clock back and quiet honestly nobody truely knows what went on back then only think we know what history books say and tell us so its all hear say who knows who really cares now days.

  • @rammur . RIGHT. Considering time & place, they behaved as well or better than the rest of the world. Education/reading was rare. no electricity, no telegraphs, no radios, no refrigeration, no antibiotics (plagues killed all races), no geography of most of the world, no news , starvation on ships, photography, just what they found.

  • @rammur . . what they found was human sacrifice, Kings killing entire families if just one of them made a mistake. Incest among royals. Each king and minor king at war. It appeared primitive and barbaric to them. Also, royals owned everything, guys like Hawnguy would have just been a slave. No rights an opinion or to own anything

  • i find ironic while americans preachon how they fough britain for freedom, we took the freedom of hundreds of different tiny islnds and mations of the pacific.

  • Comment removed

  • @Hawnguy100 You have really bad grammar

  • Is it just me or did everyone in that trailer pronounce Hawaii weird?

  • @Jamez773 I would love to hear it played in pidgen.

  • @Jamez773

No, that's how it's supposed to be pronounced. "HA-VAI-EE"

  • @SquadbayNinja with that much freaking stress on the Vai and that short of a Ha?

  • @Jamez773

In the Hawaiian language, the "w"s are pronounced as "v"s. Usually, you'll hear people saying in like Hvai-ee. I lived in Honolulu for about three years and in that short time you can learn a lot about a culture.

We English speakers tend to invent names for foreign countries and languages for some strange reason.

Where do we get the word "Germany" from "Deutschland" or the word "Japan" from "Nihon-koku"?

  • @SquadbayNinja Similar things in my people's language too. Also Germany and Japan weren't invented names. Germany comes from the word Germania. Julius Caesar adopted it from a Gallic term for the peoples east of the Rhine that historians believe meant something along the lines of "neighbor". Japan came from Maro Polo's Chipangu. Translated to fit English better, and centuries of vernacular, it is pronounced Japan.

  • @SquadbayNinja deutschland

  • Can y ou say this name ? Victoria Kaʻiulani Kalaninuiahilapalapa Kawekiu i Lunalilo Cleghorn

  • @ShtemeTeamBrad . A. Hawaiian words may start with any letter, vowel or consonant. B. Hawaiian words will never end with a consonant. C. Syllables in Hawaiian words are only one or two letters, never longer. D. Syllables must end with a vowel, or can be a single vowel, but can never be a single consonant.

  • @ShtemeTeamBrad Thanks for the message on my channel. Yes, I personally can pronounce her name properly. And, with knowing the grammatical and phoentic rules, most people can. I find pidgin with out discernable rules more difficult. And, other than 'da kine' and a few obvious terms it's better to avoid any attempts at pidgin if for no other reason that the laughter it causes.

  • Locals do not appear to like the movie. World critics pooh pooh it as fluff: Hawaiian monarchy and the island nation’s annexation by the United States, a complex and sometimes squalid story with less-than-admirable behavior ON ALL SIDES IS NOT FULLY SHOWN; but, it is an effort to make as a marketable sob story that falls short.

  • apparently, this is your looooong good-bye local boy :) :) :) hahahahaha!

  • @Hawnguy100 don't bother with this one anymore. it's not worth the effort. don't comment anymore either if you please.Because being obnoxious is the only thing this individual seems to do best.

  • And another thing I came back to tell u not to write or speak anymore about laws and morals when it is quite obvious that you respect none and lack morals yourself. Insulting our ancestors who are long dead to try to prove a point is something no one of class would EVER lower themselves to do. Harassing and insulting a race of people IS ignorant. Before you drag up wrongs doings imaginary or otherwise done by others make sure your not wronging others yourself. U poor excuse for a human being.

  • @MySide808 Well said my dear :)

  • @MySide808 Such a good idea. Your history, like all history is only another lie if it omits the truth.

  • I can't believe what I'm reading in here. But I'm with Hawnguy100 on this. First off what you r doing is the oldest trick in the book. First u behave rudely to others then u insult everything about a race. U classify us & call us inept and uneducated then proceed to call us racist when we defend ourselves.U have accused him or Hawaiians per say off committing wrongs against others. When the majority of us should not have to suffer for how a few have acted. If anyone is racist here it is U!

  • This oddly reminds me of the movie The Young Victoria. Looks interesting actually.

  • Racial prejudice is an insidious moral and social disease affecting peoples and populations all over the world. It manifests various symptoms which include fear, intolerance, separation, segregation, discrimination, and hatred. The single underlying cause of racial prejudice is ignorance. Those who claim discrimination racism use racism and violence. They don't oppose racism if they are the discriminators.

  • The Southern Poverty Law Center reports racism in Hawaii. But, racism among hawaiians today as in the past is rare among the educated, financially successful or those with higher social status. Overt racism most prevelant among those who lack education or employable skills moving quickly to violence and blaming another group for their lack of success and/or fulfilment.

  • Long before it was annexed by the United States, Hawaii's ruling class was highly Europeanized. Hawaiian royalty adopted British customs, including the Royal Anthem "God Save The King". Royals chose a german architect to design the european style buildings and mausoleums. Royals asked Queen Victoria to send them an angelican bishop.

  • The Hawaii Provisional Gov. was dealt a huge blow when United States President Benjamin Harrison, who was supportive of the annexation of Hawaii, was voted out of the White House. Grover Cleveland, assumed the presidency and right away worked to stop the treaty of annexation of Hawaii. They Gov. feared Cleveland would continue trying to restore the monarchy.

  • The truth stands, no matter who tells or who it's for or against."

  • exciting movie - view it at moviesbyrobert.comX Remove "X"

  • so just go on with your peaceful lives and just educate the others about all of this...the ones that are actually open minded about it this guy is "so called" knowing on whats going on in the eastern seas that he just cant bare the fact that his own country did this to us so i say we carry on our lives and let this pathetic being go on his way of living his life cold and bitter :)

  • @Hawnguy100 So i dont think you should reply to this guy curatrix or whatever he apparently or obviously doesnt have a life...just forget about him we can only tell them so much until something fucked up happens to them then who they going be crying to...if you hawaiian and you i know you are then please dont waste your HA over this nonsense person

  • hahaha ya made me laugh outloud :)

  • LOL

  • Did I miss the part where Hawaii was retained by the royals or were they in fact defeated?

  • Seems that all nations have at one time or another done the same thing including today. Are you following about what is happening with russia, pakistan/india, much of the african continent. But, it is a common tactic of those that have been defeated to excuse, justify and defend their own barbarity.

  • . . . as did the hawaiians through ineptitude and personal weakness and wanting to have and be part of the haole culture

  • People warm up to do-overs done to them - not so much to the wrongs they've done to others.

    '

  • There is also no sugar coating the fact that King Kamehameha enticed his enemy with lies to meet with him then and murdered him in a power grab.

If do-overs are to begin, how far back must they go for true justice?

  • So the royal hawaiian women were sold off, traded or bartered in marriage by ROYAL HAWAIIAN MEN..... hahaha... well that's a start toward the truth. You are right, that is how royals around the world as I said days ago. That is the result of royalty owning others and individual rights and choices being non-existent. I do question how many hawns would forfeit their individual rights for a mythical past.

  • Princess Miriam Likelike married Archibald Scott Cleghorn. She loved the latest fashion and haole style parties. Queen (Lydia) Liliuokalani as well as most other royals were sent to christian schools to be educated and trained and she married John Owen Dominis, son of a Boston sea captain. KAIULANI was sent to christian schools the off to europe for good ol haole education, social and diplomatic training by royals.

  • Those took over were were local businessmen from around the world. Not the U.S. Goverment. However, after Cleveland decline to put the queen back on the throne due to her threats to behead her enemies, a petition was put foward by those guys to become a territory, congress approved it and nations of all colors supported it. The royals married white, embraced haole culture. Ya think they sold you out?

  • very good movie - view it at styleplugin.netX Remove "X"

  • The facts are there. You can pretend they aren't; but, they are. Maybe you don't have the courage to admit what each of those involved did right and/or wrong? The question to you might be don't you have the courage to acknowledge what those involved did right and what they did wrong.

  • Countries immediately recognizing the new Provisional Government included Chile, Austro-Hungary, Mexico, Russia, the Netherlands, Imperial Germany, Sweden, Spain, Imperial Japan, Italy, Portugal, Imperial Britain, Denmark, Belgium, China, Peru, and France. So it was not the U.S. and it was not just whites. Most of the world thought she was a nut, barbaric unable to understand or be a player on the world stage.

  • The Queen preferred vengence over her throne, her kingdom or her 'people'. IT WAS HER CHOICE! She made it. and just like anyone that chooses vengence over what is important, she ended up with nothing. A more astute, unselfish and unself-centered monarch would never have made that decision.

  • @curatrix2008 why would cleveland order the military to step on soil he knew it meant war unless the other side (which in this case is hawaii) had declared war but because she didnt they put her in her own prison of her home forced her to sign hawaii over or else blood shed my queen said no bloodshed upon hawaii for either side....

  • @85Malie . . . It was business men that took over her kingdom. Cleveland knew it was wrong, and just like the U.S. and all great powers, if they back a government that is being taken over, they get involved. The wrongness of it wasn't a secret. Many disagreed with what the businessmen in Hawaii were doing. But, when she kep yapping about chopping off heads, there was no way for her U.S. supporters to justify restoring her.

  • @85Malie The Queen asked for his help. That's what she and the Princess were doing in Washington D.C.

  • YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MY QUEEN so how about you come to Hawaii specifically maui and ill let you know...because you THINK you know so much about history to criticize my Queen.

  • and what about the big ass petition that my great grandparents signed you dont know about it because they hid it from the world.....you want to know come to maui ill give you a history slap in your face then youll know the truth....not physically but by the books idiot...

  • @85Malie . . ."come to maui ill give you a history slap in your face" apparently, I just did that to you. Hey, try reading a little history. None of it was a secret. And, President Cleveland was opposed to the takeover, and proposed sending the U.S. military to Hawaii to restore the Queen to power. . . aaaa, but she blew it by insisting she would behead those that did the takeover . . . so she choose. IT WAS HER CHOICE!

  • curatrix2008....whoever you are and whatever you google...what sorce are you looking at because obviously you are not looking at the newspapers in hawaii because my people had the news first....its just like playing that game telephone when you hear it the story changes because everyone puts their own input so where do you go first to the source....

  • Q'orianka Kilcher represented Princess Kaiulani so well. She embraced her character beautifully. Loved the movie. Someone should've warned me to take lots of tissue to wipe the tears. We are Polynesian but our ancestors came from South America. Bottom line is she represented well. That's all that matters.

  • Curatrix2008... Did you just say that it wasn't hidden? Hmmmmm. Please educate your mind. Please get a life. You sound so hurt and bitter. Probably lack of attention while growing up. I'm sorry. Poor baby.

  • @Kaluaokalani President Grover Cleveland proposed using U.S. military force to put Queen Liliokalani back on the throne. When the deposed Queen refused to grant amnesty as a condition of her reinstatement, and said she would behead the the current government leaders and confiscate their property Cleveland was further humiliated at the realization he was trying to put a tyrant back on her throne.

  • @Kaluaokalani . . . with ever so slight research, you can see it was a hot political topic of the time. Opening discussed and debated around the world in newspapers. . . including the newspapers referred to as covering Princess Kaiulani.

If you try googling Grover Cleveland Queen liliuokalani you will get about 12,800 results many referencing news of that that time.

  • you know what, i know you dont know my peoples history because the U.S. has kept it under wraps this whole time... Now that the truth has been leaked, everyones in a frantic on how much people died in the overthrow and questioning whether or not the marines hurt anyone... Now my Queen asked only one thing and one thing only that her people was not harmed and that there will be no blood shed...

  • @85Malie . . . It has never been hidden. The events surrounding the topic of this film was well known at the time. You just found out apparently. Just as it's well known that King Kamehameha lied and enticed his rival to meet and then knocked him off. Just as it's known what China does. Your Queen acquiesced, agreed and submitted. AND YOU WANT A DO-OVER!

  • @curatrix2008 is one of those overly defensive, passive-aggressive types that only take jabs at people's opinions behind a cloak of anonymity just to get a reaction out of the people that have to live with these issues. issues that have absolutely no affect to his/her life. shame.

  • what im attempting is for everyone to know what happened to HAWAII whats happening right now i dont exactly know but i will research it but im attempting to educate the ones that dont know this is what happened to my people now do you understand...I dont know if your trying to make a debate out of this or what i know my history do you know my history or my peoples history...

  • @85Malie . . . isn't that exactly what you are attempting?

  • @85Malie . . . isn't that what China is doing in Tibet? Isn't that exactly what the is happening in Zimbabwe, in the middle east for women?

  • curatrix2008 say someone came into your house and said im coming no matter what you say... try to befriend you then when you become close they say you cant speak in your own home you have no rights with any reason whatsoever im your daddy and your my bitch....and then have your kids and generations of your family deal with that how would you feel then.....?

  • Its so sad what these barbarians did to Hawaii. I am of an Asian ethnic but I indeed have the blood of hawaiian in me. Ive lived in hawaii all my life, and im still here. My sister and I are both named after Kaiulani only because or hawaiian blood is traced back to her.

  • @kikiebby . . . WELL, it's sad what the chinese are doing to Tibet; 1988 invasion of Spratly Islands bu China; 1979 invasion of Northern Vietnam; 1788 invasion of Nepal by China; 1788 invasion of Vietnam by China; 1693 invasion of Mongolia by China; 1683 invasion of Formosa by China; 1407 invasion of Vietnam by China; 645668 invasion of Korea by China; and 208 BC invasion of Vietnam by China. SHOULD I GO ON?

  • Should all the defeated get do-overs?

  • keahi22 is right but if your so damn curious to know more about hawaiians and our history how about you stop comparing to what was and what is....Hawaiians were very sustainable to our elements so were the chinese we were all fine until america had to just fuck up everything...
